Lou Barletta Discusses Illegal Immigration and Small Cities on ‘Wilkow!’

Eight Senators kicked off the week of news in Washington Monday with the announcement of a bipartisan framework for Immigration reform that would address border security, guest worker and employer verification, and include a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million illegal immigrants already in this country. At the center of the debate surrounding Immigration reform for many conservatives comes respect for the rule of law; how can we strengthen border security and address illegal immigrants already living in the country. For many communities across the country an influx of illegal immigration can bring not only economic disruption, but also social unease and crime.

A 2012 report from the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee and nonpartisan Congressional Research Service found that roughly one in six illegal immigrants is re-arrested on criminal charges within three years of release. In 2011, 188, 382 criminal illegal immigrants were deported.

Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Lou Barletta came to national prominence before coming to Washington D.C. when he was Mayor of Hazelton during an influx of legal immigration that pushed the city’s small budget to its limit, and saw several instances of violent crime involving illegal immigrants. Rep. Barletta joined “Wilkow!” Wednesday to discuss his experiences and how illegal immigration can effect small cities:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

In Mexifornia there is ethnic cleansing against native blacks by Hispanics, tune in, turn on and keep your head down if you are black in Mexifornia.

When is the government going to give us real numbers for the illegal presence in this country. 11 million…really? It’s been 11 million for over 10years. The real number has got to be closer to 50 million. How many people enter the country on visitor visas and never return home? This happens daily. We have no way of following up on these people. The immigration system is not broken, just not enforced as it should be. I’m fine with immigrants, but we also need to realize that we are going to reach maximum capacity for the available resources in this country.

I continuing my post from a few moments ago. I believe the damage is done and it cannot be reversed. Half the town is for sale and there are many people trying to sell but they can’t get anywhere near normal value because of how blighted the town has become. I just talked to a man that lives in the center of Hazleton and he said he has no debt left on his home and it is in great shape. He put it up for sale and was recently offered a measely $7000 for his one half double block home. During the boom he would have gotten $75K. Finally, here’s some statistics that should scare everyone. Hazleton has a population of less than 25K and with the school district boundaries that include the smaller sourounding towns it ballons to about 60K people. But, Hazleton schools have the 5th highest enrollment in the state out of 505 school districts! There is about 11K kids in that district. Unbelievable! What’s happened to that town is completly absurd. More crime goes unreported than you can imagine…just talk to the people that live in Hazleton. One more thing of note. The teachers union runs that town. They brought these immigrants in to raise their wages and that is exactly what happened. A small town of 25K people where the teachers are making 50K to start just in wage alone and the principals are all at 80 to 90K to start. Don’t for a second think that this isn’t what they wanted. The only problem is that they are hurting the elderly and poor the most. It’s just a shame what the

I grew up in Pontiac, MI, my parents bought our home in 1954 for $7000, their neighbors were Doctors,Lawyers, Teachers, Nurses, and retirees. During the period of 1954 to 1990(when they died) all the professional people moved and were replaced by Mexicans and blacks from the South. I sold their house in 1990 for less than $7000, even though it was in real good shape. This is the future of this country! Read about Rome and other failed empires and you will see it happening in the USA, also look what’ s going on in Sweden with their guests!

I used to live in Hazleton but left in the mid 2000s for obvious reasons. I know MANY people in Hazleton and I know the area very well. There are some things being left out that anyone reading this article should know first. First, In the mid 90s the politicians and school unions, yes school unions, started advertising for people to come live in Hazleton. The advertisement was placed in the inner city areas in New York City. Hazleton is only about 2 hours from NYC via Interstate 80. The Mayors name at the time was John Quigley and I Believe he is now some sort of politician for the State of Pennsylvania. So if you want to blame anyone blame him and the school unions who specifically asked these minorities to come to Hazleton via billboards. As far as I know the billboard was still up in 2005. They got what they wanted! Second, the schools in Hazleton are being bombarded with children who come from NYC to go to school during the week and then go back NYC to their homes for the weekend. I know this first hand and I’ve seen it first hand. Here’s what they do. They literally drive up to the school in white vans filled with as many kids as possible and drop them off and there is nothing that anyone can do about it. Parents and school district workers have told me they’ve seen dozens of vans drive up in the morning in front of the schools and just start dropping off kids, most of whom don’t speak a lick of english. I’ll finish in another post I only have a few characters left.

I also worked with many classroom aides in that district. They told me it was common for the head of the household to be the oldest sibling, still in high school. That the parents get them here and then leave. These older siblings take responsibility for the smaller kids all week long. They come home from school, cook, pick kids up from the busstop, grocery shop, etc.

I live in the city Barletta was mayor of. Back in the 40’s 50’s 60’s 70’s 80’s to the mid 80’s Hazleton was a nice quiet city of about 23 to 25 thousand people. Very low crime rate, very low murder rate, heck if we had one murder a year we were lucky. But then something started to happen an influx of Mexicans, Puerto Ricans , and every other kind of low life from the bigger cities started to move into Hazleton, and now crime has sky rocketed from murders to muggings 95% done by these people from south of the border…… once these people move into your town they are like cockroaches and the city will start to go down hill.

I live near Hazleton. I grew up there. I have good friends who are Hispanic. They are church-going, law-abiding, tax-paying citizens who take care of their property, or the property that they rent. They work hard. Their kids do well in school, play on sports teams, and the families have a stake in the community.

The majority of the more recent Hispanic immigrants have come from the Dominican Republic, which is so poor.

But the Hispanic element that is illegal AND criminal is much larger than those I cited above!! The town has gone broke supporting an illegal population that has no intention of ever becoming part of the tax base — REGARDESS of what laws are passed — or not.

Their older kids spend all of high school using resources, like expensive ESL programs, with no intention of ever learning English or trying to progress in studies.

Hazleton is host to some of the most vicious Hispanic gangs in the world.

Working class people struggle on a budget. They get to the grocery store and stand in line behind Hispanic families with several EBT cards buying hundreds of dollars worth of expensive items.

They watch as properties all over town become run-down because those who reside there have no stake in the community.

They go to the pediatrician and the OB-GYN and see many unmarried, pregnant Spanish-speaking girls whip out that “Access” card!

It is not racism. It is economic suicide.

I believe that everyone should follow the laws written, and by letting illegals cross our borders it is breaking the law. Why should non citizens have more rights than us? We have to follow our laws or else we will be jailed, but yet some want to give these law breakers a free ride? I for one am tired of having my taxes pay for their medical, food, schooling, and other luxeries. Many of us are struggling to pay for our own. Our citizens who feel compelled to help the illegals should move to Mexico and take their money with them and help the citizens of Mexico.

I do not think it is good to do this again to a group of people that do not have respect for our borders. I do not want anything that any other country does not have people only coming in the front door and not sneaking in the back…
It is not racist to want my country to be safe. I believe the thousands on immigrants on waiting lists and have already started or finished the paperwork should be given first entry to this country. The people already here need to turn themselves in and will begin the paperwork and get to get on the list in order that they have turned themselves in. They need to be sent back home and wait their turn. The purpose of immigration is to melt more then one group into the country. We cannot let 11 million of any one race into this country because then we are no longer a melting pot but just another mexico.
That would be racist not to allow people from all over the world to come here people that have followed the rules, not broke the law by jumping the border. It proves the have no respect for this countries laws and we do not need that here. This amount of Mexicans will turn all communities into little LA’s and ghetto’s across the country. Gang violence is plentiful without legalizing this type of behavior and allowing this group to remain will do just that. The Mexican population is been moving in for the last 5 years with that we have robberies, house brake ins, shootings and car thief’s things we have never had before their moving in the tow

Illegal aliens cost the Fed and state governments $ 330 billion annually. DHS states there are 240,000 known sex offenders among them. They murder 4000+ Americans annually.
Sooner or later you will realize being a little “racist” would be a good thing. Investigate why Israel will not grant Palestinians the “right of return.”

Any Republicans who think they’re allowing cheap, under-the-table labor for big business by winking at illegal aliens should realize that, once these illegals are legitimized, they’ll no longer have to be content with less than minimum wage. They’ll be demanding at least min. wage, bennies and all the other stuff that citizens get. So, then they’ll hafta allow another 20 million to come in to make up the difference…and so it goes, until this becomes a de facto Northern Mexico.
