Masked Gunman Flees Home Invasion After Women Begin Chanting Jesus’ Name: ‘Get Out of My House in the Name of Jesus!’

Derick Lee, a 24-year-old alleged home invader, was in for a surprise when he purportedly crashed a Premiere Jewelry party that Jacquie Hagler was hosting in her Lake City, Fla., residence on Friday. Rather than scaring the 14 to 18 women he encountered into giving him their money and personal items, it was Lee who ended up fleeing the scene after attendees began chanting “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!”

Upon entering the room, the young man, wearing dark clothing, a bandana and a ski mask, allegedly pointed a handgun at the women and demanded that they give him cash as well as their phones. Despite this horrifying display, one attendee assumed that the spectacle was a joke; she pushed the gun away and said, “It’s only a water pistol.”

However, when Lee showed the women that the gun had very real bullets, they began to take him seriously, realizing the seriousness of the situation before them. But rather than cowering in the face of fear, Hagler stood up and courageously commanded that Lee leave her home.

“The boldness of the Lord came up in me,” she said. “I stood up and I just pointed to the door that he’d came in from. I said, ‘Get out of my house in the name of Jesus.’”

WTXL-TV has more about the situation:

Despite her plea, Lee allegedly threatened the women again, but they weren’t planning on backing down. The attendees began shouting Jesus’ name and, oddly, Lee purportedly responded by looking around the room in terror — and then he fled.

Hagler is convinced that invoking the Lord’s name provided heavenly assistance that ended up keeping the women safe.

“I promise you, I believe he saw angels. I think he saw who was on our side, and he just turned around,” she explained. “The look on his face was just, like, astonishment. He was totally captivated by whatever he saw. He just turned around and ran out the door.”

Donna Bowen, an attendee who was at the party with her 14-year-old daughter, confirmed these events and noted that God’s involvement helped save the women.

“You knew that God’s hand…He was in there,” explained Bowen. “It could have went so differently.”

Lee was also accused of trying to rob a 62-year-old women at a Bank of America ATM later that same evening. He allegedly ran off during this incident as well when the woman started to scream. Both those at Hagler’s party and the women at the bank identified Lee and the suspect was traced back to his father’s home; he has been booked at the Colombia County Detention Center, where he is being held on $200,000 bond.

As for Hagler, she is hoping that Lee will become a Christian and turn his life around.

A little joke I think about occasionally: Police came to arrest a man being held at bay by a little old Christian Woman who came home from church and found him in her house.
The police asked what happened and he replied that the lady said she had an AX and two 38′s, when actually she told him to stop in the name of Jesus, Acts 2:38.

I would just go all Samual l. Jackson on them and say this as I pull out my CCW, “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

Then call 911 for a cleanup on aisle 3.

The man was dumbfounded that these women weren’t cooperating. He wasn’t about to shoot any of them. The gun was for intimidation, but he wasn’t going to harm them. Their “chant” drove him away, not because he “saw angels” or “because he feared god”, but because he knew he wouldn’t get anywhere with these ladies.

Evidence that he wasn’t “influenced by angels” is that he tried to rob another person . . . running away when she screemed. He is an opportunist who looks for easy targets. That’s all there is to it.

Nerve? No. Just probability. If people want to believe “he saw angels”, that’s their issue. But when we consider human behavior, what I stated is the most likely reason for his actions. There’s nothing mysterious about a story like this.

We have been told in Luke 10:18&19 that through our LORD Jesus Christ we have been given power over ALL our enemies. We have to have the backbone and faith to order evil out of our homes and our lives. Evil is the world that rejects our heavenly Father.

A burglar breaks into a house in the middle of the night and starts looking around in the dark. Suddenly a voice says “Jesus is watching you.” Looking around he spots a parrot. “Did you say that?” he asks. “Yes”replied the parrot. “What is your name?” asked the burglar. “Moses” replied the parrot. The burglar laughed and said “What kind of an idiot names his parrot ‘Moses’?” The parrot replied “The same kind that names his rottweiler ‘Jesus’”

Maybe this guy saw her parrot….

We must pray for this lost bandit, he is lost, I too was lost. Hey Paul, before he was found, he too was lost. Acts records paul as saying “I too was convinced that I ought to do all that was possible to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth”.
After Paul (Sual) had seen the light, he then lifted high that name above all names. Paul, in his letter to the Collosians wrote, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
And the disciples cast out demons “In the name of the Lord Jesus”
    Remember that name folks.

Not the first time this has happened.

Nothing worse for a southern boy gone bad than to walk in on a house full of southern ladies having Bible study and try to rob them. Better off trying to rob the Bloods or the Crips. LOL

He heard the voice of God and still did not listen so he got caught later that day trying the same game.

I had a similar but by no means as terrifying thing happen many years ago. I started getting obscene phones calls from some pervert. I kept hanging up on him, he kept calling back. During his last call I started praying for him, quite loudly, asking God to please help his sick soul. That time he hung up on me and he never called back.

      Mom,
Of our seven children, one was troubled, prehaps I felt at the time, tormented by a spirit not welcome in our home. The son was in early twenties. Sitting on our couch, I laid hands and rebuked that spirit, as I called on the Name of Jesus. That son is now helping lead middle school aged boys Sunday School Class at our church. He has made strives in the Right direction.
It is because of that Name, JESUS, that the rotten spirit of diablo had to leave. We did not just sweep the house, we cleansed it. White washed it with the Name of Christ.
      True story
      Thanks be to God

There are a lot of good spiritual people there….we could use a lot more in this country! That is the answer to all of these shootings…..we need to value life and morals. In the name of being tolerant, morality has gone out the window. Having high standards used to be a good thing! God bless those ladies for standing up for what is right!

Don’t discount the possibility that the Fear of God literally came over this man. The Bible says that when 2 or more are gathered in my name I am there also.

Rather than give the thief money, or try to talk him down, the women called on the Lord. He might not have seen anything, but I’ll bet he felt it, God’s presence.

“For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
