A Week Late, Obama Calls to Congratulate Netanyahu on Election Win (Guess How Long it Took to Call After Egypts Morsi Won?)

It took nearly a full week, but President Barack Obama on Monday called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to congratulate the Israeli leader on his election win last Tuesday.

This is the readout of the phone call from the White House:

President Obama spoke today by telephone with Prime Minister Netanyahu to congratulate him on his party’s success in winning a plurality of Knesset seats in Israel’s recent election.  The President indicated that the United States looks forward to working with the next government.  He also reiterated his commitment to the deep and enduring bonds between the United States and Israel, and pledged to work closely with Israel on our shared agenda for peace and security in the Middle East.

Still, despite his tardiness, Obama in fact was the only world leader to have congratulated Netanyahu thus far, according to the Israeli paper Haaretz.

Still, other bloggers pointed out that it took Obama only hours to phone Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi on his election win over the summer.

The frosty relations between Obama and Netanyahu have been widely reported, and there was even evidence President Obama tried to influence Israelis to vote against Netanyahu. This came in the form of an apparent leak reported by the well-connected Bloomberg columnist Jeffrey Goldberg just one week before the elections. Goldberg wrote that Obama had told “several people” privately that Netanyahu’s policies were self-defeating and causing Israel to be isolated. Goldberg claimed that Obama said repeatedly to his confidents that “Israel doesn’t know what its own best interests are.”

The poor relations characterization was emphasized further on Monday by former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk who told Israel’s Army Radio that the two leaders have “bad chemistry.”

The Jerusalem Post provided quotes from the interview, in which the former ambassador encouraged both leaders to try to mend their relations:

With regard to Obama’s state of mind, Indyk said that he believes, “President Obama is feeling quite frustrated because he rightly feels that he has done the right thing by Israel, but Israel is not responsive.”

Indyk suggested that once Netanyahu has formed his new government, he should “reach out to President Obama and try to turn a new page.” He added that the “relations between the United States and Israel are more important than the differences between the two leaders.” Referring to these tensions, which have been widely reported, Indyk said that the two heads of state “need to overcome them.”

At a press briefing after the phone call, White House Spokesman Jay Carney characterized the call as “warm” and said: “This country’s commitment to Israel’s security is unshakable and has been reflected in this administration’s commitment to Israel’s security.”

“It is also the case that in his first term, there is no leader with whom this president has had more conversations than Prime Minister Netanyahu,” Carney added.

Obama’s contempt for Israel is written all over his face.
The common goal of the muslim is the destruction of Israel and the great satan/America.

The believers ( of Allah) may not take the unbelievers for their allies in preference to those who believe. Whoever does this has nothing to do with Allah unless he does so in order to protect himself from their wrong-doing Quran 3:28

And they (infidels) schemed, and Allah schemed (in opposition to them): and Allah is the best of schemers.” Qur’an 3:54

Sound like anyone we all know?
btw Allah fits the description of the workings and schemes of the devil as he is described in the bible to a T.

@ ISHSHAH- Obama calls himself a Christian and the Christian Bible has the exact same quotes you posted from the Qur’an:

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

Luke 19:27 But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and kill them before me.

Yes but the bible does not sanction lying as a means of achieving one’s goal or for that matter using deception.
Luke 19:27 is speaking of all those who swore allegiance to God but when the timr came to honor their word they revealed that it was nothing more then lip service.
Luke 12:49 seems to suggest that he is referring to the removal of all those things that are temporal as opposed to those things that cannot be moved. But this could only take place after his crucifixion. hence the words, How I would that it were already kindled! (But first) I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!

Obama’s claim to be a follower of Christ is hardly credible. He has stated with his own words that is sides with the muslim. ““I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” page 261 from Obama’s book Audacity of Hope.

@ ISHSHAH- The Bible does sanction lying:

1 Corinthians 9:20-23 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

If you pretend to be something you’re not in order to get others to do what you want, you are a liar.

Paul, says in order to win souls for God, it’s okay to lie.

SirhanSirhan, your bible illiteracy is showing.
The passage you sited in no way supports deception or lying.
Paul, an orthodox Jew, lived by the law that prohibited him from associating with non Jews.
The bible itself makes reference to what 1Corinthians 9:20-23 is conveying in the life of Peter who when called to meet with a gentile ‘not under the law’ named Cornelius, said; “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with a Gentile or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.” Acts 10:28

Zionism as a whole never embraced Nazism. The Palmach was formed by Zionists with British assistance in anticipation of the nazis invading Palestine. Only Lechi, a radical fringe group, openly sought cooperation with Hitler. And before you mention the Trasfer Agreement, that happened in 1933, before Hitler was anything more than any other antisemitic ruler.

Besides, weren’t you criticizing Zionists of not accepting a nazi offer in 1942. Damned if you do damned if you don’t, right Jerk?

Confusing dreams with reality. The simple fact is that most of the world pays attention to Israel and that the vast majority of world leaders feel the need to meddle in the affairs of this supposedly insignificant nation. From where I’m standing it almost seems like much of the world just can’t give up on the millennium old tradition of being able to control and subjugate the Jews as a minority. They just can’t allow Jews to live independently of non-Jews. It was okay when Israel was incredibly outmatched by its neighbors and they could be Israel’s defenders, but the moment they become capable of fending for themselves the world suddenly decides they’re to aggressive and need to be suppressed for their own good.

Even you yourself, who claims to want nothing to do with Israel, feel the incessant need to demonize everything Israel does. Why is that? Is it too much knowing that Jews don’t have to do as you say? Can’t stand the fact that they can actually make their own decisions?

Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. One could make a stronger argument that it is the Jew who seeks control… at a minimum, an equally valid argument. So, next time you criticize one for putting forth that argument, think of your statement.

Second, I speak so incessantly about Jews and Israel precisely because that extreme minority and that two-bit nation is overwhelmingly and asymmetrically placed at the center of our media’s coverage. It’s one of disproportion, as is their influence in our media and economics.

Israel has the third largest number of companies traded on the NY stock exchange. They are hardly insignificant. We pay more attention to Japan than to India for similar reasons. It’s basic economics: Israel is often spoken of because people want to hear about it.

Also I wasn’t suggesting a conspiracy, I was merely expressing that I perceive an unusual level of interest in Israel (which is why it’s spoken of in the media) and suggested that perhaps some habits or situations, such as Jews not being able to fend for themselves, became the accepted norm that many have yet to get passed.

Tzion: “Israel has the third largest number of companies traded on the NY stock exchange. They are hardly insignificant.”

They also have their hands around the throat of the world power’s economy. When you have that kind of power it’s easy to gain more power. Problem is, historically people catch on. They are slow, but they begin to realize the scam. Jewish history is replete with proof, though they always claim to be the victim. Look, it’s the Abram phenomena.

Abram goes to Egypt with his wife Sarah and his clan, when he fails in Canaan. The Pharaoh graciously welcomes him and his clan, as Abram pimps his wife to the Pharaoh; telling the Pharaoh that Sarah is his sister. Abram does this for power and wealth, the Jewish way.

When the Pharaoh realizes the scam, he magnanimously permits the liar and his whore to leave Egypt, with all of their ill gotten wealth. He could have legitimately killed both, but he did not. So, who’s the Jewish hero? What’s the moral lesson in this Jewish story? Who’s the bad guy?

The Jewish liar and the whore are the heroes. The moral message is that a Jew can do anything to acquire wealth and power, provided that it is not done to another Jew. And, here’s the real kicker, the gracious and magnanimous Pharaoh is the bad as guy. Go figure.

The USA supports Israel and keeps it safe? How is that exactly? Oh sure they funded Iron Dome (which Israel designed itself) but the US also funds Palestinians and the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama facilitated the downfall of Mubarak, who maintained peaceful relations with Israel, but drags his feet when it comes to bringing down Assad, who despises Israel. He also interfered in Israel attempts to wipe out the terrorists attacking their citizens, and is now pressuring them into ignoring the primary financier of Israel’s enemies, Iran.

With friends like Obama, who needs enemies. All Obama has done is ensure that neither side wins so he can continue to control the entire region. And he wasn’t the first to do it either.

Obama was praying to whatever god he prays to that Mr. Netanyahu would lose the election in Israel. Unlike too many world leaders Netanyahu has not been drawn in to the Obama love fest. He is no one’s puppet or fool.

Mr. Netanyahu understands the Muslim mind, the same Muslim mind that Obama helped into power in Egypt. The same Muslim mind that wants Israel wiped off the map.

Obama does not accept that anyone might not agree with his plans, his policies, his decisions hence his attacks on Fox news and Rush. Netanyahu does not accept Obama’s plans for I Israel.
Obama had the nerve to say that Netanyahu did not know what was best for Israel because in Obama’s mind HE does know what is best.

God bless Israel and Mr. Netanyahu.

Deceit is saying one thing and believing another. It is exhausting continually sorting through the rhetoric but we see the strong support for regimes that are against women and train children to be racist killers.

So Obama ‘finally’ got around to congratulating Netanyahu a week after Israeli elections concluded?

This shows the uttermost contempt and loathing Obama feels towards Israel and her people; for with Morsi, radical leader and ideological brethren of Obama, the phone call was almost instantly put into motion.

Obama cares nothing for Israel, when will people finally see what is before their eyes and understand how insane and dangerous Obama truly is?
