KKK Recruiting Fliers Found in Covington, GA Driveways Spark Police Investigation

COVINGTON, Ga. (TheBlaze/AP) — Residents of a Covington, Ga., neighborhood were in for a surprise this morning when they found fliers encouraging them to join the Ku Klux Klan; the leaflets were placed at the end of their driveways. Sheriff’s officials in the Atlanta area are investigating whether any laws were broken when the KKK invites were placed outside homes.

Newton County sheriff’s Deputy Courtney Morrison says the fliers are being reviewed to make sure they don’t contain any inappropriate information or threats. The Newton Citizen reports that the fliers included a drawing of a robed klansman standing in front of a tree with writing that said, “Join the KKK – Loyal White Knights.”

CBS Atlanta reports that police collected more than 30 of the fliers that were folded and packed into plastic sandwich bags and tossed at the end of driveways in the Covington area. Covington is about 35 miles southeast of Atlanta.

A man claiming to be a Imperial Wizard told the outlet that the Covington neighborhood was just one of many between New York and Florida that received the messages encouraging residents to join the KKK. CBS Atlanta reached the individual, who goes by the name Chris Barker, after they called a North Carolina-based phone number that was present on the document.

While clearly not content that they were targeted for recruitment, neighbors had some intriguing reactions. Abdul-Mateen, for one, seemed mildly annoyed.

“They need to get a life, I mean really,” Abdul-Mateen said of the KKK. “I’m hoping it had nothing to do with President Barack Obama being re-elected.”

Wendy Lozynski, another neighbor, noted that the situation is “embarrassing.” She highlighted that she has taught her kids “not to hate” and expressed surprise at the KKK’s tactics.

It is a flyer to join the Klan. Not a hate message, the Klan is above spreading a message of hate. Does the Klan have a storied past sure but so do Christians, Mormans, and Catholics. But we don’t get offended when they come to our homes we as a free nation either choose to listen or close the door. Just like with these flyers you can choose to join or toss it in the trash, burn it or whatever makes you feel better.

Everyone has a right to free speech, the NBPP screamed and yelled about killing white babies and no where on that flyer does it say kill blacks.

The Klans about white rights what can we do to make this a better country for our children. Take it for what it’s worth. We all want free speech and freedom of press unless you don’t agree then it should be banned.

  Everyone can be a victim. I can start ranting stuff my grandmother went through. But I didn’t join any female organizations and I don’t live my daily life as a victim thinking about all of the injustices women have suffered.
  There is WAY MORE gender discrimination on earth today then racism.

If you cannot come up with one actual law they lobbied to get passed that is against white people it shows your total stupidity.

  if we had a National White Organization or a white club, that would be racist. So, why is it not racist when blacks do it? Answer, it IS racist.
  
  We need to unite people. We all are in this together. We shouldn’t segregate ourselves into hyphenated groups. I never joined the female-professional group. I am a professional, not a female-professional. The we-they is divisive and wrong whether I am able to spend my morning researching the laws or not.

It is wrong that an unqualified black student gets into medical school, but the white student with A’s does not. It is racist when that black student in med school gets the answers before the test.(seen it with my own eyes)

Name me one law the NAACP lobbied for that is against white people. Affirmative action was done by JFk and Johnson, not the NAACP. NAACP were against Jim Crow laws which most Americans woudl be agaisnt but i dont see a single law they lobbied for that is agasint white people. So please, name me just one.

As far as your problem wiht affirmative action, if the United States hadnt had racist laws on its books prevent black people from life, libery and the pursuit of happiness we wouldnt have had the need for affirmative action. I am no fan of the Klan, the Panthers or any other group who’s principles stem from racism or hatred, but I sure am a huge fan of free speech. If you don’t love free speech even for those who’s opinions and stances are morally repugnant to yours, then you don’t really love (or respect) free speech.

  Exactly the point that I have made, if you don’t agree you don’t have to listen. If you are against something take a stand, start your own organization there is room for everyone to find what he/she believes and can make a difference in their world.
  
  This country was founded by people who did not believe in a king ruling the country and figured that they could make a difference and that they did, it wasn’t the easy road they had to fight for what they believed even if it wasn’t the popular choice.
  
  Every one is afforded the right to free speech. If the flyer had a message of hate and threatening a specific individual or group then yeah I would say it was wrong. Americans have become very thin skinned.

Personally I find anything to do with the KKK reprehensable. And I believe most White Folk likewise feel the same way. They are a racist fringe part of society worthy of shunning.
But where’s the equal responsible and condemnation towards the African American equivalent, The New Black Panther Party? I never hear of the necessity to go after these kooks who equally call for racist and militaristic attacks on their victims.
There is a ying & yang in whacky racist groups, the KKK for Whites, and equally whacky NBPP for Blacks. So where’s the responses by Blacks to get rid of their whacky segment of their society?

But look at la raza( the racist organization equal to the klan) , the new black panthers , the naacp and other racist organizations never seem to be under investigation and never come under scrutiny by the authorities or even by traitorous white liberals. don’t misunderstand… the KKK are a hateful group and i equate them with the hate groups of the left and am no friend thereof…

BUT, where was the investiagtion of the Black Panthers over their pre-election threats… where was the police intervention at the polls where Panthers were attempting to intimidate voters?

folks, we have a black President. equality is a legally supported natural right… the INDIVIDUALS who continue to act upon prejudiced or racist attitudes do so to their own detriment. the nation is not racist… we are a melting pot… white citizens ancestors fought and died to end slavery… white immigrants faced death and arrived with nothing like their black cousins.

the race baiters are as much a problem as the fools who pretend we are not all human beings beneath our skin, or that skin color matters. too bad our elected officials and LEOs do not always act accordingly.

I despise the clan, just as much as I despise the black panthers, but to launch an investigation,because they are recruiting? We couldn’t even get the panthers investigated when they were intimidating voters at the polls! Anyone else remember that?

Do we actually think the justice department will do anything? Holder has already refused to prosecute blacks. This is why they want to remove the 2nd amendment.

Why is the Newton County Sheriff’s Dept. even investigating this? Is there not still free speech in this country? I’m no expert, but I can’t see how the KKK did anything illegal here. Does this mean I can have the guy arrested who hangs those annoying shopper news bundles on my door every week?

You can advertize or join any group you wish. It’s how you conduct yourself individually that matters. It’s sad that white folks (i’m one) have to resort to an outdated relic of ignorance. In the atmosphere of today the creation of a political relivent organization is called for. The current Political parties are outdated and currupted beyound repair. I hate to admit it but the future requires we axcept certain trueths and reality’s. Race propigated by any color is in itself a terrior attack on our socual norms. It is unfortunate that this hate group is again rearing its ugly head, but what can we expect when the black President of this Country is doing all in his power to destroy same. He and his sidekick Eric Holder have no problem with black criminals and the Black Panthers. Just what do they expect from the white supremacist people. I think we can can expect to see much more of this as the Obamanure agenda keeps cutting into our basic rights. The man and his Party are divisive and they shall be forced to harvest the bitter crop they are planting.
