Skeeter? A CNN Journalist Did a Segment Insinuating Obama’s Lying About His Shooting

If there are truthers and birthers, should there now be a new term for those who are doubting President Obama’s claim that he goes skeet shooting “all the time”? And should that term be “skeeters”? If so, count CNN’s rising young star Erin Burnett among the gadflies.

During a segment on Monday night, Burnett took over two minutes to dissect the president’s shooting claim — and she found it wanting.

β€œObama the skeet shooter,” she began. “Yeah, I’m not making this up. I mean, if someone is, it isn’t me.”

She then played the clip of CNN’s Jessica Yellin confronting Press Secretary Jay Carney on the comments, repeatedly asking if a picture of the activity existed and why no one had ever heard of him doing it before.

Burnett then turned to a panel where she said there’s “skepticism” among conservatives and non-conservatives about the president’s claim.

“So, now you’re going to say you do it all the time, don’t you have to kind of prove it?” she asked.

Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher wasn’t impressed: “Such speculation is to be expected from a deranged partisan, but not from a journalist. She owes him an apology.”

    Why in the hell would CNN have Roland Martin on as their guest to give the “liberal point of view??” Don’t answer that. CNN might as well let Huey P. Newton out of prison and let him be racist for him.

      I would have to say the statement is quite racist, wouldn’t you ? Is CNN insinuating that African Americans don’t hunt ? I mean, if Fox had made some kind of insinuation, I am sure race cards would be flying everywhere…..

      My question is why does anyone think she should apologize for her comments? She didn’t call him a liar, though he probably is, she just insinuated, gave an opinion. They do have a nice range there though, but I doubt if he knows the difference between skeet and trap shooting, except that his trap is always shooting. Easy fix, invite him on the show sometime along with a pro shooter, preferably someone just coming off a tour to give credibility to his being there. Broach the subject, then sit back and and watch the feathers fly.

      WOW! If the photo showed he was skeet shooting, it sure looked like a water gun to me. I though I’d been skeet shooting with the chief of police in my town, but I guess we were shooting make believe water bullets. Hey, the guy can’t even throw a ball without it looking girly.

    I’m sure by the end of the week there will be at least a dozen photo’s of Obama shooting a poor old cly pigen. What you won’t see is the snipper in the back ground hitting the targets. This guy is a joke and makes a mockery of the Presidency.

      O is a shooter…I didn’t realize the new term or meaning of basketball is “skeet”.

      I thought O didn’t go to Camp David much, since he seems to prefer the more exotic Presidential trips to Indonesia, Hawaii, Martha’s Vinyard, Hollywood, etc… He loves Airforce One and barely seems to use the old Helicpoter to the local Camp David…so, how many times has he gone there compared to oh, let me see, the golf course? or his home in Chicago?

      There already is a picture on the WH website. Found it while trying to search how many times Obama’s been to Camp David (which isn’t much compared to previous presidents). It’s a picture of him holding a shotgun, which I’m sure the left will say is photographic proof that Obama goes skeet shooting “all the time”.

      I guess Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher does not really know what a real jounalist does, which is to get to the truth by asking questions and by being suspicious of comments such as the skeet shooting one which he does “all the time.” Of course there so FEW examples of real journalists today out there that I am hardly surprised. I think Webster’s dictionary will soon change the definition of journalist to: Avid follower and defender of Barack Hussein Obama.

      I smelled a rat when the Empty Chair said he “does skeet” all the time. I’ve been around guns and shooters for a long time, but can’t say I ever recall anyone who shoots skeet ever saying it that way. “I shoot skeet” is most likely the way a person who’s actually done it would describe his activity…

    Look, the guy is a pathological liar and even CNN can’t contain themselves and have to point it out. It is so over the top and obvious and wearing thin in some places you would not expect. Jay Carney looks like he is having a tougher time lately messaging Obama’s nonsense to the masses. My guess is he will soon leave as his conscience will get the better of him.

    Obama spent four years proving he is a citizen? When I moved to a new state I had to provide a birth certificate to get a drivers license. I contacted the state I was born in, provided the info they required and amazingly enough I had proof of birth in the US within a week. I didn’t know I have more power than the president.
