Chris Matthews: John McCain’s an ‘Angry’ Vietnam Vet Who’s Having ‘Flashbacks’

MSNBC host Chris Matthews on Friday declared Sen. John McCain just an “angry” Vietnam veteran who’s having a “flashback” for his sharp questioning of defense secretary nominee Chuck Hagel.

“Why is John McCain so angry? Forty years after the Vietnam POWs came home, the most famous of them is angrier than ever,” Matthews said to kicked off his show “Hardball.”

The Arizona Republican had a particularly tough exchange with Hagel during his Senate confirmation hearing Thursday over Hagel’s past criticism of the Iraq War surge, including once calling it the “most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam.” McCain repeatedly demanded Hagel give a direct yes-or-no answer on whether he was correct in that characterization, which Hagel refused to do, saying he would “defer to the judgement of history.”

Matthews said Friday McCain harbored “a resentment not against the North Vietnamese who imprisoned and tortured him all those years, not against George W. Bush and his political henchmen who tried to stain McCain’s reputation back in 2000,” but against Hagel, a man who also fought in America’s “long nightmare in Vietnam.”

“A nightmare whose flashbacks must haunt still the mind and heart of John Sidney McCain,” Matthews said.

Matthews will never know the valor, the honor and the integrity of giving blood, sweat and tears for a cause that is larger than Chris Matthews.

Who is coming up with all those publicity gems at MSNBC?

    I’m confused!

I thought “angry” was a dog whistle for “African American”.

I guess “angry” is also a dog whistle for “white Vietnam veteran”.

What has happened to Chris Mathews brain? Upon his demise, it should be sliced up & studied in an attempt to discover why people evolve into this kind of perverted thinking. He has really lost it over the past decade.

Chris Matthews, what a hypocrite! His show should be called THE ANGRY GIRL!!! He has been angry in all of his shows. For him to have that much anger throughout his life could only be that he feels that he should have been born a female——Thus the THE ANGRY GIRL title of his show.

At least John McCain isn’t being controlled by obozo like Chris Mathews is. He talks to dictator obozo everyday to get his talking points because he’s too stupid to come up with his own. Mind you, obozo’s aren’t much better. There will be a huge party the day Mathews and the rest of those a$$ kissers are kicked to the curb by the new news media you’ll be getting after the liberals are booted from the WH and the senate.

Chris isn’t fit to carry John McCain’s bags, much less call him out for being angry about the way things are going in Washington. McCain is justifiably upset about the direction his country is headed. We need more righteous anger inside the beltway.

Matthews is seriously deluded now, making pronouncements upon what is in others’ heads. Good thing sane McCain is questioning and voting on Hagel, not Matthews.

So exactly what would the effeminate Chis Mathews know about Vietnam vets or any other vet?
Probably about as much as he knows about objective journalism.
BSNBC is absolutely NOTHING more than a propaganda machine for 0bama and the progressive/socialist left.
Someday all 5 of it’s regular viewers will figure that out and Chrissy will be replaced by reruns of the Three Stooges.

Chris Matthews gives any intelligent viewer ” flashes” of an obtuse idiot running his mouth off, spouting Far Left propaganda to gain approval from the White House. Matthews is not only guilty of insipid ” reporting,” but he comes across as a pathetically pandering puppet.

Jeez he’s brave behind that desk and all that security. I would have loved to have seen him in a hole with those big green .51 tracers inches over his head. I’ll bet he would be curled up in a ball crying for mommy and ******* his little Chrissy pink undies. Sniff, sniff…hummm…what’s that smell? Oh man. Did you poo your pinks too? Get out of my hole. Over there; another hole. See it’s John Kerry. Go there, he’ll give you a bandaid…he has plenty.

To say that the Vietnam vets were treated poorly upon their return home is the understatement of the century. The way they were abused is a national disgrace and it’s cowards like Matthews who spat on returning vets. Chrissy is a POS who shouldn’t be allowed a national audience to spew his BS.

John McCain answered the call and paid a heavy price, five years as a pow and all the torture that went with it. As a politician I don’t care for his politics because he’s a progressive,he has an ‘R’ next to his name but he’s still a progressive like all ‘D’s and almost all ‘R’s.

Pro: Agree. The VietNam years brings back the nasty behavior of the 60s radicals and their anti-military / anti-American attitudes which, unfortunately, the Obama Chicago Democrats have brought back to us. JOHN KERRY ?! The frosting on the ugly, radical Obama cake.
