Fox News Source: Obama ‘Couldn’t Have Been More Uncomfortable’ Skeet Shooting at Camp David

Source Says President Obama Rarely Goes Skeet Shooting at Camp David

President Barack Obama’s claim that he and his guests at Camp David “do skeet shooting all the time” has been met with a great deal of skepticism. Well, now an anonymous source who claims to have been to the retreat a half-dozen times with the president says Obama rarely ever goes skeet shooting and when he did, he was “awkward” and “uncomfortable” for the commander-in-chief.

“The only time he shot skeet was for President’s Cup,” the source, who asked not to be identified, told FoxNews.com. “I was there. He stayed for about five minutes, and couldn’t leave fast enough.” The President’s Cup is a shooting competition tradition involving the presidential Marine guards.

The source said Obama has only gone skeet shooting a couple of times at the most. It’s “very hard…especially for someone not used to guns,” the source added. “He couldn’t have been more uncomfortable.”

A friend of the source also remembered Obama skeet shooting at Camp David very early in his first term, FoxNews.com reports.

In an interview with a former staffer at The New Republic, Obama was asked if he had ever fired a gun. This is how he responded:

“Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time…Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.”

Since making the remarks, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott and congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) have both challenged Obama to a skeet shooting contest. Additionally, Abbott invited Obama to go hunting down in Texas as the president claims he is now a sportsman.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was unable to back up Obama’s claim with any kind of proof.

“I’m not sure how often he’s done that…because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs,” Carney said.

“There may be (a photo),” he added, “but I haven’t seen it.

The New Republic was actually duped by this fake photo of Obama skeet shooting, which it initially promoted as genuine. Within minutes, the site took it down and realized the mistake.

  I think it is quite obvious O never had a real manly, fatherly influence in his life to teach him how to do “normal american kid things” like throw a ball, shoot a gun, toss a football, ride a bike, tell the truth, have honor, integrity etc.
  
  Thankfully I have a Dad – married to my mother (still) who taught me to play baseball, football, hunt, shoot and many other things – that I can definitely do better than O -

The man is certainly slick with his words. He alludes to his participation by using the word “we” in the first sentance; but that could mean he rides in the golf cart over to the range with his guests. But apart from that, the rest of his statement does not even hint that he engages in skeet shooting “all the time”. He may have given skeet shooting a try; but probably got knocked on his **** from the recoil; and thus, avoids it like the plague.

But, he is obviously hedging his bet, so to speak. If he does that with the “small stuff”….is it that far fetched that he would do that with the “Big Stuff”….like Benghazi, Fast & Furious, ObamaCare, need I go on?

  His use of “we” is extremely telling as he almost invariably uses “I”, “my”, “mine”, or “me”.
  I’m curious about why he said “Not the girls”. I consider that to be quite sexist to be honest. Not so much in an overt way, but in a way that hints toward ones core beliefs… Probably the closest he has come to honesty in decades.

  Why not the girls? I thought women could do anything a man can do? My daughter is 11 and she can shoot rifles, shotguns and pistols quite well. He obvoiusly feels his girls are not smart enough or capable enough to handle a fire are safely. Too bad he is such a narrow minded male chauvist. I train women to shoot twice a year at my gun club via the NRA Women on Target program. Women are quite capable of shooting all types of firearms well and do excel at skeet shooting.

  exactly Apex, As a young girl I recall my father taking me hunting with him from the time I was 5 years old. When I turned 10, I received my FIRST shotgun to take on said hunting trips. I’ve kept my appreciation, and respect, for various calibers and types of weapons that I have collected through the years. Yes, it was an inappropriate sexist remark made by Mr. Executive Order & current occupier of the WH-but I have very low expectations of what may be puked out of his mouth-that way I’m never disappointed!!!!! Since big brother/big sis moniter posts-I will leave it at that on all accounts. =)

Firearms are a masculine pursuit, and men raised around firearms are not uncomfortable with them, even if they’re handling a new model of firearm. Ladies have picked up firearms as well, and done quite well with them. That the President is “uncomfortable” says a lot about him, given his lie of going skeet shooting all the time. The man is the biggest pansie I think that has ever held the office of POTUS.
