‘I’m Done, Finished, the Country’s Over With’: Guess Who Sent That Text Message to John Boehner After Obama’s Inauguration

It wasn’t the first time House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) had to console former Notre Dame coach and ESPN commentator Lou Holtz over the concept of four more years of President Barack Obama.
During an address to the Ripon Society on Tuesday, Boehner said that Holtz required a “pep talk” following Barack Obama’s inauguration earlier this week. However, the former college coach was also distraught following his reelection in November.
“Last night, I got a three-page text from my good friend Lou Holtz, who must have watched the inaugural and then all that blabber on TV…: ‘I’m done, finished, the country’s over with — we’re not doing this again!’ Now, I had already had this conversation with Lou about nine or ten days after the election. He came in to speak to our 34 new Members. And before he went over to talk to them, he came over to my office, and he was moaning and groaning. I said, ‘Lou, would you stop it? We’re Americans, we’ll figure this out!’ And I had to spend 15 minutes giving Lou Holtz a pep talk! I had to do it again last night!”
The content of the rest of Holtz’s “three-page” text is anyone’s guess.

Make sure you are surrounded by like minded people when the time comes. There is only one party now. That is the party against the people. They do not have our best interest in mind. Phil Mickelson saying he is moving from CA to avoid taxes is another example of someone speaking outloud about what they will do because they are disgusted with our situation. I don’t blame Phil one bit, but this will and can cascade…once it starts then it will be a Fort Sumptner moment with regards to who fired the first shot….it will be us unplugging enmasse.

If they deliberately want a revolution, they may get what they ask and they are unawares and do not realize that a revolution would cleanse the corruption quicker than trying to do it politicially. Third, when does Boehner intend to assert Congressional authority on issues like Women in Combat? This country is so thoroughly confused that the idea likely has at least a bare majority in support. AAAARRRRRGGG.

Think Martin Luther King. We need to claim the moral high ground and keep it. Peaceful protest can make their positions indefensible.
Get yourself together and remember that we are Americans, and so are the people we are opposing. That opens up some strategies and tactics that will be more effective at drawing and keeping support… Make them ashamed to not have joined you sooner, not ashamed to be seen with a bunch of dangerous lunatics.
If you drive the public away from supporting your cause, then you may loose far more than your life. If a cause is worth fighting for with violence, killing or dying for, then surely it is worth going to jail for? It would take more courage for some people than waving the flag and shooting at cops from well defended compounds. To make yourself deliberately helpless can be frightening. You don’t have to trust the government, trust the people.

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 11:26amI have to agree. I see the cycles in politics where the socialists gain ground and it takes decades for the people to see how the misery spread. We lived through decades of prosperity, but the hubris of the GOP, and especially the progressive wing of the GOP, wrought great harm to the nation, and the young idiots in the voting population had not lived through the crises of the 60s, 70s, and early 80s to know what harm progressive policies had caused. And they could not see how it was progressive policies–espoused by progressive Democrats AND Republicans–that caused the financial crisis of 2008. So they voted in progressives and it will take a while for them to realize that was an error.
I do agree that we will probably have to endure a total collapse of the economy and the horrid social upheaval, perhaps even a civil war, before we get through this. IF we survive it.

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 11:52amWe’ve had 13 POTUSs in my lifetime, and while I have disagreed with many of their policies, Obama is the first that I truly believe does not want the best for this country — not only that he doesn’t want the best for it, but that he wants to destroy it. The Republican party MUST, in the future, give its FULL support to those House and Senate candidates that pledge to uncompromisingly fight those who would transform this country into a Marxist nightmare.
On another note, am I the only one here that is sick to death of The Blaze’s stupid “guess who” headlines?

Only places like Cuba, North Korea, China, Iraq, Venezuela or other 3rd world nations have authoritarians get reelected. The US can now join that club. Just shows that 90% of the American population shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Many can’t even read or write. They have no idea what they are doing. They just vote for the Democrat that will give the most freebies to them. They have no stake in society as they are just parasites. That combined with millions of 3rd world aliens flooding into the US from Latin America to ensure the Democrats stay in power indefinitely. The Dems block any laws that try to prevent their voter fraud as a result.
The US is finished and is just a matter of time before Obama and the commies go for their all out power grab.

Do you have any idea what happened in Waco April 19, 1993? Unless you are a high level federal agent it would be pretty damn hard to “pull a Waco” and order the execution by cremation of 76 innocent men, women, and children.
Not to put words in NoMore’s mouth, but what I think NoMorePC1972 is getting at is there’s a lot more Waco’s coming, and just like in 1993, there’s nothing any of us can do to stop it. So you best get your life in order and surround yourself with good people because the fire is coming and whether you’re Dr. Martin Luther King or Malcolm X, many you love will share the same fate and possibly you as well. Prepare both mentally and physically for the tribulations and persecutions that are coming as this isn’t even the beginning, we’re just now getting to the end of the prologue.
Just be aware that our federal government will be burning Gandhi’s and King’s at the stake. So be peaceful, don’t comply, and prepare your mind for martyrdom. It’s how it ended for Dr. King and how it will end for many of us, no matter how peacefully we refuse to comply.

He said its cause of peoples apathy that this can happen. I reminded him of the voter apathy over the election that has caused us all this stress. When a county or voter area has 140% more ballots cast than actual people living in said area or even if there is 100% voter turnout, all for the same party, something stinks. But the folks will say let it go it’s over. Well here we go again. Let it go it’s only assault weapons, nobody needs them..We need to get loud very loud..EHC Elections Have Consequences…We must all get in line with this gun ban, if it works it will be the beginning of total gun ban, and then a gun grab, not just an inconvenience….

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 1:23pmThe only way outside of bloodshed is for Christians to unite under a strict voting block that only vote for certain candidates who measure up for the positions within goverment. If as Christians we cleanse our houses of worship from the effect of wishy-washy non-biblical Christians and then overwhelmingly support and back only candidates that are biblically upstanding then at least we can start to see some difference.
Christians have more clout than they are aware in this country and we have allowed the enemy (Satan) to cloud our eyes in regards to right and wrong. If we wat God’s blessings we better act like it.

The problem is, as long as they want to be liked by the former, there will be no hope. After all, when you look at what has taken place since the 2010 elections is just incomprehensible. Supposedly, the American people made a statement that enough was enough. So, what was the GOP’s solution? Kick and place nice and roll over and play dead. Heck, they just did it again. If they really want to win and right the ship, they have it in their power to start now.
Here’s how to change the tide. First of all they need to pass in the House a budget that actually cuts spending. So far, even their best proposals have been nickel and dime adjustments to the dems. Their budget should cut at least $500 billion in real spending starting immediately. Then, after passing that, they get on to all the media and sell the plan. You don’t sell it by being nice, but with urgency and pointing out the destruction the dems are doing. Then, as part of selling the plan, you stand firm and don’t even hint at negotiating and tell the libs that if they don’t accept it then they have just agreed to a balanced budget. By not raising the debt ceiling, the government has to live off the money coming in. You point out that you’ve presented ideas for bringing the debt under control and that the next move is on the dems. It’ll be interesting to see how they’d do it. But,

I was retiring from the workforce, and I looked forward to days of collecting sea shells on some sunny beach. Now, I go to the range to practice target shooting. I look for ammunition before I shop for milk and bread. Is this anything like what I dreamed “retirement” would be for me? No, it isn’t. According to Ted Bromund, security policy expert at Heritage Foundation, once a treaty is signed the parties must respect its “object and purpose” even before ratification–or if ratification does not occur. Then Obama calls in the UN “peace-keeping” forces to collect all unauthorized arms, including assault weapons, rifles, shotguns, and pistols, disarming the citizens even if it requires mass murder by foreign troops from UN countries like China and Iran where killing their own citizens means nothing. Thomas Jefferson predicted that a time would come when it would be necessary to throw off the yoke of oppressive government once again. The government is beyond corrupt right now. We need to clean out everyone. There are a few good ones but that’s it. McCain called Hilary on her BS. We need people who won’t take the bull and who are there for us. After all…….THEY WORK FOR US. They are hired by us. So they have no right at all to do anything illegal or wrong or they get FIRED. Breaking the constitution is an impeachable offense as well as firing. But it does not happen. What is that? We need to keep them in line and keep them at their word. If we keep allowing them to break all the rules…..things are going to spiral out of control. They already are out of control! Government needs to wake up and do their jobs that we hired them to do. In both parties, junior senators and congressmen are expected to spend 4 hours a day fundraising for their national committees. That includes safe districts – if you won 95% of your district’s vote, you are expected to spend 4 hours a day raising money for other districts. How do you get the best committee assignments? Either seniority (you raised a lot of money) or you raise a lot of money for your party’s congressional campaign (a spot on the House Means and Ways Committee, the most powerful one in all of Congress, costs $200,000 every two years).
Whatever side your on, it’s worth asking – for all you have to go thru to get this job, and all you have to do once you get it, what normal person would ever want it? That’s why the people you can’t trust (and I’ll gladly put Harry Reid at the top of that list) get to the top while the people you root for often retire because they get burnt out going nowhere.
I’m a liberal and I’ll make a deal right now with the Tea Party – ELIMINATE THE SENATE!!! Even if it means giving all of congress to the right, it’s a step in the right direction. It’s a worthless institution that was formed as part of a compromise meant to preserve slavery

We are already seeing what Glenn Beck called the principle of singularity, wherein multiple systems and ideas morph into one. Nearly all of western democratic governments are becoming similar European-style socialist entities of varying degrees. Eventually, they will commingle and begin assuming increasing similarities until they eventually will be all the same and we are left with one overarching world government. It isn’t hard to see it happening if you’re wiling to pull your head out of denial and look at what’s happening.

Form psychology I remember a professor telling me that a experiment was run of rats in a seal cage. The rats were given enough food, water & air for their numbers. Of course the rats multiplied. After a while there were so many rates that there was considerable crowding. There was no shortage of resources except for space. The rats attacked one another incessantly. There are 6+billion people in the earth & at present trends we will get to 7 billion.
A few months back there was the report about the game theorist predicting a a large near future conflict.
Point is one does not have to be religious or read the Bible to be concerned.
Then there is what a person can see for themselves. Did you know that the # of wars in a given year can be modeled with a Poisson distribution? Of course not, you don’t know much at all except for sarcasm. It is a waste of time to talk someone as obdurate, insensate & unschooled as you.

The easy answer to TBL10 would have been to quote scripture, which atheists often do to needle Christians for no good reason. Whether Bill Clinton believes or not, he would quote scripture and look he got much further in life than you. Bill Clinton would use honey at times. You only use vinegar & pi$$.
The scripture to quote would be Matthew 24:36 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
From that quote you can go into prepper mode as well as doing all the normal routines of life a Christian should be doing like charity, etc.

Although there are many denominations, there are no where near 1 or 2 billion denominations.
Further with some discussion on theological points that provoke schism some come be resolved rather easily & other are “above the paygrade” (That is Obamaspeak) of most people. I would argue those that are not resolvable are really not that important for lay people. They are more important for theological debating societies and matter not a whit into “getting into Heaven.
The scripture I quoted would give the person you were fulminating against pause and perhaps make them reflect regardless of denomination (interpretation).
But I see you did not want a do over you wanted to do what you always do. Come on here & post rants. Do you rant on every website that you post on?

America was founded on four cornerstones: limited federal government, personal incentive, the free market and property rights. The US has become the greatest nation on earth using these principles. Why would anyone want to fundamentally change that? On corporations, why should they be taxed at all? The profits are either saved (taxes are paid on interest), given out as salaries (income taxes paid), given out as dividends to shareholders (capital gains taxes, raise them to high and people won’t buy shares and invest in a company, which is a risk), or re-invested in capital (sales taxes). For American companies to remain competitive, they must be able to recapitalize periodically. Higher corporate taxes drives them to place their capital investments in foreign countries. If the US had NO corporate taxes, we would attract corporations (and jobs) and tax revenue from the aforementioned taxes. You are lost. Read Ludwig Von Mises, F.A. Hayek, Murray Rothbard, Frank Chodorov, Henry Hazlitt, Ayn Rand and visit Mises.org. Government can’t take care of us. Someone has to work. If you destroy the incentive to work through theft of property, there will be no one left to tax. Thus, I give you the Western European nations you want to emulate, all of them broke.

There are many examples I can give you more examples from my own experience but I’m not sure I should bother. As for people paying their “fair share” the IRS is always willing to accept more if you would like to send them a check. Your (probable) hero Buffett has always had that option. It is disingenuous of him to roll out the strawman argument of his secretary paying more then he did. If he is so convinced that he should pay more then he is welcome to do so. For me, I am tired of paying more and more taxes to support people who won’t work.

No Republican president would have survived saying something like that “bitter clingers” comment about say the inner cities but this sycophantic media gave Obama a total pass.
Next Switzerland has more lax gun control than even we do, yet one of the lowest crime rates. Unavoidable fact is that violent crime in America is substantially lower than in say Brittain and gun crimes have continued to drop, even after the expiration of Clinton assault weapon ban. Tax payer health care only works if you offer ****** health care. Any country that goes the free health care while trying to maintain some quality is going broke, as is the case in most of Europe. It’s not the sole reason by any means but it’s a massive burden every time it’s tried. Not something you should try when you’re hovering around sixteen trillion in debt already.
Finally we have the highest corporate tax in the world and taxation on capital gains is in theory, money that was already taxed once so Buffets complaints about how low his taxes are are disingenuous. Statistically the top ten percent pay the lions share of the federal governments revenue.

On other political sites, libs have said they wish folks who believe like me would “burn to death from a flaming tire around their neck”. Lib/prog politicians say we’re nazi’s and worse. And the current president has insulted folks who believe like me, lied and mis-characterized us at every turn, has done almost everything in his power to undermine everything we believe in…and he is looking for even more control.

And in todays society, its standing up for immoral and evil things. Things have been over for a very long time. As soon as elected officials stopped standing up for what is good and moral and right, it started our country’s rapid downslide.
