‘Gay’ Dog Abandoned by His Owner Over His Alleged Sexuality Was About to Be Euthanized — but Narrowly Escapes Death

It’s a bizarre case about an allegedly gay dog who was given up by his owner and then subsequently saved by a caring soul. Elton, a male American bulldog, was purportedly given over to the the Jackson Rabies Control Animal Shelter in Tennessee after he was discovered mounting another male dog. Convinced that the canine was gay, his owner left the pooch with shelter staffers, dooming him to be potentially euthanized.

A Facebook post from an individual connected to the animal shelter explains the bizarre story:

This guy was signed over to RC, not bc he’s mean or bc he tears things up, but because… His owner says he’s gay! He hunched another male dog so his owner threw him away bc he refuses to have a “gay” dog! Even if that weren’t the most assinine thing I’ve ever heard, its still discrimination! Don’t let this gorgeous dog die bc his owner is ignorant of normal dog behavior! He’s in kennel 10L and he WILL be put down tomorrow bc there is no room at the inn!

As of Friday afternoon, the post was “liked” more than 1,100 times, spawned more than 2,000 comments and was shared more than 5,300 times. Luckily for Elton, a woman who was moved by the story decided to adopt him. Stephanie Fryns, who saw the story on Facebook, subsequently rushed to adopt the dog. She posted her plans on the original announcement about the pooch’s plight.

“I am adopting this big boy first thing in the morning,” she wrote, according to Boston.com. “He will be neutered/ htwm tested/ and vetted. He will be temperament tested and then places in a rescue verified and approved home.”

Fryns inevitably made it to the shelter just hours before the dog was scheduled to be put down. So far, she claims he’s “pretty friendly.”

I guess reminding Senators that they have not made a budget in 4 years, it just too emotionally disturbing to talk about, but you can handle this story? The media does not even hide their agenda anymore by the occassional sprinkling of subject matter, its either “attack”, “gays”, “security”, or “debt”, then sprinkled with the occassional celebrity gossip as chew toy so you can wag your tail?

Maybe Pravda IS more interesting?

Wow, that dog looks like a Dogo Argentino– a very prestigious and noble breed of dog. They originate from Argentina, likely the product of breeding a bulldog with other breeds. They are always white (making them highly-visible), so that they can lead their owners on horseback on the trails through the Andes mountains.

Unfortunately, this breed is banned in some countries because it is a popular breed in dogfighting.

There is a very connected network on Facebook that does this all the time. It’s amazing – the networking, the donations, the organized transport to get a rescued dog across the country to it’s forever home…Unfortunately there are many dogs killed every day in shelters: 3-4 million cats & dogs are killed (euthanized) every year. Too many dogs are dumped in “pounds” and shelters by stupid people who suddenly find the pet they’ve had for years “inconvenient” or “old”. It’s disgusting. :(

It’s called dominance behavior, and is done to show another usually submissive dog who’s boss. The twit who owned this dog needs a good meeting with a 2×4 or maybe a pick handle. Couldn’t hurt his intelligence that’s for sure.

I’m willing to bet, given the comments of conservative dog-lovers here who understand why and how some dogs may “hunch” other dogs of the same sex, that this was staged by some member of the gay community or the Left to first, make conservatives look bad and ignorant, and second, to undermine a key rebuttal of the “it happens in nature” argument.

Conservative understand that homosexual behavior occurs in the animal kingdom, and in that regard, it is “natural”. However, conservatives also understand, that just because animals do it, doesn’t mean human beings should too.

I could be wrong, but then again, if I am right, this wouldn’t be the first time that gay activists tried to make conservatives look bad by staging an attack on them.

There are a lot of people like this idiot who shouldn’t own a pet. I have 3 dogs and it was heartwrenching to see the picture of that dog behind that fence. I wish people like this with no heart or soul could be euthanized.

  I find this article very moving… there are so many good animals destroyed every day only because there is no space or money to keep them alive and cared!!!Bravo for the guy connected to the shelter who took the time to tell the story and Bravo for Stephanie willing to give this dog a chance to have a life and be loved!!!
