Farrakhan Condemns Gun Ownership in a ‘Volatile America’: ‘There Is No Need for the American People to Be Armed to the Teeth’

On Sunday, the Minister Louis Farrakhan continued his 52-week sermon series entitled, “The Time and What Must Be Done.” In his third installment, the Nation of Islam leader tackled gun control and his views on a “volatile” U.S. populace. He claimed that the American people are increasingly unhappy with their government and that they are simultaneously arming for war. In addition to making these observations and accusations, Farrakhan dismissed the modern-day application of the Second Amendment as well as the need — and right — for Americans to arm themselves.

“Look at the American peoples’ thoughts about Congress. What is the percentage of the American people that feel that the U.S. Congress is doing a good job. Eleven percent,” he said. “Then 89 percent of the American people are angry, disaffected, dissatisfied with their government — and you’re selling them weapons of war and the militias are multiplying.”

Considering Farrakhan’s recent comments about the American people — that they are “savage,” “brutal” and “uncivilized” — it’s no surprise that he is skeptical about guns and the notion that “angry” citizens could use them to wage “war.” After making these curious comments, the fiery faith leader delved into his intriguing views about gun control. Of particular note, he gave a “history” lesson that some gun enthusiasts will certainly take issue with.

“See, the right to bear arms was given at a time when there was no regulated militia to protect America,” he said. “But now you have police well-armed, you have state troopers well armed, you have the National Guard and you have federal troops.”

Farrakhan continued from there, claiming that “there is no need for the American people to be armed to the teeth if you have a responsible militia to protect the society of the United States.” He also noted his dismay over the number of weapons owned (his figure: 350 million) versus the number of Americans (nearly 314 million).

While one would assume that the gun control touting would continue from there, Farrakhan next attempted to tie together his discussion about firearms with a defense of leaders from nations like Libya and Syria — countries he believes the U.S. shouldn’t have “meddled” in. The rest of his diatribe, while somewhat confounding, can be read, below:

“Over 350 million guns are in the possession of the American people with a population that has not reached 350 million. And as anger toward the U.S. government increases, do you think that you too will do exactly what you accused Ghaddafi of Libya of doing? You said he killed his own people he’s unfit to rule. You say Assad is killing his own people — he’s unfit to rule.

But what was done by your meddling in the affairs of these nations? Well nobody has to meddle in the affairs of America, because the people are dissatisfied with their government.”

    This idiot Farracan’t doesn’t even know the definition of the word “militia,” or even the term “well regulated.” He obviously doesn’t know that the militia is everybody NOT in any regular army or service.

    Maybe he should throw the black liberation dictionary away and buy a Webster.

    Little miss Farakahn (the man) is looking a lot less black than he pretends to be… what percent is he anyway… he sure isn’t Congo black (it says congo on the map… it used to say Zaire… was likely something else before that). If you don’t like it here, seeing as you are not trying to make things better here, feel free to sit down and shut up… your hate filled rhetoric is rubbing off on everybody that has to listen to you diatribe.

    Farackan (deliberately misspelled) is a moron… and insult to the prophet… thousands of blacks are killed each year by other blacks… not a word about it from this pretend leader of his people… blacks (A MINORITY OF 12% counting the half black and even less black than that) kill more whites than whites kill blacks… each year (feel free to check the DOJ and FBI data)… no one has exercised more restraint when it comes to guns than law abiding white Americans… clearly blacks are too lazy to do the same… keep living the stereotype you backwards, trash talking, dullards… guns are not the problem… loudmouths like screwy louie “x” and his like minded gutter riders are the problem (they appear to be predominately democRATS…

      … prognosticators of doom and gloom (like fairykahn) should be made to take one for the team (instead of demanding anyone but him take one for the team)… on an unrelated topic, wasn’t it a black comedian that speculated MLK said, “I have a dream… and a head wound…” I remember a black comedian saying that… what was his name? No Jesse Jackson was the one that got MLK to stand on the balcony waiting for Jesse to put on a tie for dinner (something he should have known to do)… he must have been helping whom ever shot MLK by giving him a non moving target?

    ( ( ( I call “COW POOP” ! ) ) ) MLK told his followers that slave could not own defensive weapons. Slaves are not permitted to defend themselves.. MLK told his followers to leave their guns at home whenever they were peacefully marching.

    Oh that Louie, He is such a comedian. Did he mention his own security detail is “armed to the teeth” to protect him. Guess Louie believes his personal protection is more important than everyone else. He is no different than the talking heads in Congress wanting to ban guns. All of them have security details protecting them with the same guns they want to ban. Someone in the media needs to ask Diane Frankinstein if her security detail has “Assault Weapons” with larger then 10 round magazines…..

    Ahhhh but we do need to be “armed to the teeth” to protect ourselves from people like you Louie. Chances are quite good that Obama and Louie are in cahoots on the gun grab to make their eventual “take over plan” less threatening. Now this thug is weighing in.     By far the most remarkable similarity between those pushing for gun control is that they are nearly all like this creep. They want to destroy the USA. Much easier to defeat after disarmament. Enough Americans understand that for now. We have at least two generations of 99% useful idiots though.

    There may or may not be a “need” for the American people to be “armed to the teeth”…we could debate that until the cows come home.

    But ultimately it makes no difference if there is a “need” or not…because we have a right to be “armed to the teeth” if we so choose.

    We are guaranteed that right in the second amendment to the Constitution….and that right shall not be infringed upon.

    In other words, there is no debate, no legislative process, no executive order, no discussions, no politicians or political parties that can take away our right to be “armed to the teeth”.
