What Obama ‘Joke’ Was Greeted With Overwhelming Boos at a Local Chamber of Commerce Dinner?

Joke About Obama Making Like Lincoln at a Play by Jakosa at Turlock Chamber of Commerce Greeted With Boos

Local businessman Marty Jakosa was acting as the master of ceremonies during the 45th annual dinner for the Turlock Chamber of Commerce when he made an anti-Obama “joke” that was greeted with overwhelming boos by the audience, despite the chamber’s frosty relationship with the president.

CBS13 has the story:

The joke began with Jakosa talking about President Obama following in the steps of past presidents such as Washington and Jefferson.

It went sour though when Jakosa got to Lincoln.

“Is that it? How about you be like Abe Lincoln and go to a play?” Jakosa said as the crowd gasped. “…That’s a cute joke.”

Jakosa may have thought it was cute, but some say a joke about killing the president just isn’t funny.

“He’s our president,” David Boulos said. “We respect that and we honor that.”

Chamber president Sharon Silva was reportedly on stage with other prominent members of the community– including the mayor– when the joke was told.

“I know for a fact he wouldn’t do or say anything intentionally to hurt or offend anybody. It was a joke, but it wasn’t the right kind of a joke,” Silva told FOX40, adding that she’ll be looking for a new master of ceremonies next year.

Turlock wrote a profuse apology after the event, saying he was “truly, truly sorry” and “exercised extremely poor judgement.”

“I would never purposely disrespect the office of the President of the United States,” he added.

  I found it to be in poor taste and yet quite funny. If these people cant stand a joke about our vaunted president and tell me to respect the office of the president. I have lost all respect for the office of and this man himself because of his actions, and funny how no one ever stood up for the office when Bush was constantly being destroyed by respected members of the media as well as every liberal moron on the street. My father taught me at a young age that respect is earned and once lost is hard to be regained. This commie turd of a president has a long way to ever earning my respect and till then I will excercise my first ammendment rights and drag his name through the dirt it deserves.

Obama kept ” selling ” himself as a Lincoln before his first term, remember ? { Of course that did NOT go anywhere since Lincoln was the first Republican President }. Johnny Carson, the King of Late Night television, would do a Lincoln Joke every few years – it would flop – and Johnny would just say ” yeah, even now . . even now you can’t do Lincoln “. Today the late night show hosts began doing Obama jokes just before the Election was stolen, but backed off after the theft. See, that’s a joke with more than a grain of truth. ” Besides that, how did you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln ? “

It is a Laughing matter. We would finally be able to talk about where he is really from. I think that it’s been noted that this Obama has had more threats on his life than any other President. Gee, I wonder why. Not wanting to see anyone hurt but the left had no mercy when it came to a real President like President Bush, and YES we do miss him Dearly. He never would have queered our Military, and he would have defended the mirage act. He would not have let the folks who died in Iraq die in vain. It won’t Be long before it is in a total mess again,and the same will happen in the other place.The Black Panthers would have been put in jail where they belong. President Bush would not have sent our tax dollars to other countries for abortions. The Arab Spring would have had a much different out come. Over all, President would have gotten us out of the financial mess we are in in spite of what he did with his spending. This Odumbo is a Fraud and nothing else.
