10 of the Best Quotes from Slain SEAL Chris Kyle’s Book ‘American Sniper’

Top 10 Quotes from Chris Kyle Book American Sniper

Chris Kyle (Source: Erik Tanner for TIME)

The shocking news that former SEAL sniper Chris Kyle was shot to death at a Texas gun range will likely reverberate for some time. And in honor of his life, we have included 10 of the best quotes from his incredible memoir, “American Sniper,” courtesy of Commonquote.com:

10. “To top things off, the Iraqis had sent some Scuds over just before the war started. Most had been taken care of by Patriot missiles, but one got through. Wouldn’t you know it took out the Starbucks where we’d hung out during our prewar training? That’s low, hitting a coffee place. It could have been worse, I guess. It could have been a Dunkin’ Donuts.”

9. “Isn’t religion supposed to teach tolerance?”

8. “At another location, we found barrels of chemical material that was intended for use as biochemical weapons. Everyone talks about there being no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but they seem to be referring to completed nuclear bombs, not the many deadly chemical weapons or precursors that Saddam had stockpiled.”

7. “I began teaching my son how to shoot when he was two, starting with the basics of a BB rifle. My theory is that kids get into trouble because of curiosity—if you don’t satisfy it, you’re asking for big problems. If you inform them and carefully instruct them on safety when they’re young, you avoid a lot of the trouble. My son has learned to respect weapons. I’ve always told him, if you want to use a gun, come get me. There’s nothing I like better than shooting.”

6. “The rules are drawn up by lawyers who are trying to protect the admirals and generals from the politicians; they’re not written by people who are worried about the guys on the ground getting shot.”

5. “I never really believed the Iraqis would turn the country into a truly functioning democracy, but I thought at one point that there was a chance. I don’t know that I believe that now. It’s a pretty corrupt place. But I didn’t risk my life to bring democracy to Iraq. I risked my life for my buddies, to protect my friends and fellow countrymen. I went to war for my country, not Iraq. My country sent me out there so that bullshit wouldn’t make its way back to our shores. I never once fought for the Iraqis. I could give a flying [fu**] about them.”

4. “People tell me I saved hundreds and hundreds of people. But I have to tell you: it’s not the people you saved that you remember. It’s the ones you couldn’t save. Those are the ones you talk about. Those are the faces and situations that stay with you forever.”

3. “Another question people ask a lot: Did it bother you killing so many people in Iraq? I tell them, “No.” And I mean it. The first time you shoot someone, you get a little nervous. You think, can I really shoot this guy? Is it really okay? But after you kill your enemy, you see it’s okay. You say, Great. You do it again. And again. You do it so the enemy won’t kill you or your countrymen. You do it until there’s no one left for you to kill. That’s what war is.”

2. “Just because war is hell doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun.”

1. “I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

“Chris Kyle sounds like just another street hoodlum in military cammies. Probably better that these violent psychopaths get taken out.”

WASPANGLOSAXON you are an idiot. Chris Kyle was not “just another street hoodlum in military cammies” you moron.

“His longest confirmed shot was from 2,100 yards, or 1.2 miles, when he killed a man armed with a rocket launcher.”

Your definition of a “violent psychopath” is way the fck off. Let’s have someone aim a rocket launcher at your face and we’ll see how you determine mental health at that point loser.

Regarding the last part of your comment, “Probably better that these violent psychopaths get taken out.” Never mind. I have been told not to argue with idiots as they will beat me with experience. Rot.

God bless Chris Kyle! A true American hero. I am a Christian…and my favorite quote is #5…though the all were good. Strong sentiments of an American warrior often include a “cuss word” or two. I learn this from my great grandfather the ww2 hero. I would reply the same in #5 to an American preacher who would have a problem with it. And as you may hopefully know, the false gospelbhas been preached around the world already, let’s get real God is in control and anyone who doesn’t know may be playing a little devil. If people don’t know that God is in control they shouldn’t pray to Him when a masked intruder appears wielding a weapon. And finally, concerning Chris Kyle: “True warriors never die.”

This guy’s quotes make him sound like the typical low IQ ZOG army rat. He was, basically a psychopathic serial murderer who finally got the big payback. He says he went to Iraq “so that (expletive deleted) wouldn’t come to out shores”. Come on! Anybody knows better than that, just as anyone knows that there were never any WMDs. If you wanna try and justify the fact that you enjoy murdering people, at least be honest about it.
He also bragged about punching people out because he disagreed with their opinions. I think that other guy did us all a great service. Karma’s a real kick in the teeth.

I think quote # 2 basically says it all. This guy was just a dumb, pro-Zionist redneck, the typical ‘dumb goy’ that the Israelis laugh about. Well, he was in love with violence, so he got what he deserved. Anyone who writes a book bragging about how many people he’s murdered deserves to go out this way.

This was the hardest one for me to read. Two kids have lost their father, and a wife her husband. R.I.P., Chris Kyle, and thank you for all that you have done for our country while in service and after, and bless his family. I am so sorry for your loss.

When I first saw the article on Chris Kyle the name rang a bell. I had written down a quote from Chris Kyle around the time of the controversy of who made the call to ki// bin laden. Here is the quote: “In years to come there is going to be information that will come out that Obama was not the man who made the call. He can say he did and the people who really know what happened are inside the Pentagon, are in the military and the military isn’t allowed to speak out against the C-I-C, so his secret is safe”. So, for me, the bigger question here is why have there been such an inordinate amount of SEAL deaths since the OBL raid? Why hasn’t someone in the media tied all of these controversial deaths of our Navy SEALs? They could start with the raid itself and all the still unanswered questions, then they could truly cover the downed helicopter with the 22 SEALs on board and I don’t know, how about the Dogherty and Woods in Benghazi? Were no rescue attempts made simply because they were Ex-SEALs? Kyle’s death is a tremendous loss. Unfortunately, our media will probably only focus on PTSD, attack our Vets mental status and still aid the WH in trying to confiscate guns. Sad, sad day.

Day is done … Gone the sun…From the lakes …. From the hills…From the sky .. All is well . Safely rest … God is nigh
Fading light .. Dims the sight … And a star … Gems the sky… Gleaming bright .. From afar … Drawing nigh … Falls the night ..
Thanks and praise .. For our days.. Neath the sun . Neath the stars …
Neath the sky … As we go.. This we know. God is nigh.

I was not aware of these words associated with TAPS untli my father died a few years ago…fitting words for a worrior.

    Rest In Peace, Chris.

The death of Chris Kyle is beyond sad.
It is not only the death of a patriotic hero
But is symbolic of the death of our Nation
“They” are intentionally destroying all that we stand for
All that exemplifies “heroic” and “courageous”
They are systematically destroying our dreams in the process

They may take our guns.. but our dreams are embedded in our hearts.
Lift up your Sword The Holy Word of God
Soon they will be coming for that as well
The Time is at Hand .. Pray to our Heavenly Father
He truly is our ONLY HOPE
