Reporter: Obama’s Press Corps Can’t Help But ‘Lose Their Minds’ and ‘Swoon’ When They’re in His ‘Presence’

Rolling Stone reporter Michael Hastings, joined MSNBC’s Martin Bashir on Thursday to discuss his book on the 2012 campaign. He revealed that journalists who covered President Barack Obama during the campaign became so overwhelmed by his presence at times that they would “lose their minds” and even “swoon” over him.

Hastings said a Wall Street Journal reporter once even tried to conduct an interview with Obama using a “sock puppet,” showing just how cozy the president is with some in the media.

“We know, journalists like ourselves tend to like a drink. Was she drinking somewhere?” Bashir said, not joking when he referred to himself as a “journalist.”

“But that’s the presence of Obama, even on the press corps – even on the people who follow him every day – when they’re near him, they lose their minds sometimes,” Hastings said. “They start behaving in ways that are juvenile, and amateurish, and they swoon.”

Hastings admitted that he too gets caught up in Obama’s “presence.”

“Oh, I do,” Hastings conceded. “Oh, man.”

Hastings, who first met then-Sen. Obama in Iraq in 2006, consciously decided to ask the president “soft” questions instead of the hard ones.

  Personally, I suspect anti-Christ is a label that gets put on the greatest perceived danger of a particular generation. Every generation has it’s anti-good whatever, often personified by a particular figure. Thus, it is always pointing at something real and true. If you mean it in a more literal and ultimate sense, then pick someone smarter and generally more impressive to be afraid of. This guy will do a lot of damage in part because of his ignorance and lack of ability. Much of what he get’s done will be because of other people.
  
  You are giving Obama too much credit. If there is a “real” anti-Christ, he will be a heck of a lot more impressive than this guy. Obama’s just the pretty face, watch out for Axlerod though.

  If they all got high as a kite before going in to meet with Obama, then it would actually make a lot of sense. But I fear that answer is far too simple, this sounds like something between worship and cult like activity. I would not be surprised if a bunch of journalists turn up dead at the White House with some cups of Kool-Aid, and I don’t mean that metaphorically.

How can Obama not think he is a god when the people who surround him act like he is one. This is very dangerous territory that we are in now, one I have never seen before. Never in my life have I witnessed this worship of another human being.

There is nothing Obama will do that will not be accepted by people like Hastings, Bashir, etc in the MSM. They adore this man and will see no wrong in any decision he makes. America is in for a very hard fall.

This might surprise some of you, but I think the reason they’re so sycophantic is – FEAR.

Dr. Frankenstein has been experimenting since the 1960′s, proclaiming the wonder of their works in private circles, being aware of history but naively thinking that “it can’t happen here.”

The the Creature, the sum of their works, comes to life, and they now find that they don’t know what to do or think. They KNOW their history, hence their fear. Bass terds…

In my 60+ years I have NEVER witnessed grown men and women groveling at the feet of a politician, as they’ve done for the last 4.5 years, and increasingly, since “Obama-phone” Lady won the last election.

This article gives weight to the idea that the people know lies and abnormal behavior when they see it. The problem becomes when we get married to a particular angle on a issue. We need to stay open, watchful, and use our discernment. It is the only protection we have really.
