Conservatives Launch New Social Network to Escape Facebook ‘Censorship’ — Will You Join?

Fed up with the threat of “censorship” on Facebook, a group of a conservatives are launching their own social network called “The Tea Party Community.” The site, which doesn’t even officially go online until Saturday, has already attracted nearly 50,000 members.

The site’s co-founder, Tea Party activist Ken Crow, told Fox News that The Tea Party Community will be the “new home for conservatives and the Tea Party movement in America.”

“Most of us are subjected to censorship on Facebook…I’ve been suspended there as have many of my friends. You also absorb a lot of abuse from liberals,” Crow said.

Crow reportedly teamed up with Tim Selaty Sr. and Tim Selaty Jr. to put the social networking site together in November, which dubs itself as a “safe haven for the conservative movement where we can share ideas and thoughts and express ourselves without fear of retribution.”

Crow said he, along with many other conservatives, feel as if Facebook intentionally targets conservatives through its policies.

“Most of us are subjected to censorship on Facebook,” Crow explained. “I’ve been suspended there as have many of my friends. You also absorb a lot of abuse from liberals.”

“As many as 100 Facebook users contacted Fox News with complaints that the social networking site had either removed conservative content or blocked them for posting conservative content,” Fox News reports.

Fox News has some additional details about The Tea Party Community:

It’s no surprise The Tea Party Community has a very similar look and feel to Facebook.

“That was intentional,” Crow said. “We didn’t want there to be a learning curve for the new members.”

You can “friend” people and “like” posts. You can also join pages and meet up with like-minded conservatives in your home state. And like Facebook – The Tea Party Community is free of charge.

Crow said he’s not surprised by the popularity of The Tea Party Community. He expects it to become not just a social networking site – but a political networking site.

As TheBlaze previously reported, Facebook recently threatened to shut down the popular conservative website “Chicks on the Right” Facebook fan page for a post that criticized White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.

The two women behind the website, Amy Jo Clark and Miriam Weaver, are thankful that Fox News, TheBlaze and other conservative websites covered their story as the exposure helped prevent them from being censored.

“Some of the smaller sites are getting pinged and hit by these liberal trolls and there’s no one they can talk to,” Clark said.

Many others have contacted TheBlaze alleging censorship by Facebook due to their conservative views.

  No, advocating a defense only, non-pre-emptive form of approaching war is the traditional American stand regarding war. Further, the Constitution requires Congress to declare war for us to be in war. That’s not isolationism, that’s pure straight Constitutional fact and pure straight American tradition.
  
  If you feel that we should be bombing the living hell out of the rest of the world, without a Congressional declaration of war, simply on the whims of a President, then you’re not advocating Constitutional governance.
  
  That’s the thing with the Constitution, it applies to everybody, not just to some.

  I would really like for his approach to work, but the two examplesI have heard him speak about, arent’ really “positive” examples:
  
  Let them take you to court, meanwhile they take your guns. Okay, so you’ve lost your guns and even if they aren’t destroyed, they’ll be impossible to get back, and you’ll be hard pressed to be legally able to ever own another firearm. YOU LOSE.
  
  Mind your own business, concentrate on your family and try to do the right thing. Well, that’s not good enough, so the F.B.I. comes looking for your, comes to your house, entraps you. You ask for your day in court, like Glenn said, and then they give yo ua wrong date, comes to your house, murder youyr dog, murder your son, and murder your wife. YOU LOSE.

  Exactly TD. C.S. Lewis, no lightweight either as a Christian or a Philosopher, points out that the END of Pacifism is that the BAD GUYS ENSLAVE everybody else!
  Now a case could be made that that is EXACTLY what Christians are supposed to submit to, but that also means they have to go into that with Eyes Wide OPEN.
  Pacifism means letting not just YOUR family, but your NEIGHBOR’S be ENSLAVED as “the more excellent way.”
  TRUE Pacifism means you don’t allow POLICE in your Society because THAT is based on FORCE.
  Fortunately Christian Theologians beginning with the New Testament have offered another choice.
  That Premise says it is the DUTY of Christians TO the Government as well as to God, to RESIST Evil with FORCE.

My only concern is that if everybody bails on facebook, how will you reach the sleeping community? what’s the point, if you’re just preaching to the choir? yes, I have awakened a few friends, family members, and I plan to keep trying.

  Sorry there is no waking people. There are some that may be unsure of what they stand for, but I have a hard time believing that there are very many people that can be turned. It is absolutely, 100%, us against them. I agree with some of the posts that force may be the only way to secure our liberties…I’m just not sure of the ‘when’. When is it too late to do anything? In my mind, it is definitely at the point that I am unarmed. So, is the breaking point in this country AT confiscation or Before confiscation? What is really troubling is that seeing the trends of the policies and brainwashing through the media, confiscation is the next push…

I am going to check this out.

In 2010 a friend who is Liberal sent me a private message that I will never forget! He is a far gone Agenda 21 type as we have discovered. He and his wife cut us off. He had this response because my likes that were posting on my wall were offensive to him because he is a “Move On” kind of guy. We had given this guy some work when he lost his job and we had a lot of contact with them once. No shock though in the end…a liberal is a liberal. Intolerant as heck.

Then, This year again the zombies that are friends of friends “attacked” my content. I was done. People are just brain dead. They can keep reading all the garbage and stupid content. My sister long ago went down the other rabbit hole which is Farmville.

So I tried Freedom Works and ended up getting stalked by an out of control hybrid of a Ron Paul follower and an anarchist. So I am still registered but you can’t find spirited debate and good information there either.

So…I will check this out.
