Another Massive Military ‘Training Drill’ Involving Helicopters Spotted in Houston, Texas — Watch the Raw Footage
Following reports of a military exercise occurring in Miami this week, KTRK-TV shot video of military-style helicopters roaming the skies in Houston, Texas. There have also been several reports of gunfire in the area.
The U.S. Army tells KTRK-TV that they are overseeing a “multi-agency training drill” at the old Carnegie High School on Houston’s south side. There were reportedly armed men in fatigues, a lot of firearms and what many believed were real live rounds.
The Army did not give any additional details regarding what the training is all about or why it is being conducted in Houston.
KTRK-TV provides some raw footage of the apparent training drill:
One local resident, Frances Jerrals, didn’t understand what was happening when she saw military helicopters flying over her southeast Houston neighborhood.
“When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst,” Jerrals told KTRK-TV.
“I felt like I was in a war zone…It was nonstop. I was terrified,” she added.
Another resident said the Army should do a better job of alerting the locals before they conduct such an alarming training drill.
A statement from police in Miami-Dade County argued the training exercise in Miami was “routine” and “designed to ensure the military’s ability to operate in urban environments, prepare forces for upcoming overseas deployments and meet mandatory certification requirement.”

Posted on January 29, 2013 at 4:59amSorry, but I don’t buy that this is just some innocent training mission.
1. The military has bases appropriate for any training scenario they might need to run. Why are they doing this in populated cities? What can the landscape of Houston or Miami possibly teach them about the Middle East or other hot spots?
2. Not all members of the U.S. military are American citizens – even SF Operators, so don’t assume loyalty.
3. Not all members of Special Operations teams are U.S. military – Spec-Ops teams are global nowadays – so don’t assume loyalty.
4. THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE REASON AT ALL FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT TO BE PART OF THIS TRAINING (If it is truly just for operational readiness in foreign theaters.)

“Hometown” security is apparently the message that the new DHS wishes to convey.
Maybe an “official” explanation will be forthcoming. I can most assuredly guarantee that it will be spun as a measured proactive rehearsal to respond as action, which the public demanded from Washington.
Cameras, Drones and twenty-four hour surveillance to keep you safe. Our big brother is done with our getting bloodied. He will do whatever it takes, to protect our over-medicated, outcome based education, insecure little, one parent, latchkey children, from commiting heinous things again.
Grief counselors and major depression medications will continue to be provided to those unable to cope. (My facetiousness is not meant to be cruel, but merely to point out that “medication” is now the new normal.)
It doesn’t matter if people are abusing prescriptions, or self medicating with alcohol or the curb store pharmacy. This society has become extremely dysfunctional.

Posted on January 29, 2013 at 1:58am@EFREM; The town square, county seat or city hall are the officially recognized locales the founding fathers spoke of for “Free assembly.”
Those are your local assembly points legally provided by the Constitution of the United Stated of America. No matter if any liberal mayor or socialistic city council decree attempts to disband, even by force, it is fraudulent. You are allowed to assemble as local citizens, Day or Night.
This shall not be infringed upon. You are allowed to organize, appoint your own spokespeople, and any grievances you have must be officially given a hearing in a public forum, with reasonable accommodations made to any and all parties having an interest in their government and it’s elected or appointed officials. “Timely” is one day.
A consortium of townships, cities and municipalities may then take their grievances to the State, Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level, if the issue or grievance was not resolved or addressed at the local level.
Next would be petition by the Governor to an appointee agreed upon by each of the original consortium, to bring the matter to The speaker of the House, as a “matter of great importance to the people of the State of: (Your State here).”
A failure to attempt the “preeminence of the state” provision by failure to petition through delegation first will open up a can of worms of: CIVIL INSURRECTION and Invocation of Executive order to quell a rebellion. Tyranny only has to appear to have the fac

Either the same consideration is not being given to these other venues, or people are not paying attention to their local news. But i do find the sheer number of such training exercises a bit disturbing. I would think the feds could build training sites that would not impinge on the daily activities of urban areas.

Posted on January 29, 2013 at 12:56amWhatever the underlying motivation for this training exercise…The reality is that it took place in view of cameras which are not usually privileged to any covert ops training.
The military has at their disposal, mock-up urban environments, and have had them for decades.
The waters are being tested for public acceptance of the physical presence of “military type” operations in traditional American Backyards.
A future operation would only have to appear as actual U.S. Combat/ or Guard Troops. Sort of like a 100 foot paint job on a used car, it looks convincingly legit–But only from a distance.
With Gun control a front and center issue, and School Children’s safety at the front of the National debate on second amendment rights, now would be the time to(feign)-Implementing additional “security” measures while promoting the “general welfare of the public.”
The tragic deaths of innocent children has torn at the hearts of all, but even though we shed tears for the victims of these crimes, we must not become blinded from the smoke of those whose agenda consider it fortuitous. Relying on public anguish may be the catalyst necessary to disarm one-third of the country, with a rush of hasty ill conceived legislation to solve the epidemic of violence against the young people of this country.
Interestingly more than one professional physician has pointed out the most telling common denominator in these mass murders: Prior Med treatment for behavioral disorders,

Posted on January 29, 2013 at 12:53amFrom Plato’s book:
”Won’t he smile in welcome at anyone he meets, saying that he’s no tyrant, making all sorts of promises both in public and in private, freeing the people from debt, redistributing land to them, his followers, and pretending to be gracious and gentle to all?”
However after a series of unpopular actions, including stirring up a war, the leader begins to alienate some of his most ardent advisers who begin to voice their misgivings in private. Following a purge of these advisors the tyrant attracts some of the worst elements of the state to help him rule.
As the citizens grow weary of his tenure the tyrant chooses to attract foreigners to resupply his dwindling bodyguards. The citizens finally decide they’ve had enough and begin to discuss rebellion.
At this point in the story the student asks his teacher incredulously: “What do you mean? Will the tyrant dare to use violence against [the people] imprison or to hit [them] if [they] don’t obey? The teacher answers,
”Yes – once he’s taken away [the people's] weapons.”

The Republic “experiment” is Greek, in it’s origin and lamentably cyclical in it’s birth, life and death.
A bloodletting has always followed it’s beginning birth pangs and death throes.

Posted on January 29, 2013 at 12:30amSome people here need to get some fresh air. These police and military exercises are probably preparations for the inevitable showdown with Iran. It’s probably going to happen. When it does, we will be dealing with hezbollah right here in the USA, with many of them being US citizens. They are the preferred weapon of Iran. Think about things like truck bombs in bad places, dirty bombs, biological agents, power grid disruptions, and so on. It will be necessary to shoot US citizens, and round up US citizens, and quarantine large areas where people won’t necessarily want to stay. Somebody has to be ready to deal with it. Obama will try to use this for political gain, but with mass casualties he will have to worry about a lot more than political points.

@MIKE76….Hezbollah attacks enemies in their own counties, or in other words they will attack HERE. That is what they do, and we know they are already here. That being the case, why would the police not be involved? This is not WWII where our population will be insulated from the war.
