‘I Believe in Roe v. Wade’: Geraldo Rivera Confirms Possible GOP Senate Run — But Warns of His Liberal Social Views
Fox News host Geraldo Rivera shocked political observers on Thursday when he announced on his radio show that he’s considering a potential Senate run in New Jersey. On Friday morning, he followed up on this bombshell with an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” where he outlined his vision for the Republican Party and commented further on his potential candidacy.
As TheBlaze previously reported, Rivera might run on the GOP ticket, likely against eitherΒ Democratic Sen. Frank Lautenberg or Newark Mayor Cory Booker. The television host and commentator confirmed that he “very well may” seek office and that he still has some time to decide. If he does seek the Senate, Rivera will need to leave his on-air position at Fox.
During his Fox interview with Gretchen Carlson and Steve Doocey, the potential Republican contender took some time to deliver what, by many accounts, sounded like a stump speech. Outlining his vision for the GOP, Rivera also tackled some essential issues he’s passionate about.

“I really doΒ believeΒ as a modern Republican that there is a point of view that isΒ unrepresentedΒ in states like New Jersey,” he proclaimed. “There can be a new vitilization of the Republican Party — a concept where we extol the virtues of good business and fiscalΒ policyΒ and we fight the deficit and we don’t advocate theΒ printingΒ of money inΒ obsceneΒ amounts just to cover our debts. We have to rein in entitlements.”
Geraldo was also candid about his less-than-traditional GOP views on social issues. He noted his penchant for immigration reform, his embrace of “gay rights and gay marriage” and, perhaps most flammable, his views on abortion.
“I believe in choice — notΒ obscenelyΒ – but I believe in Roe v. Wade,” he noted. “So you have to take my fiscal positions on being a Republican who believes that we have to bail out future generations rather than in-debt futureΒ generationsΒ – with some of these social policies that aren’t in sync with much of traditional GOP politics, at least in recent years.”

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 2:23pmNY has GOP members who took 30,000 dollars from Mayor Bloomberg to vote for gay marriage. These same bozos then voted for Cuomo’s gun control laws. So Rivera as a GOP member in the NE will do fine. He believes in killing babies unlike Menendez, who like ‘new girls’ per some of the prostitutes; and I really do not understand what he means by that “bail out future generations …” bit. Something tells me it means raised taxes rather than cutting spending. Best of luck NJ. Getting him off the air is already a plus for me.

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 2:19pmThe Blaze has been OCCUPIED by the anarchists/ radical crowd who called for ‘revolution” in the New York Times in 2008. Even after the Divide the Dumb Conservative Campaign which aided the Democrats, Guess they are still working on it. Want to win the House too. Defaming Republicans and smearing the entire political system. Guess they are the political version of the anti-capitalist anarchist crowd. The only one who will win a ” revolution” is the power in the White House who holds all of the cards in his hands due to Martial Law.

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 1:57pmGeraldo’s a RINO at best and a Democrat at worst. He and Chris Christie deserve each other, as does New Jersey. I can fully see the RNC supporting him, though, in a shameless attempt to pander to special interest voting blocks since the party, itself, really stnads for nothing these days.
At least people are finally starting to give more serious looks to their Libertairan, Constitutional and and Conservative candidates, regadless of the party letter that follows their name.

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 1:19pmI admire that he is up front with his views and opinions. He should register as a Democrat, simply because of his liberal social views. He is WAY to left leaning to be anything else.

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 12:53pmI think Geraldo’s move to the right in running as a Republican is not an indication of any kind of failure as a GOP party, at all. I think people who believe the GOP are the problem need to focus more carefully on exactly what is happening to our country. Geraldo is moving toward the Republican Party because his party, the Democrats, are failing HIM. Even with his Left leaning views, his party has gone off the charts toward Socialism and a complete remake of our country as founded under the Laws of God. If you listen and watch the MSM you see more of a worship of pop culture idols like Beyonce’. Obama is treated as a stylistic hip kinda president, rather that the Commander and Chief. History has been stripped out of text books in schools and replaced with some kind of psuedo Liberal gobbldy-guk, and God has been stripped from our Govt’s halls. We are turning into some kind of dumbed down, lazy, worthless population and we’re headed for disaster. Rebelling against the GOP is only going to make things worse. I think there is room for moderates, TEA Party Conservatives, as well as Libertarians under ONE banner of the Republican party. Together we can stand. Divided we will certainly fall.

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 12:51pmFox News the Jew Network! GR is Jewish and just another Jew set up to pose as a Republican to eat out the party from the inside and convert it into another arm of the Jewish Democrap Party. The sad thing is White Christian Conservatives really believe Fox News is a Conservative Voice. Under the guise of Fair and Balance they constantly allow the Liberals a voice to be heard on their station,
How long are White Christians going to believe that Non Whites and Jews on fox news are their friends.. Fox tells you in its name…FOX…who they are. White just dont understand that THEY are the Chickens in the Chicken Coop.

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 12:48pmCan’t stand Geraldo BUT the sooner the GOP quits getting on the hook for social issues and starts getting the checkbook under control – the better. Let’s get our financial house in order. Abortion, Gay marriage, racial discrimination -> these are all distractions to keep them divided. Fix the money – let the social issues revert to the states where people can live among those they choose – we will NEVER get Utah & California to agree “vote with your feet”. Immigration reform is a play for more voters – and we all know it – and the progressives don’t care if it’s known – the masks are OFF!

Hes sees the ruling elite lining their pockets with taxpayer money and wants to be among them instead of being one of the peasants being robbed by the ruling elite. With amnesty coming for illegal aliens he wants to get his hands on the pie before its cut up and divided among them in the name of social justice. This man has no integrity and does not belong in politics.
