Joke About Obama Making Like Lincoln at a Play by Jakosa at Turlock Chamber of Commerce Greeted With Boos

Local businessman Marty Jakosa was acting as the master of ceremonies during the 45th annual dinner for the Turlock Chamber of Commerce when he made an anti-Obama “joke” that was greeted with overwhelming boos by the audience, despite the chamber’s frosty relationship with the president.

CBS13 has the story:

The joke began with Jakosa talking about President Obama following in the steps of past presidents such as Washington and Jefferson.

It went sour though when Jakosa got to Lincoln.

“Is that it? How about you be like Abe Lincoln and go to a play?” Jakosa said as the crowd gasped. “…That’s a cute joke.”

Jakosa may have thought it was cute, but some say a joke about killing the president just isn’t funny.

“He’s our president,” David Boulos said. “We respect that and we honor that.”

Chamber president Sharon Silva was reportedly on stage with other prominent members of the community– including the mayor– when the joke was told.

“I know for a fact he wouldn’t do or say anything intentionally to hurt or offend anybody. It was a joke, but it wasn’t the right kind of a joke,” Silva told FOX40, adding that she’ll be looking for a new master of ceremonies next year.

Turlock wrote a profuse apology after the event, saying he was “truly, truly sorry” and “exercised extremely poor judgement.”

“I would never purposely disrespect the office of the President of the United States,” he added.

It is a lib thing. They are setting the stage to mockup a fake assassination attempt on obama. This is to gin it up ahead of time as a racial thing and a business anti-obama thing.
You can see it coming. Do not be surprised to see obama reports that obama expired, only to resurrect miraculously in a shameful representation of the second coming of the Lord. This one the dark lord.. It is something you would expect of Satan, Therefore- Expect it.. You’ll see.

I am a polar opposite to everything Obama says or stands for, but even I respect the office of the president enough to find this joke beyond bad taste and poor judgement. I bet the jokester gets a visit from the Secret Service!

I have no respect for liars and bigots. Therefore, the notion that you have to respect a fraud who lied his way to the top is stupid.
If he was respectful of the office he holds then he would be respected. But he has made the office a joke with his antics.. he has demeaned the office, our military, our constitution, and anyone who disagrees with his commie principles.
Therefore he doe not deserve any respect. EOS

It’s a joke and people need to lighten up,I recall there was a movie depicting the assassination of president Bush and I didn’t here a peep from anyone. People got it wrong about respecting the president,you respect the office not the man unless he earns it and in Barrys case the only thing he’s earned from me is disgust because I know what he’s doing and it isn’t good for America. I could list all the reasons but for those of you who frequent this site you’ve probably read what I’ve written before and I stand by my utter contempt for that man. If you don’t like my opinion or I ‘offended’ you then fine I hope I did offend you, I find candy@sses offensive.
