GOP Senator on Rubio Immigration Reform Plan: ‘He’s Dead Wrong on This’

Republican Sens. Marco Rubio, John McCain and Lindsey Graham headlined a much publicized bipartisan legislative framework on Immigration reform announced by eight senators Monday.

The announcement was met by news that the House was working on a similar bipartisan bill which House Speaker John Boehner is confident will amount to a deal soon. The framework would address border security, guest worker and employer verification, and include a path to citizenship for the 11 million illegal immigrants already in this country.

While the news came to many as a sign of hope for at least temporary camaraderie and effective policy from a divisive Capitol, many conservatives are asking to the see the details before patting one another on the back.

During an appearance on the Laura Ingraham radio show Wednesday, Republican Louisiana Sen. David Vitter expressed some skepticism towards his colleague Marco Rubio’s approach to the issue of Immigration reform.

“Look, I love and respect Marco,” Vitter said. “I just think he’s amazingly naïve on this issue. This is the same old formula we’ve dealt with before, including when it passed in 1986 and that is promise of enforcement and immediate amnesty. And of course, the promises of enforcement never materialize. The amnesty happens immediately, the millisecond the bill is signed into law. And the same is true here.”

“As soon as you give them a legal status, they are here legally forever and probably they’re citizens pretty darn soon after,” Vitter went on to say. “And if Marco thinks no matter what happens or doesn’t happen on the enforcement side that’s not going to happen, I just think he’s nuts.”

Rubio is expected to be the key in selling the ‘Gang of Eight’ proposal to more conservative Republicans. Following Vitter’s remarks Wednesday, a source close to Rubio jabbed back at the Louisiana Senator, emailing POLITICO that “David Vitter has done some nuttier things in life.”

Vitter appeared on ‘Wilkow!‘ Thursday to discuss his comments about Rubio and his positions on Immigration reform.

“I very much like and respect Marco, I just think he’s dead wrong on this,” Vitter said Thursday. “To me this is the same old, same old model. It’s a promise of enforcement with an immediate amnesty.”

Vitter went on to compare the ‘Gang of Eight’ proposal with the failings of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

“It didn’t solve the problem, it quadrupled the problem,” Vitter said. “What were 3 million illegal aliens in our country then, grew to 11 or 12 million today.

“That’s the simple question that I have, what’s different? What’s going to prevent that from happening again?”

Watch a clip of Vitter’s interview on TheBlaze TV below:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Rubio isn’t NAIVE! I am tired of *****-FOOTING ENABLERS using such Stupid EXCUSES for NOT FIGHTING FOR RIGHT AND JUSTICE! Rubio is NOT Naive – he is incredibly MARXIST! Just like McCain.

That is EVIL in this day and age, and ESPECIALLY for a Cuban American who is NOT a Citizen qualified to run for President. He doesn’t respect the Constitution or his own heritage.

Nothing “likely” about it. Reports in this border region are that incoming traffic of the illegal variety has recently drastically increased. The person who told me about it claimed it was “nicer weather”. Daytime is – but evening, night, and early morning are FREEZING and often in the 20′s. That isn’t very good “traveling weather” yet.

As for Rand Paul, he can rotate on his Half Dim Pacifist corkscrew set of political views til the Second Coming. The Braying DONKEY!

Simple, close the border then we’ll tak about amnesty. It will never happen. We are going to get amnesty and continue to have a porous border. This will continue until some Islamic terrorists that came across the border from Mexico kill thousands of American citizens..

    Here’s the deal:

    –Close the Borders
–Kick everybody out who is on welfare, food stamps or Medicaid/Medical who is less than 65 and who are not disabled.
–Form a Quick Citizenry law that allows illegals who are working and who have not been in trouble instant citizenship if they promise to become english literate within one year and apply for a Social Security card and register in the state they live.

    Now, isn’t that easy?

Rubio’s chances on the “gang of eight” are about the same as Portman’s was on the “committree of 12″. Washington and their crisis cycle games. “gang of six”, “committee of 12″, and now the “gang of eight”. Washington is a circus, and the biggest clown is in the White House. Gabby Giffords is their poster child for gun control, and the immigration issue keeps everyone away from the deficit, and debt bomb that’s will take this nation to its knees. President Obama never ending crisis cycle is a moden day collosseum event instead of fighting gladiators we have hot button issues that are tearing us apart.

These GOP rinos attack Rubio’s plan, but it’s Obama plan they should be slamming. Rubio laid out this plan last year if you recall, which caused Obama to sign an executive order for allowing certain illegals amnesty. Rubio’s plan starts with enforcement, but in Obama’s Nevada three principled plan his enforcement dealt with only businesses, and their workpaces. Then Obama went on to describe his pathway. Background checks, back taxes, and plenaties, and they go to the “back of the line”, but his third one was a trip into the twilight zone with Lagal; which he called for “improvement of the immigration system”. Now I’m not the brightest bulb in the room, but doesn’t his third principle invalidate the second. There will never be border security, or enforcement by the Obama administration. That’s evident by the orders that have been given to ICE, DHS, and the DoJ. The illegals have been a political football for far too long, and Obama’s thrives on his use of the never ending crisis cycle. Marco Rubio is a man of his word. Something has to be done with the eleven million plus illegals, but the attacks on Rubio by so-called republicans is cover for Obama’s phony baloney three principle plan. Remember the Senate passed the ‘Fiscal Cliff” spending bill with only eight ‘no’ votes, Rubio was one, along with three democrates. Tea Time!

      ===================

Teddy Kennedy’s amnesty plan also started with enforcement as well:

I just love all the idiots who think illegal immigration isn’t a criminal offense. Entering this country w/o proper authorization and papers is a federal criminal offense. The law is under Title 18 of the Federal Penal code (the criminal code). If it wasn’t a federal criminal offense, it wouldn’t be under Title 18 the Federal Penal (Criminal) Code.

All illegal aliens are criminals and they broke federal criminal law when they illegally entered the country. I for one, am not going to give any work permission, citizenship nor amnesty to a bunch of criminals or their offspring. What part of the law do people not understand? GO READ THE LAW!!! All illegals should be rounded up and either imprisoned or deported. and their employers should be arrested, tried, and imprisoned.

Don’t be duped by the liberal marxist/communist/progressives nor the politicians. Illegals are criminals. They are just poor folks tryin g to make a living here as portrayed. Sure Mexico and other countries want to get rid of all their criminals and let them come here. They don’t want them in their country either.

Folks in this country better wake up and smell the roses – they stink to high heaven. Round them all up and either deport them or imprison them – all of them.

I’m not impressed with Marco Rubio, he is proving to be a sellout. It’s not hard to figure this out. If you have laws on the books the government refuse to enforce, how is new laws gonna fix the problem?? The best way to solve the immigration problem is the enforce the laws we already have in the books. Build a fence, strict punishment of businesses who hire illegals, enforce e-verify and the problem will fix itself as in self deportation. You wanna be an American?? You will come in the right way..

Marco Rubio has been studying the Teddy Kennedy playbook:

Teddy Kennedy on the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Bill:

“This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.”

….and for those who care, then there have been six more amnesties since the 1-time Simpson-Mazzoli amnesty was passed in 1986 (if successful, then Rubio’s would be the 8th amnesty since 1986):

    ———–
The Seven Amnesties Passed by Congress

“Since the passing of the Immigration and Reform Control Act (IRCA), 6 million illegal aliens have received amnesty in the United States. The IRCA Amnesty was supposed to “wipe the slate clean” and instead it’s lead to the current situation of 12-20 million illegal aliens living in the country.”

Seeing Rubio stand side by side with McCain and Lindsey Graham is a sign of things to come. Talk radio is invested in him, has been since 2010, so of course they’ll go easy on him or else they’ll appear to be idiots who didn’t know what they were talking about a couple years ago when they carried his water. If it was this one issue, okay, whatever, but Rubio has a history of voting for increased spending and unconstitutional laws like internet censorship and indefinite detention of American citizens. His more recent constitutional votes are clearly done in preparation of a run in 2016, knowing full well the Ron Paul crowd would savage him for continuing to vote for bigger government, and more and more conservatives will be listening to the Ron Paul supporters 4 years from now.

You can apply the logic in reverse with Ron Paul. Rush, Hannity and Levin were so invested in him being a kook candidate that 4 years after his failed run for president, they refused to acknowledge his growing and enthusiastic base of support because doing so would be to acknowledge that the man is a credible conservative voice.

Beware of Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan….faux conservatives who are buddy-buddy with the Republican talk radio establishment. Our best chance in 2016 is Rand Paul, but of course we don’t see Rush, et al. doing softball interviews with Rand.

It demoralizes people who are going through the legal process, its a very clear signal of why go through the legal process, if you can accomplish the same thing if you go through the illegal process. When the GOP abuses and cheats the grassroots, even if they are those Ron Paul “kooks”, then they are 1) telling the grassroots they do not want our support and 2) that they want a 3rd party challenger who will repesent the voices of the people they make a habit of disenfranchising.

We have one party rule in Washington now, the big government party, and they are consolidating power as we speak. It’s a worthy goal to try to take over the Republican party, but we have to throw out people like Reince Priebus and John Boehner for that to happen, and guess what, they rig the rules of the game to keep themselves in power. The fight is on, though, trust me. It’d be nice if some of the Santorum, Bachmann, Cain supporters came along and joined us in the fight against the Romney/McCain/Boehner wing of the party. For now many of them are still standing on the sideline ridiculing the “Paulbots” instead of fixing the party.

What really really irritates the talk radio people and the establishment about Ron Paul people is that we learned the rules of the game over the last 4 years and we got pretty damn good at beating the establishment at their own game, by their own rules. So they cheated, stealing rightfully earned delegate seats from liberty people across the country, most infamously in Maine where the military loving GOP ousted 10 Ron Paul delegates at the RNC, 7 of whom were military veterans.
