Jennifer Bingham drowned her 3-year-old baby girl in 2010, and just three years later she is walking free.

Initially deemed insane, a Stanislaus County judge now says she has regained her sanity, thus securing her freedom. Bingham admitted to killing her little girl three years ago in court and was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

“I understand why people would be upset, but what you have to understand is a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity, means not guilty,” University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law Prof. John Meyers told CBS Sacramento.

Bingham faced the easier fate with the verdict of insanity. And when the time came, instead of sending her to a mental hospital, a pair of doctors said she had regained her sanity. She was released on Tuesday.

“It may seem anomalous to people that a person who murders a child could go quote ‘free’ after three years, but what people need to remember is that if it’s a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity, don’t forget the not guilty part,” Meyers explained, adding that the doctors’ report likely played a big role in the judge’s decision.

He went on: “Since we found you not guilty, we can only keep you in the hospital as long as you’re a danger to yourself or others; and once a person is no longer dangerous, they have an absolute right to be released.”

It’s unclear whether the district attorney’s office will take any further action in the case.

  She was found out to be an uber-Democ-rat voter…they’re ALWAYS the victim!! She did it and was “found” out to be innocent from “insannity”…after a few years…she is “mirracculously” found out to be “sane” as she really was before and durring the proceedings….DUH!!

Come on people. It’s no different than abortion. It’s always insane. Anyone who rationalizes their baby is a toaster oven or anything other than is insane. “Fetus?- Oh that’s just a phase those kids go through while i figure out whether to kill it or not”

Why is she wearing a hospital gown? Is that what she was made to wear while in jail lite? Couldn’t they have a change of clothes for her when released? Will she be made to go on birth control or have her tubes tied? One baby killed….and counting.

  Answer: She registered as a democrate and votes the democratic ticket. She met all their qualifications, but primarily the insanity provision.
  
  She’ll come out with a book on ‘how to’ beauty tips for female and gay men prison inmates. Then a tell all book on how she ate her way to freedom. In her book she’ll tell how accusing a judge of rape will automtically get you a pass jail and go directly to freedom card and how to seduce a judge using intoxicants to blur a judges vision and in more way than one. In fact, the judge, would have to be legally blind to seduce her. not to mention let her go free.

Seems to me the law should be changed to guilty and insane. Just because they convince an idiot that they are “insane” doesn’t mean they are. Even so, if they “regain” their “sanity” that’s fine, now its time to do the time for the crime. After all, if they were so “insane” that they killed someone and then spontaneously they recover their sanity can’t they just go back to being insane and do it again?

Just another screwed up law dreamed up by liberal/Leftist politicians so no one is really responsible/accountable. You get more time for killing a puppy now than for killing a baby – hey, thanks to Planned Parenthood (aka Murder, Inc.) we’re at 18 million abortions and counting – God must be weeping at the deviousness of His creation.

  Probably not. If you have ever been in a mental institution or committed for any reason you can’t get a gun license. It may vary by state but I think they’re all the same. Great question though, I’ll have to look into it some more.

  According to the article see never was institutionalized. She stayed in jail for 3 years, was deemed “cured” by a Judge and Doctors and no longer insane (or a threat to herself OR others) and was never found guilty of anything.
  
  This is very strange. I’m wondering if some other (liberal political) power is in play here.
  
  If she is found ineligible to purchase a firearm it might have grave repercussions.

In NY, a man was convicted in 1981 of first-degree manslaughter in the death of his grandmother. The murderer killed her with a hammer and beat her so bad with it that the coroner couldn’t distinguish the woman’s face. This man was then released in 1988 on supervised parole, thanks to the very useless and liberal judicial court system in NY. Did these cowards in the “Justice” system actually think this man could do better in life if given a “second chance”? In 2012, this same man illegally obtained a few firearms, burns down a home, and shoots four firemen trapped inside, killing two, and leaves a note behind stating his aim was to burn down the whole neighborhood. Did these pathetic and incompetent politicians who write these laws and run the courts ever even consider that this man was mentally unstable and that releasing this maniac back into society might put society in grave danger? Nope. Most mental health institutions and facilities have been closed down. The ACLU (closet communist) organization fought for these people to freely roam the streets unsupervised and without the medical or psychiatric treatment they much needed. Now, we have to wait until these people actually do something “dangerous” before we can evaluate them, and then, when they’re in trial for doing something dangerous, we have to accept their “insanity” plea? WTH. Welcome to Liberalism.
