Colin Powell Reveals Why He Voted for Obama Twice in Contentious Interview With Bill OReilly

Fox News Channel

In an exclusive and wide-ranging interview on Tuesday, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly asked former Secretary of State Colin Powell how he could vote for President Barack Obama twice as a Republican.

Powell said it simply came down to the economic plans put forth by the Republican campaigns, which he says were not “suited for the times we were in.”

O’Reilly argued that Obama’s economic plan didn’t work in his first term at all. He also said the situation for African Americans and other minority groups has only gotten worse under the president.

“So you basically said to yourself I’m still going to support the guy even though his economic policies haven’t worked for African Americans and pretty much anyone else,” O’Reilly said, referring to Powell’s decision to vote for Obama a second time.

“Why do you only see me as an African American, Bill? That troubles me,” Powell shot back. “I’m an American.”

O’Reilly said he was referring to his complaints about the GOP not doing enough to cater to African Americans and minorities.

Powell and the Fox host also touched on voter I.D. laws and immigration policy.

Watch part one of the interview via Fox News:

The second part of the interview focused on former Mitt Romney surrogate and former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu calling Obama “lazy.” O’Reilly jabbed at Powell for previously hinting that it was possibly a racial “code word.”

“He said he was lazy after the first debate and he said it a couple of times,” Powell said.

“So what?” O’Reilly interjected.

Powell also took exception with Sununu saying Obama needs to learn how to be an American.

“You have to understand the impact this has on minorities throughout our country. And if you want to appeal to these people… you have to avoid this kind of language that infuriates people.” he said.

Powell is brainwashed. It’s like he has a wireless obama talking points prompter in his head. The election was stolen. It is impossible for obama to win with the loss of 15% of his 2008 vote. No way no how. Most of that 15% turned AGAINST, making it a 30% swing. The machines were flipping percentage FROM/TO default obama. No 2 ways about it. The proof is in the numbers. No way did people vote all these Republicans State AND National, yet SPLIT TICKET for obama? No way.

That’s what I’ve been saying. I watched Scott Walker make it sound perfectly normal that the vote was split in his state(Wis.) on Susteren.
They truly are spineless, and fear the blacks chimping out. Well, what do they think’s going to happen when the Food Stamps run out naturally via currency debasement? Try explaining that one to 300 lb. Sh*tniqua, who’s lived in Section 8 her whole life, and never held down a job.

He’s pathetic but I’m not surprised. His reasons for voting for Obama twice are only due to the fact, that he is a big government guy, and because Obama’s black. I’m not going to sit there and say I have respect for him because of his military service… I don’t, he’s rubbish. Anyone who was in the military, who can vote for someone who has the ideology Obama has, or themselves share that same ideology- are a disgrace. The policies he’s supporting by voting for Obama twice, eat away at the freedom of the people.

Now as for O’Reilly talking about abortion and such… I don’t see abortion or any other social issues as a Republican or Democrat thing. Its just a matter of the constitution, does the government have the right to tell you what you can and cannot do with your body? Does the government have the right to tell you who you can and cannot marry? The obvious answer is NO! Unfortunately we have a lot of people, who claim to be all about the constitution, who keep harping on social issues.

I think abortion is sad, but if a woman needs to go that route, so be it.. Homosexuality isn’t promoted in the bible, though god and Jesus Christ knowing man’s imperfection, know very well that some people are born gay, which is part of man’s many oddities or rare medical conditions due to imperfection. If two dudes in love wish to have their union, so be it, and it should be respected.. Getting really tired of this social issues crap.

I used to really have a lot of respect for powell , but after this i think he should go give obama a big kiss on his rear end. Good riddens. Makes me sick. You know powell i heard the cool-aid was cherry. Crap was that racist! I have more respect for Herman Cain than this guy. You know Obama did inherit a big debt ,but took advantage of it and is going to screw this beautiful country. I agree with John Sonunu, I dont think obama is an American. Then why o why would you PLAN to spend our country until we have no credit rating. Im sick to my stomach over idiots like this who are so smart they are stupid, yes i called powell stupid. (Notice i dont capitalize his or obamas name not worthy any more) GGGGGGRRRRRRRRR!

As a Desert Storm Veteran I am embarrassed to say I once looked up to this racist communist and Powell proves my saying, “if you lock a Mensa child in a room with comic books for 20 years, you get an intelligent idiot! Such are all the potentially great Americans lost to liberalism and communist.

“You have to understand the impact this has on minorities throughout our country. And if you want to appeal to these people… you have to avoid this kind of language that infuriates people.” ……………………………………

Minorities, minorities, minorities……. why the hell is everyone so focused on minorities? How about we focus on the “AMERICAN PUBLIC” as a collective whole. Can’t you folks see these Repubs and Dems are driving a racial wedge here. That’s their intent…. when you favor, or make a big deal over one group of people over another you cause hard feeling and resentment. The next thing you know someone says racial and the racial death spiral is set into motion. America…. you’re being pitted one against the other for a specific reason and you can’t even come down to earth in your thinking enough to see that.

Uhh- Because that violates the first tenet of “Community” organizing? Until Alinsky is a punishable crime as it should be (treason) it will never end.
Nothing a Liberal says or does should be responded to without pointing out the ‘alinsky’ principle of it.
The American public will understand little until they understand THIS

It was good of O’Reilly to (rhetorically) ask Colin Powell if he voted twice/ fell for the “hope” thing.

    >Too bad he didn’t ask, If “lazy” & “shuckin and …” is coded racism, what does “hope” mean?

Powell will officially switch parties. It’s inevitable for a guy who sold out because he’ll be loved over there once he does,

Come on! You voted for a radical Marxist because he was the best choice? You’ve always been a Marxist? You didn’t notice the brother’s color?

Colin Powell is now saying John Sununu needs to learn how to be an American.? I submit that Powell needs to put his skin tone aside and the novelty of voting for a man based on skin color and be American and vote for the best candidate. If he thinks Obama has done a great job then say Obama stands for the socialist principles I believe in and let history judge you Mr. Powell. Personally, anyone who isnt driven by a blind agenda knows Obama is a failure at furthering the American experiment.

Colin Powell was more concerned about offending the muslims than giving Saddam the hard knocks he deserved. Now he is more concerned with race baiting politics than the good of the country. He is a two-timer and a racist.

So we had to go back & Hussein built up an army & 1000s died, why did you stop our military fasting moving army on record – no deaths from finishing their job???

My father – in between his 488 combat missions over Viet Nam in A4 and A7s (flown from carriers) and being Captain of the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy (CV-67) during the first gulf war – had a brief role at the Pentagon as Flag Sec reporting to Powell on the the Joint Chiefs of Staff – knew then that Powell was the earliest of RINOs, didn’t trust him, and was sure that most combat Veterans wouldn’t, either.

    This man is demented.

He says the Republican Party has shifted further to the right. This after supporting Reagan, Nixon, Weinberger??? Reagan’s conservatism is much further to the right than what these spineless GOP congressional leaders and the ruling class of the party.

This man is demented. The Democrats have moved so far to the left that John Kennedy would be considered ultra conservative. Go look up his policies!

It’s not that the GOP is moving to the right, it is the Democrats have moved SO FAR LEFT that it seems that way. This is the same mentality which caused early star gazers to believe the universe rotated around the earth! It is in your perspective. Colin Powell has lost his perspective!

Lost so much respect for him for the very reason we see right here. He is an angry, bitter little man now – what a shame – what a waste. I will never understand these Republicans who claim they are Republicans and then go out of their way to trash everything they do or say – why not just leave the party? Many of us are not happy about things going on right now in the party but they can be fixed but first and foremost there needs to be unity because divided we fall and we certainly did that on election day.

I have come to believe Powell has moved beyond his default “fence sitting waffler” core. He is fond of saying “as an old artilleryman, we’ve had the over and the under, now what’s the on target.” Meaning he is a “finger to the wind” co-op, CYA, artist. No Character, No Core Principles. His actions during the First Gulf War show this clearly. No balls.
With ONE exception. He also tells the story of going through one of the Southern States on his way to a new duty station wearing a dashiki, that Faux African Crap of the 70′s “Black Power” sheite.
Powell has ALWAYS been a BLACK RACIST, just a STEALTH one.
But then you are going to see more and more GangstaHomie wannabes admitting to their Love of the Van Jones Doctrine, aka “Eff Whitey” as The Sloppy Seconds Helping Tour of BlackBo’s Butterap rolls on. NOW they’re gonna tell us what they have REALLY ALWAYS thought of us for no other reason other than our low melanin count.

Powell calls himself a moderate republican. Romney is a moderate republican progressive, as is McCain. If Powell was really a moderate republican he would have voted for McCain and Romney. Instead, he voted for an uber liberal marxist. Powell clearly supported Obama because of race.
