NRA Official: Ad With Obamas Daughters Was Ill Advised

The National Rifle Association is taking heat from one of its own after a senior lobbyist called the group’s controversial ad involving President Barack Obama’s daughters “ill-advised.”

“I don’t think it was particularly helpful, that ad,” Jim Baker, director of federal affairs at the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, told Reuters in an interview. “I thought it ill-advised.”

The ad, which was denounced by Republicans and Democrats alike, called Obama a “hypocrite” because his children are “protected by armed guards at their school.” It asked, “Are the president’s kids more important than yours?”

“I think the ad could have made a good point, if it talked about the need for increased school security, without making the point using the president’s children,” Baker told Reuters.

The Washington Post noted that while Obama’s daughters are under Secret Service protection wherever they go, their school does not actually have armed guards.

Baker said he wasn’t involved in creating the ad, but that he made his feelings known once it appeared.

“I got to say my piece,” he said. He wouldn’t tell Reuters what response he got, saying only, “Believe it or not, there are occasionally differences of opinion in this building.”

The NRA is taking direct aim at new gun control measures proposed by President Barack Obama and other Democrats. The Institute for Legislative Action urged supporters in an email Friday to “stop the Feinstein gun grab,” one day after Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) proposed a new “assault weapons” ban.

What about the add can one really disagree with. No politicians children are more important than mine, and lets not forget, Obama is our employee, we don’t work for him although I am sure he doesn’t understand that.

Obviously this guy is a Republican! God forbid if we actually point out Obama’s “hypocrisy”

God forbid if we bring up the lies , the half truths, the deceit, the brazen disregard for the Constitution, Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the shady dealings, the back room deals, the lack of transparency, the Black Panthers, the drug use, the discrepancies in the book, the constitutional appointments, the not shovel ready jobs, the lack of a budget, the Islamic childhood, the association with Rev. Wright and other left wing radicals, Acorn, the failed foreign policy, and the bailout of wall street, bank and the unions.

The GOP will never win an election again if they fail to point out Obama’s failings in a forceful way.

The NRA will not succeed in stopping the assault of our second amendment rights if the follow the Republicans methods!

Jim Baker from the NRA is just another person with some body parts smaller then peas. The mistake in the NRA ad was that they allowed the Democratics to spin this that the NRA was talking about Secret Service Protection. The Sidwell Friends School has a full time 11 man armed police force that protects the likes of David Gregory’s children.

Stop APOLOGIZING!!!! … Anyone who was upset doesn’t understand the issue and is a jackass.
THE NRA and Gun manufacturers need to start a public relations campaign educating people on the importance of gun ownership, how to responsibly use a gun and the value in owning a gun and HOW THE STUPID government can’t keep you safe and is only using and abusing people telling them otherwise or is intentional misleading people

The Ad was proper and effective.

Progressives know the Ad effectively reveals the hypocrisy of the ruling class.

Delicate men like jim baker do not belong on the front lines as they will only encourage our adversaries.

I thought we finally had an organization who had a set of big ones with guts enough to say what we’re thinking and saying. Sounds like they are scared of “O” just like all the other snakes in the grass. It’s a sad day, and if NRA doesn’t shut this idiot up, or better yet fire him, I’ll have to rethink my membership.

NRA said it and they ought to own it because they are right…..BO is a HYPOCRIT along with being a LIAR and A FRAUD. Everything about the man is hypocritical….he bankrupts the nation while costing us more to keep him on vacation than the Queen of England. He demands obedience while breaking court orders. He puts a man who made a video into prison while his Secretary of State blows off the Benghazi coverup with “what does it matter now?” He uses a tragedy in amoung school children to ban guns while he allows guns into Mexico where he CAUSED A BLOODBATH at a students party. Many young Mexicans were massacred by his own release of guns into Mexico. This man is NOTHING BUT HYPOCRICY.

EVERYTHING that comes out of Barrack Obama’s mouth……… should be classified as ill-advised

We wont even GO into what, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Harry Reid, Debbie Wasserman Schultz(Uuuuugh!), Dianne Feinstein say………..

None of them seem to have any problem saying ill-advised crap day in and day out. They LIE! 24/7 and add to the deterioration of our nation, and we’re worried about offending someone

When they complain, tell them to shove it!

Cowering and apologizing, for nothing, even when they’re right and have no reason to

While our opponents do commercials, mimicking Paul Ryan, pushing an elderly woman over the edge of a cliff and others that are just plane lies……………..

It seems like ALL OF US can see that liberals are bullies. When are we going to start treating them that way?

The ad may have not been the best. But it does point out that those that are the biggest fighters to remove our choice on how to protect ourselves and our families have protection from armed body guards. And yes my children are more important to me than his children.

Only a week or two before, Obama gave himself a lifetime six figure salary and lifetime armed protection, now he expects us to turn in our guns and pay him more taxes..enough said.
