Goat Head Butts Florida TV Reporter, Knocking Her Down in the Pen

A Florida reporter learned the hard way never to turn your back (or side) to a goat.

WWSB-TV’s Linda Carson was signing off from a report from inside the goat pen at the Manatee County Fair in Palmetto, Fla. when a goat suddenly charged her and knocked her to the ground.

Her shocked “Auuuggghhh!” is a sound that will surely live in YouTube infamy.

Luckily, Carson got right up and laughed the whole thing off — until the goat came back for a second go-around, eliciting another shriek.

Carson said she was glad to know the sawdust and straw in the pen was fresh.

I have to agree that not every story has to be hard hitting, though provoking, breaking news. It is fun to lighten up and enjoy a laugh. With that said, did you guys see the squirrel video? I have to send my kids out of the room every time I decide to watch one of these non news stories, for fear of an “F bomb”.

Ever notice how ever since Betsy Morgan from the “Huffington post” got hired to run “TheBlaze” it never reports any real news of any real value?

The Huff Po gets 2,000 comments on a single average news story, Glen is lucky to get 200 if and when he posts anything recent of relative.

Guess Beck selling out for the money did not work out that well did it Glen?

  She was a good sport about getting rammed by a goat. You could tell the goat was thinking about hitting her again when she had her bottom right up by its face.

I guess TheFiend1 has nothing to say. Would those million plus people have ‘followed’ Glenn to DC that historic day if his show and message had been infiltrated by stupid ‘fluff’ journalism like what is being displayed on The Blaze? This isn’t a “You didn’t build that” response, but more an acknowledgement that We The People hold him and this site to a higher standard.. . it’s what he promised us. “I won’t waste your time”. So keep your farts, and texting while walking, and goat stories, since you need them to cope. Glenn doesn’t need me and I certainly have neither the time or importance to make a difference. “Lighen up” (Miss Fiend1) . . . and enjoy your Shep farting stories and stupid people walking and texing and falling into water video’s and these goat follies. I deserve and want better.

  A little humor is OK to break up the bleak news stuff… the goat thing was a little funny. But I agree, The Shep “Farting” and squirrel uttering obscenities are super WEAK, sophomoric and not funny unless you’re 12 years old. I’m also bothered by the “flesh and hooters” that’s increasingly all over the advertising on this sight. I cancelled my subscription to a clean traditional magazine because the publisher enclosed ad sheets into the shipping package for a racy “Men’s” magazine. It dishonors my love and appreciation for my wife to have that in my house.
  Sadly, the direction of the Blaze seems headed that way too, so:
  I’m not recommending anybody sign up for The Blaze TV or visit this site until the quality of taste in content and advertising banners rises above this garbage.

At any rate, TheFiend1, I forgot to mention that extrordinary journalism piece the other day about Shep Smith farting – bet you enjoyed that ‘lighten up’ piece (Miss TheFiend1) right? Oh, you make such a good point. Stories about goats head-butting, and texting/walking and falling into water, and Shep Smith Farting, I mean, wow, where else but The Blaze can I get pieces like that to just totally brighten up my day? Seriously.

  Agreed MacPappy Contrary to our ‘friends’ here like TheFiend1 and others, this site is sadly not like it use to be. This use to be one of the top sites to be informed of events and news that were not available else where or at the least were read here first. The Blaze does (or did) stand for something. Seriously, (TheFiend1) if you want ‘fluff’ there’s loads of it out there. Another stupid texting while walking video or as we have today, the goat-butting reporter story does not serve the intention of this site. If the editors want more of this, then file it under a newly designed ‘fluff’ section.
  
  The explosion at Iran’s Fordo nuclear site should be important. Also more important than goats and stupid people texing and walking and falling into water, would be the continually ignored slave trading going on in Sudan. Or the U.N.’s 10 million spent on a ceiling mural for their HQ in Europe last year or their culpability for the cholera outbreak in Haiti, or the $3 Trillion estimate worth of lithium in Afghanistan and their rare gem deposits that China will make a move on. Or the freezing weather and people still with out power and shelter on our East coast after Sandy. Imagine if Bush was President and these conditions on Staton Island continued to be unaddressed? No, I don’t want to see a goat head butting a TV reporter and knocking her down – (unless the reporter is Andrea Mitchell or Rachel Maddow) Come on Blaze, this site is deteriorating. An explosian was reported at one of Iran’s nuclear sites Monday causing significant damage and over 220 workers trapped, and you give us goat-butting reports. Really? I think that goat needs to **** a few heads on your editorial staff. What say you Scott?
