We feel sorry for any potential bully who attempts to steal this little girl’s lunch money — because it’s a mistake that would likely require stitches.
The Yahoo! Sports blog “The Post Game” stumbled onto a video of a young girl, reportedly from Kazakhstan, intensely training and honing her boxing skills. The video was posted on Jan. 20, and just nine days later it has nearly 190,000 views.
As The Post Game notes, she is “incredible focused and disciplined beyond her years.”
Watch the video below — there is one particularly impressive barrage of punches at around 0:54 (Warning! Music in video contains explicit language):

Jan. 30, 2013 at 10:06amOkay, that young lady is impressive. I applaud her father in so much as he supports her as long as she “wants” to do this. My ten year old has a black belt in TKD but when she wanted out, I said okay…. so now she’s done and didn’t get pushed too far; Yes, I’m hopeful that she’ll want to try other forms again some day but its important to give the kids enough voice to say “I don’t want to do this anymore.” That said This young lady has a promising athletic career ahead of her should she choose to follow it!

Jan. 30, 2013 at 10:51amI salute you…
I think it is a good idea to give ALL children basic martial arts training (in order to prevent the “victim” mentality that is taught in most schools) and once they put in a few years, give the a choice of whether to continue or not…
If they don’t like it, then at least they learned some valuable skills, discipline, and had some physical exercise.. If they like it, then they can pursue further…
You were smart, and I hope you urge others to take your approach…. (but next time, learn something more useful… TKD is not the most useful skill in a “practical application”…. Karate, Judo, or Kung-fu [wushu for women] would serve her better in a real situation….)

Jan. 30, 2013 at 10:06amWe will probably be seeing more of her. I trained in and taught karate for several decades and always wondered why more girls and women did not seek martial arts training. This little girl’s father has the right idea. His daughter obviously has some natural skills that he is rightly helping her develop. Her spirit is wonderful.

My little girl was taught BJJ and became very very good. She could take care of herself under a bad situation even with an adult male.
BTW that same little girl is all grown up and is now getting ready to swear in as a MARINE this week. I am SOOOOO proud of her!

Jan. 30, 2013 at 12:02pmOLDSURFRAT, Great Big Bearhug congrats and an equally profound salute to the young lady going into the Marines! There are too many MINOs (men in name only) today that don’t want to dirty their nails or put a run in their hose.
Teaching this spunky, little girl to box was a good thing for her daddy to do for her. This is yet one more little girl that will grow up self sufficient and make the people in her life VERY proud.

Jan. 30, 2013 at 7:24amYou’re kind of right Garbage…Like Mike Tyson said “Everybody has a plan until they get hit in the face”…but this little girl has developed some talent that would be very useful in the ring or on the street….hitting and not getting hit. If you’ve never done it, go find a gym, get gloved up and climb in the ring with somebody that’s developed a little of those same skills…you’ll see what I mean real fast.

Jan. 30, 2013 at 5:24amI am not positive, but I think the instruction is Serik Sapiyev, a gold medal winning 28 year old Welterweight from Kazhakstan.
If that is the case, then the little girl is most likely his daughter Akku.
The internet is a great place to do research…

Jan. 29, 2013 at 11:15pmand women in the military CAN be taught TKD, Krav Maga or other lethal hand to hand techniques that compensate for smaller size and lesser strength…
but that’s only part of the issue… how will men react to women injured and trapped in the open?
what of the jealousy issues when the inevitable post combat high leads to sexual activity…
what of the women captured and held as prisoners of war… ask McCain what he thinks would have happened to him had he been a woman
i truly believe women can bring unique and beneficial contributions to the battle field…
i am skeptical about the politicians making the rules and pretending there will be no repurcussions.
and i’m still waiting to hear that registration is now universal… all citizens at 18 must register, right?
