Reddit Users Help Raise More Than $18,000 for Mall Security Guard Who Tased Abrasive Mom in Viral Vid

Reddit users have helped raise more than $18,000 to buy new and better equipment for “kick ass mall cop” Darien Long after video of him using his Taser on an out of control mother went viral.

The incident that quickly garnered national attention occurred about eight months ago at Atlanta’s Metro Mall. It all began when Long, who is both the on-site manager and security guard at the mall, attempted to quiet a group of children who were making noise, prompting the kids’ mother to begin harassing and threatening him.

Long showed incredible patience and restraint as the mother and a number of other women berated him continuously. Even the young children eventually began mocking the security guard, calling him “gay.”

The mother who started the initial confrontation eventually assaulted Long, forcing him to use his Taser on the woman.

The entire ordeal was recorded on the camera on Long’s bulletproof vest. The video, posted on Reddit Tuesday, has since gone viral.

Long now has a formidable group of online supporters who are applauding his handling of the situation. The fundraising effort on crowdtilt.com will reportedly go towards purchasing Long better gear and equipment.

As of 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, the Internet campaign had raised $18,571.53 — and it doesn’t expire for another 26 days. ”This campaign is verified by Crowdtilt (and they will disburse the funds directly to Darien),” the page says.

I have to agree these people are little more than animals and they have the right to vote? I’m appalled that our tax dollars go to fund this baby creating dependency leech, thats just creating more dependency leeches. To cure this growing problem, cut the additional money from welfare off at the first kid, require mandatory drug screeing before they can get any money at all and deny to right to vote while recieving any form of handout from the government. Thats right I called it a handout because its not an “entitlement” the use of that word makes it seems that people receiving a government handout are due that money for something they have accomplished to deserve it. This would extend to those that after taxes are actually getting more back from the goverment than what to put into the system which is just another handout, so they to would loose the right to vote and would require drug testing before they got the refund check. Theres more that I would do but this is a start.

It is this portion of our society that is a plague. I must pay to support people like this? This is social justice? I should feel compassion for people like this? My stomach is in a knot with disgust and anger. These women show a complete lack of respect, restraint, maturity, etc., etc. Their mob like behavior is barbaric, and reminds me of a pack of stray dogs. Even better, she is responsible (and I use that word lightly) for children who already emulate her actions. There are those that say they are fearful of the future of this country. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s here. This is just one of many examples of how far we have fallen…

  Agreed. Meanwhile the media and libturds tell us “nobody needs an assault rifle or high capacity magazines”. After viewing the video and witnessing the insanity of those women, can you imagine what would happen if the gubmint stopped supporting them? They would be at your front door trying to take everything in your house. And thus the reason I own a gun with high capacity magazines. That way, when a couple of feral inner-city gorillas bust down my door, I don’t have to worry about accuracy. Just squeeze the trigger and point.

Yet another reason why I don’t go downtown anymore. The streets are crawling with disrespectful people (I won’t say animals because most animals don’t act this badly) like these. It’s so sad those kids are learning to respect no one, just like their mother.

The only thing standing between you and these animals coming to your front door to redistribute your wealth is your gun rights under the 2nd Amendment. In England violence went up 400% since they banned guns. Does anyone doubt that in the U.S. it would be more like 1200% to 2000%. The animals would take over. Race is and has been the biggest problem in America for many generations and it’s not getting aby better – even with our great unifier prez.

  This guard is obviously a decent gent. Why is it that such a huge percentage of his fellows act like animals as opposed to other ethnic groups. I wonder if this is how the ‘curse of Cain’ is perpetuated. These folks are loud, rude, self absorbed, and then wonder why it is that they’re not generally well recieved.

  This is typical behavior with these people, I have never been fooled by their smoke and mirrors BS, if this had been a white security guard he would be dead and no news would have been seen or heard about it. Better be ready,because when these people go to the store and there are no more groceries on the shelves for them to buy with their food stamp cards, they will band together and start taking what they can find. these people live by the law of the jungle, if you want to test it, just be the only white in a crowd and disagree about the slightest subject with them, and they will either force you to change what you say or you will be attacked.

But, some black people think its appropriate to respond this way to any type of criticism of their out of control welfare dependent children. You’d think that since society has to pay for their babysitters(public schools) and all of their food(ebt and 4 meals a day at public schools) they might find it in their gutter **** hearts to actually thank someone who is working to pay said taxes.
