Skeeter? A CNN Journalist Did a Segment Insinuating Obama’s Lying About His Shooting

If there are truthers and birthers, should there now be a new term for those who are doubting President Obama’s claim that he goes skeet shooting “all the time”? And should that term be “skeeters”? If so, count CNN’s rising young star Erin Burnett among the gadflies.

During a segment on Monday night, Burnett took over two minutes to dissect the president’s shooting claim — and she found it wanting.

β€œObama the skeet shooter,” she began. “Yeah, I’m not making this up. I mean, if someone is, it isn’t me.”

She then played the clip of CNN’s Jessica Yellin confronting Press Secretary Jay Carney on the comments, repeatedly asking if a picture of the activity existed and why no one had ever heard of him doing it before.

Burnett then turned to a panel where she said there’s “skepticism” among conservatives and non-conservatives about the president’s claim.

“So, now you’re going to say you do it all the time, don’t you have to kind of prove it?” she asked.

Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher wasn’t impressed: “Such speculation is to be expected from a deranged partisan, but not from a journalist. She owes him an apology.”

    Obama is a puppet for unelected officials who staged a coup and are using the office of presidency to play catch the communists at all expense to us, our economy, our quality of life, and our Constitution.

    Just another bubble-headed corporatist shill. What an empty hair-do Burnett is. No, she’s not interested in the tens of thousands of dead citizens needlessly killed because she and her gun-loving, death-worshipping friends can play with dangerous toys, no. Her big scoop, her giant intellect, is turned to the burning issue of whether or not the President shoots skeet. Any wonder CNN’s ratings are as low as they are?

      Not that you probably care about the point of the article, but to explain it to others who might be curious. The issue is that the President (as usual) lied. The reason this is a story is because Chicken Noodle News actually has someone calling him out on this particular lie.

    So a Mediaite puke questions if the CNN reporter is a genuine “journalist” because she expressed skepticism about his claim? So a journalist is not allowed to qurestion a claim made by the administration? No wonder none of them asked about Libya, they buy anything the administration sells.

    What is the point of lying about skeet shooting–which no one ever heard of as far as this LIAR is concerned? Are his “handlers” trying to give him the illusion of supporting gun rights?

    He can’t open his mouth without lying–even when it doesn’t matter. Just a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR! No citizen can trust anything he says.

    It’s known that Obama doesn’t much care for Camp David (http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2012/05/27/nyt-white-house-correspondent-obama-hates-camp-david-because-theres-n). That’s why I find Obama’s comments about going “skeet shooting all the time” suspicious. All the time of a very small amount of visits does not make one an avid skeet shooter nor prove that Obama could care less about preserving gun rights.

    The election is over. The Dear Leader is in office for at least 4 more years. The media is going to make minor acts of journalism to maintain a minimum level of credibility and of plausable deniability with reagard to media bias.

    First of all, I am not an Obama supporter, no way, no how. But, in fairness, we must not act like the Liberals. Obama never said HE fired a shotgun or went skeet shooting. His words: “Yes, in fact, up at Camp David we do skeet shooting all the time”. “WE” not I do it all the time. Question: “The whole family? Obama:” “Not the girls, but often I have guests of mine go up there.” Again, not ME. He never said HE shoots skeet. Let’s be fair about this. If he said “I do it all the time” that would be a different story, but he never said that. Remember he’s a lawyer, he knows how to answer question ambiguously.

    I have always felt just a little sorry for Barack Obama, being so unaccomplished, and all. But now, with this skeet shooting thing, I feel a LOT sorry for him. I will lay you odds that the man didn’t have any more than a 2.6 grade point average in college. He is a small man who has mastered the art of bluster.

      Didn’t Barry implicate Michelle in his skeet statement? By saying we and then specifically saying not his daughters, I think he also said the Michelle shoots skeet with him.

      Isn’t his statement rather ackward for shooter anyway? Wouldn’t you normally say, “we shoot skeet” rather than “we skeet shoot”? It sounds like he got his Supersoaker confused with some one’s shotgun.
