Horrific Reports of People Cooking & Eating Their Children — and Digging Up Corpses — Come Amid NKorean Famine

North Korean Famine Allegedly Leads People to Kill & Cook Their Children | Cannibalism

In this undated photo released by the Korean Central News Agency and distributed Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 in Tokyo by the Korea News Service, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un attends a consultative meeting with officials in the fields of state security and foreign affairs at undisclosed location in North Korea. While it’s certainly not the first allegation of cannibalism to come from North Korea, it’s equally as disturbing as those that preceded it. Troubling reports of a rise in starvation — and cannibalism — have emerged inside of a nation that continues to be intensely-secretive and shut off from the wider global community. According to an independent outlet called Asia Press, North Koreans are so desperate that they are increasingly turning to corpses and even murdering their own children for food.

One man allegedly dug up his grandchild’s corpse and ate it. Another purportedly killed and boiled his child for food. Of late, yet another individual has reportedly been executed for killing two of his children for the same purposes.

“In my village in May a man who killed his own two children and tried to eat them was executed by a firing squad,” one informant said of the latter incident.

According to the source, the father killed his daughter while his wife was away on business. Then, he killed the son because the latter child had witnessed his sister’s murder. When the wife came back from her trip, her husband said that they now had “meat.” After becoming suspicious, she contacted authorities who later discovered parts of the children’s bodies.

The “hidden famine,” as it has been called in North and South Hwanghae, is what appears to be driving this alleged horror. According to the Daily Mail, up to 10,000 individuals have lost their lives due to a lack of food — a figure that encapsulates the extreme desperation that may be driving the unthinkable.

Of course, the secretive and insular nature of the North Korean government makes it difficult to ascertain definitively whether instances involving human beings consuming one another are actually on the rise as some sources have claimed. Asia Press, the independent outlet issuing these reports, describes itself as a media venue that is trying to be “free from any dependence on capital and authority.”

While outlandish and unbelievable, this isn’t the first time the international community has heard similar stories. In the past, numerous reports about cannibalism have come from North Korea. The Daily Mail highlights some of these past instances:

In May last year, the South Korean state-run Korean Institute for National Unification said that one man was executed after eating part of a colleague and then trying to sell the remains as mutton.

One man killed and ate a girl and a third report of cannibalism was recorded from 2011.

Another man was executed in May after murdering 11 people and selling the bodies as pork.

In Oct. 2011, TheBlaze reported about Kim Hye Sook and the unbearable pain and emotional suffering that she endured during her 28-year detention in a secretive North Korean concentration camp. Brutal executions, starvation — even mothers killing and eating their children to ensure their own survival — were regular occurrences.

In an interview with CBN News, Sook recalled a mother boiling her 9-year-old daughter. In a separate fit of desperation, a woman killed her 16-year-old son, chopped him up and took him to a butcher to obtain some corn in exchange.

No sympathy from me. The people of that forlorn country far, far out number the fat pigs at the top and their obediant military. Look at Egypt, the people protest their govt. and changes can be made. While it’s not exactly the same, the citizens of N. Korea could bring about change but, admittedly, not without high cost in lives.

It is the highest cost to be paid when your government takes your guns. North Korean civilians are not allowed to have guns and having been weakened by starvation they can’t throw rocks very hard or very far.

Starvation is insidious. It’s a pain that never goes away, an itch that can never be scratched, it preys on your mind, every second of every day, until your stomach is satisfied.

It’s an elemental type of suffering that will drive people absolutely mad.

Add to this, the suffering of watching your loved ones wither away in pain and despair…you have a recipe for absolute desperation. Men will do anything to save themselves and their families. People become animals, they will kill, steal, and do anything to live just one more day.

    Prepare yourself people.

    (1) Start working on a year of dehydrated food, just buy a little at a time.
    (2) Get out of the big cities if you can.
    (3) Buy enough weapons and ammo to protect yourself, and your possessions.
    (4) Learn a few survival skills.
    (5) Learn a cottage industry skill. Somthing that would be useful in tough times.
    (6) Ask yourself lots of “What if” questions. If your answers are not satisfactory, make the changes you need to make them satisfactory.
    (7) Involve your neighbors if you can. An individual no matter how well prepared is vulnerable. A community well prepared is as strong as steel. It just doesnt’ get any better.

Ranger1965 (that was a good year):
I’ve been stating your exact words for that past four years. But, most people believe nothing so drastic will happen here in the U.S. They think they will always be able to jet off to the local grocery and get what they need or buy it on the internet. When people have been lulled into believeing they cannot be put into a situation, such as North Korea or the Ukrain back in the “old days”, you will find a populace of people who do not understand reality and when thrust into that reality, they will not know what to do. They will eventually kill to survive. But sadly, people of the U.S. will not consider what is coming and will continue to tune in to the propaganda like Dancing With The Stars and Honey Boo Boo. These same people will not realize what is happening until it’s too late. Then they will be trying to break down the doors of those of us who know the score and thus, the bloodshed will start. Sad but true.

I would add that people should get some stuff for barter, like junk silver. I’ve heard that some people are getting whiskey and cigarettes stored up for barter as well.

Also, people should keep enough cash on hand to take care of immediate needs.

People mock preppers, but the mockers should realize that when they’re hungry and don’t have anything to trade for food, most preppers will be happy to give them a bullet for free.

So the post about Planned Parenthood using aborted fetuses to feed hungry North Koreans got deleted.

      WHY?

If a movie like Soylent Green can be made & be discussed, why not eating fetuses? If you can talk about eating humans, why not dead small humans?

It is not even that bad. Liberals do not consider fetuses humans. So by the liberal theology it is not cannibalism. So how can it be a smear against Planned Parenthood & liberals. If it is not a smear, then why should the post be deleted?

There is also a more recent movie you may have missed called “Dumplings.”. It is a Chinese movie that came out just a few years ago that deals with cooking and eating fetuses. The fetuses are the meat in the dumplings and are suppose to have a youth rejuvenating function.

To the credit of the file maker, however, it is considered a horror movie.

You think our devastated military has the manpower to get into another war? Where would we get the manpower and where would we get the money to sustain another war? If China were to intervene as they did during the Korean War it would quickly evolve into WWIII, is that what you think we need to get into? As long as North Korea is led by a group of lunatics with no regard for their own people and a paranoia that we would do just what you advocate we do, they will spend every penny they can grab on weapons instead of food for their people. It is a bad situation but the time that America can right every wrong in the world is past tense. Our country is barely able to sustain itself, we can no longer be the policeman of the world.

That is an absolutely TERRIBLE idea, for many reasons. Among them: the people we’re coming to “liberate” would be the cannon fodder used against us; the one thing North Korea does well is use their weapons (usually just against their own people); China would never let us get away with it; the entire country is riddled with underground cave and bunker systems. We’d lose soldiers clearing every cave, or spend millions to blow every single one up.

Invading North Korea is terrible advice. If you think it would help solve this problem, you’re right – only in that there would suddenly be many less mouths to feed.

I would rather not have to kill young conscripts who have been fed a lien of bull or have to decide whether to flee, rebel or fight for whatever oligarchy.

I have seen whole peoples desiring war. Europe was that way in the summer of 1914. The journalists helped stoke it up. By Christmas peace would have broken out if the common man would have had his way.

Start at the top of the organization pyramid & work your way down. You will not have to go too far down.

Hi MONK, as gruesome as that sounds, it is funny after all. Good catch on your part.
As for her age, I have to wonder why she was imprisoned at the age of 13. But, at the Mariel Boat Lift I meet a grown man whose mother was a prostitute who had worked for the Batista government. Pregnant, she was imprisoned by Castro where she gave birth to him. Since he was born in prison, that is where he remained until he was one of the early prisoners released to the boat lift to help clear the prisoner population. First we received prisoners who were involved in lesser crimes, many of which we would never consider as crimes. Then later, came the truly hardened criminals. But, can you imagined being born in prison to remain a prisoner because your mother was an employee of the former government? We also had people claim to have been imprisoned for having more than roughly ten ounces of meat in their homes during a one week period. Another was a father and son imprisoned because the son got into a playground fight with the son of an Army Lieutenant who was also a card carrying loyal Cuban Communist Party.

What do you call a Korean family with two dogs? Ranchers. I don’t say this to any way poke fun at an ethnic group, but it did apply to the uber harsh times that the Koreans have been put through from the time the Japanese invaded them and made an attempt to deforest the entire nation. Followed by even more harsh times during the Korean War, now followed by what Communism has done to North Korea and it’s people. Its not a joke, but reality for these people.
