A great deal of buzz is surrounding “The Bible,” a new mini-series slated to premiere on the History Channel on March 3. The show, divided into five parts, will take viewers through 10 hours of Biblical reenactments, covering the holy book’s major events from Genesis to Revelation. Created by famed reality-show producer Mark Burnett and his wife, actress Roma Downey, the endeavor is turning heads and creating a fair bit of intrigue. This week, an extended-look trailer has been released, offering new scenes and a fresh lens into what viewers can expect to see.
The four-minute clip opens with a scene featuring Noah and his famed ark. You’ll also get a sneak-peak at Moses and the burning bush, Jesus’ birth (and baptism), the moments before his crucifixion and the Biblical stories that follow the resurrection. The action-packed video, featuring a litany of scenes from the Judeo-Christian tradition, is worth watching.

Feb. 1, 2013 at 4:32pmSo exicted to see this. Although i fear it may not be directly consistent with the bible it will be nice to see some sorta reference of the bible and its glorious insight of our past on Tv. not to mention a channel that is poplular and that may reach more of an audience. Maybe itll pull in a younger audience that will gain a hunger to know of the bible and then know of God and our beloved Jesus i would glady ask my friends to watch this. Then when they have questions cause im sure there will be holes left in their minds i will be glad to answer, So dont be so quick to dispise the show but see the opportunity to allow people to take the first step to saying I wounder what else does the bible say. God Bless

Just because a person is not a follower of blind guides does not make them a follower of other leaders.
In these last days there be many who confess to know God but do not and these are they that lead many others to ruin and destruction.

Feb. 1, 2013 at 2:32pmA virgin birth of the Messiah was foretold. Mary was chosen by God to bear the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Trinity, Jesus. She was preserved free from original sin from her conception.
Her body was to remain pure and inviolate. She did not suffer pain when giving birth to Jesus, because she was not as other women, subject to pain in childbirth.

Feb. 1, 2013 at 3:11pmYour entire comment is so fraught with error and lies so as to mislead the ignorant and yet you speak as though you knew, which you surely do not.
The modern Christian world is today the fulfillment of being the great whore of Babylon, which not surprisingly is America.
1. There is no second person of the trinity, which is a man devised concept.
2. Miriam was not sinless before, during or after her conception of the 1 true God.
3. Neither was she exempt from experiencing pain during her delivery.
Those who continue to speak apart from the Spirit of truth are not serving God, but thedevil who goes about, through these imposters,as an angel of light.

Feb. 1, 2013 at 2:21pmIf the King James version is not the true scripture then why doesn’t all the NEW AGE BIBLES contradict each other instead of always pointing at the KJV for being wrong all the time! Man is always trying to get out of being held to a set rule. Man is the reason for sin in the first place. God gave the scripture for you to see yourself and know whether u need to wash your face off.. Its your MIRROR to look into.. To know if you have dirt on your face. How else would anyone know that he is a sinful person.. That is why that scripture must be set with CONFUSION.. Satan needs for you all to accept those new so called bibles that make men effeminates and less offensive.. Remember before the law, MAN DID THAT WHICH WAS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES! Where the King James has () around a word.. It is a word added that was not found in our language for the Hebrew word used. The parenthesis allow you to understand that it was added as close to the word that had been needed. The men chosen to translate were chosen spiritually by God himself, and they had such a respect they would not read the scriptures without standing up. They would not change one TITLE, or SPOT as the scriptures bade them NOT TO.. But man was not happy with it, and satan terrified of it so he had man to dispute it, and corrupt it.. Satan comes quickly and taketh away the word! <—Actually in the KJV! Virgin Birth, the name Jehovah, ect <—- not in the new versions

Feb. 1, 2013 at 4:46pmOk Charlie, I’ll type slow so you can follow along. The Supreme Court has said a religion need not be based on a belief in the existence of a supreme being. In the 1961 case of Torcaso v. Watkins, the court described “secular humanism” as a religion.
Oh, I’m sorry, did the facts upset your lies? Libs rely too much on falsehoods and ignorance.

15 Some preach Christ even through envy and strife, and some also of good will.
16 The one part preacheth Christ of contention, and not purely, supposing to add more affliction to my bands.
17 But the others of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the Gospel.
18 What then? Yet Christ is preached all manner ways, whether it be under a pretence, or sincerely; and I therein joy, yea, and will joy.
19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and by the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
20 As I heartily look for, and hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all confidence, as always, so now Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death.

Feb. 2, 2013 at 10:53amThe ‘trailer’ starts off showing the Ark ploughing through the waves as if it is under power with a bow shaped hull. Was the Ark a boat or was it an ark?
This is what is objectionable as to the accuracy of the presentation. If the film cannot even get that right, then we can expect even more inaccuracies throughout the mini-series.
It matters to sincere Christians, and we resent people mis-representing the Word of God and teaching their own ideas, adding details that are not stated in scripture. The Bible does not need to be embellished with Hollywood editing.

Feb. 1, 2013 at 1:45pmThe Bible is a collection of canonical texts dating back several thousand years. Are you implying that, over the course or roughly 4000 years, a conspiracy was hatched to create such a great work of fiction complete with references to events that would happen hundreds of years after they were first told?
That’s quite a stretch, Stretch!

Feb. 1, 2013 at 1:53pmNo it would not be more appropriate on the SCI-FI channel since the Bible has had most of its story, people, places, events proven by hard material facts and evidence. Sci-fi is made up things that could, happen, might have happened, ect that has NO absolute evidence at all. Furthermore, when trying to prove the Bible as fantasy, the scientists have done more to PROVE that the Bible is authentic (KING JAMES 1611) than they have to increase doubt. All places that have been investigated had such similarities and proof that what the Bible had taught, was so that even those scientists could NOT rule any of it out at all. FOr instance, when the Roman army was about to take Madera, there was a few of Israel left. They did not want to be taken an tortured so they used broken pieces of pottery, wrote upon it their names, and that was the way they chose who was to be killed in the order they were to take their lives. Fast forward to now, the scientist unearthed that pottery pieces with jewish names upon it.. Dating to the actual time period in the same exact area of Medera, and evidence of the Roman destruction,WITH BONES of those that the Bible had been directly speaking of. That is JUST ONE simple example. Keep trying to disprove it, and by your own disbelief, it shall open the door to faith for all!

Feb. 1, 2013 at 4:36pmThe Bible is historically relevant regardless of whether so much as a single word of it is true. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in the entirety of the Jewish Bible (not being Christian I’m more skeptical of the later books). I’m merely pointing out that, regardless of whether the events portrayed are true, they were and continue to be perceived as true by a large percentage of the world throughout our history.

Feb. 1, 2013 at 4:55pmI agree with you….you cannot receive things of the Word by the mind of man, but only by your spirit which connects to the Holy Spirit that inspired the writers of this great handbook of life (God reveals the good and the bad alike on purpose) They are not fairy tales ~ not even great stories; they are TRUTH!…It upsets me that they show children Biblical events as stories that read like fairy tales, claiming it helps them to understand on their level. When the Lord clearly said the Gospel could be understood even by children…I started reading out of the Bible very young and never lost the love of these great and wondrous truths… Often our big fat heads get in the way of the truth. Truth is understood in the hEARt for God placed an ear in there to hEAR Him.Amen!….
btw Mary full of grace (by grace you are saved. It is a gift of God lest any should boast.) walked in what we as believers walk in as the Angel spoke of to her…We who received Jesus as Savior and Lord, born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God by accepting the gift of God, His Son..the Christ (into our life/hEARt)! To be able to carry Jesus in her body (womb) Mary received the gift of faith to receive grace! “Be it unto me!” A woman ‘of flesh’ could never carry that which is Holy & Sinless w/o the flesh being destroyed by this Holy, Anointed Being just attempting to reside in it! So Grace that was provided by her Son on the cross was appropriated to Mary(purposed of God)to bare Him!
