MSNBC Host: ‘I Thank God and Country…Abortion Was There to Save Me’
During MSNBC’s “The Cycle” on Friday, co-host Toure celebrated the 40th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision to legalize abortion by telling the story of when he and an old girlfriend decided to have an abortion 15 years ago.
“In some ways that choice saved my life,” Toure said.
He said he was extremely thankful abortion was an option because wasn’t ready to be a dad and going through with the pregnancy would have just made “a mess of three lives” because she “wasn’t the one.”
“I thank God and country that when I fell into a bad situation, abortion was there to save me and keep me on a path toward building a strong family I have now. And I pray that safety net stays in place,” Toure said.
Being able to choose to have an abortion makes for a “stronger America,” he concluded.

Have such negative feelings for the likes of Toure, for his utter dark selfishness, hope he never comes within a country mile of fatherhood. Posted on January 25, 2013 at 8:59pmSeriously, what possibly could be so earthshatteringly important as to justify abortion?
For a man to say this especially is absolutely infuriating. A woman I can understand feeling inconvenienced. She has to actually go through the labor and the pain associated with it. Even that cannot possibly be enough to justify murder (note the exception if the mother’s life is on the line, and the well-known answer — this is not the case for most abortions and appears not to be here at all). This is a selfish guy (and apparently with no awareness at all of adoption??), nothing more.
How does he sleep at night? Is he ashamed?

Everyone makes mistakes. It’s how you deal with them that matters.
Adoption is an alternative & he would not have been a murderer.
Every year I see a couple begging to adopt a child & having to resort to the back street Russian & foreign routes because the American mothers jus opt to abort instead of letting a wonderful couple who want a child adopt. Why mess up your figure so your baby can have a life.

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 9:19pmGive Toure a break. He’s a big shot personality and because of it everything’s about him and righfully so (s/o). He’s definitely glad about abortions. It was easier for his girlfriend to have an abortion so he didn’t have to use a condom, plus it was much more fun and since everything is about him it was important that he be gratified. The abortion was likely his idea, for which the girlfriend saw him as a major A-hole and because of it she dumpted him. If I were her I wouldn’t have wanted his kid either and why give birth and saddle someone else with the jerk’s bastard child (just my take on it I don’t approve of abortion, I also don’t approve of Toure). She probably had nightmares that the kid was going turn into ‘the fly’ as if from some horror film, and be just like dad. Touri is today’s typical insect like self absorbed liberal. Thank God for Karma. He’ll eventually get his and when he does it’ll be like someone stuck in pin in his over inflated ballon.
If you want to attract liberals around you hang a nasty smelling fly trap, you can get at Lowe’s, from a tree and you’ll have them all over your yard. If you want to attract Touri, drive by the studio, where he works, with a fly trap attached to your car. He’ll follow you home. If your a female be sure to wear a chastity belt, especially if your eating watermelon and wearing no panties. It’s a shame his then girlfriend didn’t have such a warning.

Posted on January 26, 2013 at 11:29amI think the old adage ” Two Wrongs do not make a right” applies here. Why was he having sex outside of marriage? Why wasn’t he using protection while having sex? Why was abortion considered in this case as birth control? While I do not like the idea of abortion, I also understand that the decision to have an aborton is not mine to make. I am happy that I do not have to answer to God, my creator, or my conscience for the decision to have an abortion.
When will people realize that the whole idea of abortion was to limit the minority races in the “western” countries. Abortion was a racist idea presented by progressives in the early 19th century. It has been twisted into a “right” that is constitutionally protected.

Had you both been resposible, then you would not even be having this conversation. So instead of being in charge of nonpregnancy, you impregnated and then killed your child. God will punish you for that….you had better enjoy your selfish life now, because you will pay for this for eternity…and that is a long time.

Posted on January 26, 2013 at 3:59pmBefore Roe v Wade and 40 years ago, many women believed that a baby didn’t “start forming” until after 3 months and with Birth Control unavailable to teens and/or knowledge about how one became pregnant and when…it was the woman who stood to lose the most for carrying a baby to term. Out of wed-lock birth was a social no-no.
Then came birth control and Roe V. Wade and the 60′s free-love era. We were too stupid to realize that what this really was was: An effort to destroy the one thing that made America Strong: Our families. We had NO IDEA that of all the billions of human beings who have lived on earth, only FIVE PERCENT (5%) of us have ever lived in FREEDOM (not ruled by Dictator, King, Tyrant or some freaky Communistic govt). That FREEDOM was GOD’S gift to us for seeking Him freely. Allowing others to seek Him. Honoring Him in our Architecture, our Public buildings, our schools. Communists and others who sought to destroy America so they could CONTROL AMERICA have come at us with a many-pronged attack, a large part of this attack was to destroy FAMILIES; Man-Woman relationships; to sully our lives and encourage us to commit sins.
It’s not a choice. It’s a Baby. We didn’t create ourselves. We were created and given life by GOD. WE therefore do not have the right to take future lives.. 55 M in 40 years . Everytime we do this, we tighten the noose around our own necks as free people. THINKABOUTIT.

Posted on January 27, 2013 at 9:13pmWhen you undermine God’s word, ridiculing the principles therein and educate your children that they are the product of chance coming from apes and that there is no universal morality, but only relativity then this is what you reap. A mindset that can justify killing of the most innocent and call it good. It is the product of our godless, selfish, materialistic, immoral culture. We have sown to the flesh and are reaping the whirlwind of evil and the slaughter of our unborn. It is no different from ancient Israel that turned from God and began to worship the pagan god’s of their day that required child sacrifice on the burning arms of Molech. The only difference is that Molech has been updated to the god of inconvenience and selfishness. The deception and blindness present in our culture is maturing at an accelerating rate and intolerance for biblical values and morality will continue to become more militant and aggressive as our appetite for evil will not be satiated. Remember it’s a spiritual battle with the forces of evil blinding the minds of unbelievers. Pray for our land and pray for this man. A righteous anger and a grieving spirit is my heart toward this man who could feel so good at taking the life of his unborn child with no remorse or regret visible. How hard must his heart truly be? What have we become as a nation? How has the church failed to be the salt (preserving element) of our land?

Do they appear as they would have if they had been born, which isn’t much better, since all a newborn can do is eat and cry? Do they still look like half-formed babies but develop a wisdom and insight beyond human comprehension? That’s kind of creepy! Or do they somehow grow up in heaven into the spirits of the people they would have been? In that case, aren’t we doing them a favor? It’s hard to believe heaven could be a worse place to grow up than some dump with a stressed-out, irresponsible teenage mother. If you grow up in heaven you must turn into the best possible version of yourself. Hardly anybody on Earth does that. And you claim that all of them are in heaven. If they had been born and lived a full life surely a lot of them would have turned out to be creeps and ended up in hell. They’re really getting a good deal if they get a free trip to the reward the rest of us have to earn.

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 7:57pmHey Toure, maybe a woman’s “dominion over her own body” should begin BEFORE she engages in baby-making activities with a shameless, confused, and morally twisted individual like you.
Do you ever think about that would-be 15-year-old, and what he/she would be like if you gave him/her the chance at life in a loving, adopted family? Ever?
“Made a mess of three lives?” No, you made an emotional mess of two, and ‘terminated’ the third. Just keeping it real.

There’s no couples out there willing to adopt or anything, either. Sheesh! I don’t think people should to live with the consequences of their actions either Toure!

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 7:09pmBy that thinking, were any of the kids killed by guns trouble? If so, you should then thank guns.
People, I don’t honestly mean that, and for anyone who has lost a loved one this way, i’m very sorry for your loss.
This mans thinking clearly shows that he has a mental disorder.

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 7:09pmDid he marry that girl? Do they pray for that baby that never was? It seems to me abortion is more of a “Male Choice” not a “Woman Choice”. What guy doesn’t want sex without consequences. Just saying.

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 7:08pmI’m not a person of faith but I’m pretty sure God wouldn’t like killing another being to take the easy way out. More like he couldn’t handle the path God laid out for him and ended a life to change it.
As I said, I’m not a person of faith but what I gather from religion, him thanking God for his actions seems more like a slap in the face and a total disregard for what God was making before his eyes.

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 7:07pmI’m sure the baby feels the same way .. oh wait .. I guess not … since you murdered your own child .. how selfish .. that baby could have been put up for adoption for a loving couple to have a child and save it’s life. Perhaps that child would have gone on to do great things for mankind .. but sadly we will never know. X’s MILLIONS

Posted on January 25, 2013 at 9:50pmAgree^^, babies are a gift, wether you are religious or not. Even if you are not ready to have a child and you get pregnant for whatever reason, it does not mean you should kill an innocent child. I personally know a man and woman who have 4 beautiful children and they are financially stable adoption parents. I know how thankful they are and it is a very selfless thing to do. Murder isn’t right no matter the age of the victim…

Posted on January 26, 2013 at 8:20amMinorityConservative2: Yes, actions have consequences. And one consequence of becoming pregnant as a result of unwanted sex, or failure of birth control, or simply changing one’s mind, is that one might decide to have an abortion.
Midwest2129: Adoption is wonderful and I personally would encourage it where possible. Abortion, however, should remain an option, the earlier in pregnancy the better. The government should take a neutral stance as to which is preferable, leaving it a private choice.
DLV: Calling someone a POS is also not much of a defense of your position. I don’t know this Toure, who in any case may not be the same person now that he was at the age of 40. Also, we haven’t heard from the girlfriend, who may have her own side of the same story.
Elsewhere (you know how you can look up someone’s last 10 comments?) I have pointed out that the Japanese sometimes regard abortion as a wrong that must be righted, with retroactive adoption of the aborted baby into the family, and with tears and regrets. There are even special rituals of mourning. But there are no attempts to make women jump through hoops and meet ever more ridiculous criteria. Abortion is there if you choose it, and you must live with the consequences, which, however, do not take the form of legal penalties. Exactly as it should be.
