It wasn’t the first time House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) had to console former Notre Dame coach and ESPN commentator Lou Holtz over the concept of four more years of President Barack Obama.

During an address to the Ripon Society on Tuesday, Boehner said that Holtz required a “pep talk” following Barack Obama’s inauguration earlier this week. However, the former college coach was also distraught following his reelection in November.

“Last night, I got a three-page text from my good friend Lou Holtz, who must have watched the inaugural and then all that blabber on TV…: ‘I’m done, finished, the country’s over with — we’re not doing this again!’ Now, I had already had this conversation with Lou about nine or ten days after the election. He came in to speak to our 34 new Members. And before he went over to talk to them, he came over to my office, and he was moaning and groaning. I said, ‘Lou, would you stop it? We’re Americans, we’ll figure this out!’ And I had to spend 15 minutes giving Lou Holtz a pep talk! I had to do it again last night!”

The content of the rest of Holtz’s “three-page” text is anyone’s guess.

Now is the time to circle the wagons around the constitution, grow some good candidates on the local level, so they can eventually be strong, conservative national candidates, s we can put this ship of state back on its right course. No quitters, just true Americans.

He is merely doing what we do when we know that the roadblock is real. Reid, you think anything a republican puts together will go foward and if it does you think el presidente would sign it into law…they don’t want to cut the spending, they want to spend up…the DEMs that is…and that is the bottom line.

So yeah, I can understand the man’s frustration but he didn’t say he was giving up…and it takes WE THE PEOPLE to take a public stand to show that we do not like what is going on…get your cortex on straight.

Lou Holtz, a quitter???!!!! Wow… how about a realist. I feel sorry for the ignorance of the younger generations as older, more experienced; more educated individuals can see this man for what he is. We were taught what socialism is, were taught what fascism is, we were taught what Progressivism is. The younger generation is all about me, me, me and you have learned nothing about what has made America great. ObamaCare will destroy small business in this country and with it the middle class. It’s textbook progressivism/fascism. The middleclass worker will seek to have the cost of ObamaCare subsidized and will be driven into Unions and Major corporations to avoid having to pay the full amount of the ObamaCare tax. Small businesses will not be able to keep workers, so they will wither on the vine.

This will all come to pass if the Republicans do not take the Senate and stop this abomination before it is fully implemented. For those that think this is about healthcare for poor people are fools, it’s just like gun control is all about safety.

Love Coach Holtz – a great man and great leader. He is exactly right Those who just discount the tragedy that took place on election day need to wake up. The message loud and clear before the election was that America was at a crossroads and rightfully so because we were and the WRONG path was chosen. Our hands are tied and the commie barry is more arrogant, more determined and more “in your face” then he was the first term – he has nothing to lose and he, his minions, his Chicago thugs and yes his muslim buddies were obviously just waiting for him to win re-election and now it is just a matter of time for him to complete his transformation of this country – AND I ask who, tell me who is going to stop him? Nobody!! If we couldn’t win a election against this ruthless thug we can’t win any and in fact we even lost a little more then we had before – now keep telling me oh we’ll make it through and I say how???? Maybe all those evangelicals that prayed and then stayed home got some new message but I rather doubt it since that really was a slap in the face to GOD by not exercising their God given right.   Lou Holtz is not just a coach but has been a highly coveted inspirational speaker for many years.
  I once took a class that he was used to inspire. “Never give up, never quit, anything is possible if you keep trying, fight till the end and then get up and fight again”.
  
  Now the most positive man in our country has thrown in the towel. Not good folks not good at all.
  
  When I look at all that is happening and the division in this country things are getting grim. If I use pure logic with no emotion or personal opinion I see no way that this country will not have some type of civil war. It seem totally impossible when using logic.
