Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Fox News have parted ways.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee’s contract as a paid network contributor has ended and will not be renewed, Fox News’ executive vice president of programming said Friday.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin. We wish her the best in her future endeavors,” Bill Shine said in a statement to TheBlaze.
A source close to Palin told Real Clear Politics, which was first to report the news, that it was Palin who “decided not to renew the arrangement.”
“It’s my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by Fox, and she decided not to renew the arrangement,” the source told Real Clear Politics. “She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.”
A Fox spokeswoman did not address those remarks in an email to TheBlaze.
Signs of friction between Palin and the network emerged over the summer when Palin took to Facebook and wrote that “Fox canceled all my scheduled interviews” during one night of the Republican National Convention.
At the time, Shine said the RNC’s condensed schedule made it necessary to bump Palin.
“Our plans changed based on the fact that the RNC condensed the schedule of speeches from four nights to three. We look forward to having Governor Palin back as soon as we can,” he said.
According to the New York Times, Palin was in negotiations with Fox News for a new contract last week. Her original contract started in January 2010 and ended this month; her last appearance on the network was in mid-December.

Jan. 25, 2013 at 11:15pmThe statement from Bill Shines seems to tell the story – I sincerely doubt it was her that declined. I will believe that when I see it. She put a lot of negative on herself by going through all the motions and keeping the possibility of her making a run and then in the end backing out and that was after she said on several occasions she could be the sorry sob we are stuck with. If she is so strong and has the backbone to take on the msm and the establishment then my question has always been why did she decide against it. And no I don’t buy the crap about the lsm destroyed her – that is playing the victim and that is what the ******** do. She can probably still be effective but think we have far better choices – don’t know what will be left of this country by 2016 but guess we can hope we can somehow survive – never be the same – but somehow survive and she can go on with her book on fitness or whatever else she chooses.

Jan. 25, 2013 at 11:06pmI really like Sarah Palin. I think she is beautiful, spirited, brave and strong. I think she is probably a lot braver than the Repubican party bigwigs and I think she has a lot more common sense than they do. I think she talks too much and doesn’t think carefully enough about what she says. I think the Republican party doesn’t care at all about conservatives but they absoutely THRIVE on whatever everyone else thinks of them. I think the Republican Party needs to hire a PR really smart and savvy team to reband them. I think with the right screen plays and writers they could brand their Republican politicians, some of them, in a survival type scenario pitted agains big government, the media, and public ignorance. I think with the right PR teams and messages this might actually help the Republican Party if those people have enough sense to even think about thinks. Please do!!!

Jan. 25, 2013 at 11:01pmFirst Beck, then Judge Napolitano, and now Sarah Palin. Still standing are the likes of Karl Rove, Bob Beckel, and Geraldo Rivera. For the past 5 years I’ve had FoxNews on 24/7. Today I tune in to FoxNews about every 24 days for 7 minutes.

Jan. 26, 2013 at 12:10amKathleen, I’m with you…Fox has changed. They scolded Beck for his reporting…on the left AND the right. Oh no, you can’t do that. Please! I’m tired of seeing the same pundits over and over. If they’re going to hire more progressives and let true conservatives go I don’t need em. I liked The Five at first but Beckel is ruining that too. He may just be one lib, but he’s an obnoxious one! When he talks about conservatives it’s alway nasty and I just don’t want to watch him anymore. You have Jesse Jackson’s daughter on there, Sally Kohn, who is a strait up George Soros protege’ , Beckel, Colmes, Kucinich, Jehma Greene, Juan Williams and I’m sure I’m leaving out several.

Jan. 25, 2013 at 10:40pmTo see all the negative comments regarding her not promoting Romney is disappointing. I thought for sure everyone had woke up and made the decision to seek out true leaders be it Libertarian or Conservative. I rather not vote and see Obama serve 1,000 years, with no blood on my hands, than make due and vote for a Rhino that is 6 degrees from Obama. Give me a true leader to vote for, or I stay home. I will not help destroy my country whether it be slowly by a Rhino, or quickly by a Liberal.

You are 100% correct FOX has consistently been going further and further left since before the 2008 elections.
I’ve only watched a couple programs in the last year because of this.
I so wish that Rush had a TV program … somewhere. I’d really like for him to start a ‘Rush TV” (similar to The Blaze TV).
The idiots over at FOX are not fooling anyone anymore … It is so obvious that they are Progressive Republicans.

Jan. 26, 2013 at 10:26amRush has wanted to be on TV for years. Think about how often he discusses being fired from ESPN – and how much that still infuriates him. At the end of the day it never happened for him which is why he doesn’t support or speak highly of any conservatives on TV (Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly etc). He is 62 now and while he will prob be on radio till he diesa lot of his creative juices have been spent. Beck, on the other hand, is really hitting stride and I can’t see GBTV failing/going away anytime soon.

Jan. 25, 2013 at 9:51pmPalin is a true victim. The republican bigwigs, to their peril, ignored her at their convention and LOST!!! Nearly everyone she has endorsed WON. I don’t know what part of success they don’t understand. Sarah is a star and would have made a fantastic V.P. not to mention she would have been a thousand times better leader than the sorry, arrogant, petulant little man we now have in the White House. She’s a person I admire and always will.

Jan. 25, 2013 at 9:42pmI’d take Beck any day over Fox. I don’t want anyone looking out for me, that’s my job. O’Reilly prides himself on that and staying neutral. Beck told him a long time ago that everything Obama did was with a purpose and intentional. We have Beck to thank for getting Van Jones out of ‘our White House’. Sean continues to have the same people on week after week. Rove, Morris, McCain…always the established GOP. Done with that! I will give the Blaze a chance. He has big plans for a ’60 minutes type show as well as a ‘night-line’ show. Allen West is a frequent guest and he’s got lots of young talent to try to engage young people to our side. He knows that’s important. No one as BlazeTV except him and the viewers. No Rupert Murdoch who BTW as no clue what our 2nd amendment is about.

I agree too about a REAL Leader having Charisma in their Personality and Independence from Others’ Opinions in their thought. Perhaps the Greatest English Speaking Statesman that ever lived, Edmund Burke, once said to a group of voters: “Your representative owes you, not his industry [hard work and efffort] only, but also his judgement, and he betrays, instead of serving you, if he sacrifices it to your opinion.” The most endearing thing about SaraCuda is, as one Conservative Wag put it just after she was nommed: “She piszes off all the right people.”

Jan. 25, 2013 at 9:22pmI think that Palin is leaving Fox probably indicates she will be running for president in 2016. I sure hope so. If not, I hope Beck can find a place for her. With Glenn and Sarah working together against the Commies, the eventual victory of American patriots over those who are working to turn our beloved country into a Soviet slave state will be assured.

Jan. 25, 2013 at 9:19pmFOX seems to be going the way of the Pravda outlets. They don’t deny some sense of reason but looks like their pandering to the left loons. The only show I still look in on Bret Bair and a couple of the morning shows. We need a real conservative cable network that tells the truth without letting the left simply spew their lies.

Jan. 25, 2013 at 9:15pmI stopped watching Fox after the horrific election coverage by Megyn Kelly. Some corporate exec over at Fox just thinks she should be a star, and pushed her into a seat right next to Bret Baier. It was an embarrassment . Palin was right to leave Fox. Let’s face it without Krauthammer, there is nothing there.

Jan. 26, 2013 at 7:30amBeck and Romney belong to the same close-knit church. Because they are such big figures, they both probably know the same people in the highest circles of that church. I can find ZERO reason why someone like Glenn Beck would give Romney cover during the primary and not talk about Romney’s progressivism after talking about how bad Gingrich and Ron Paul are……
