Rev. Jesse Jackson on Saturday called for the Department of Homeland Security to help patrol the streets of Chicago to deal with soaring gun violence in the city and for President Barack Obama to come and personally address the issue.
Jackson was holding a rally and march in honor of Hadiya Pendleton, the sophomore honors student shot dead in a local park days after performing at Obama’s second inauguration.
Jackson said Chicago needs more help than either Mayor Rahm Emanuel or police superintendent Garry McCarthy can provide, Reuters reported, and called for Obama to return to his hometown.
“When the president shows up, it shows ultimate national seriousness,” Jackson, a Chicago resident, said.
Jackson first called for “immediate federal intervention and Homeland Security in Chicago” Friday after homicide totals surpassed 45 for the month of January alone.
Jackson has been a proponent of new gun control measures, saying last month that “semi-automatic” and “assault weapons” need to be banned because they pose threats to national security with the capability to “shoot down planes.”

I’m sure “Dead Fish” would really appreciate his (Jackson’s) rare and unusual talents. Has this guy ever had a positive ending to anything he started?

He and Farakant have used anger and hatred to get rich regardless of the outcome. Yet they are considered relevant in todays society. This is not what MLK fought for. This is what he fought against. Jackson is as important as Whooping cough or Malaria. We need a vaccine to protect us from his viral effects.

Instead of calling on an agency whose job is NOT to patrol within our borders (they were created to deal with external threats, not internal) due your own job and start educating your people’s culture and CHANGING IT so that crime between your people isn’t so pandemic. Also, perhaps if your people would stop playing the victom and ‘race’ card everytime something happens to you, you’ll get more sympathy.

Lack of federal police patrolling is not the cause of the violence. The causes of the violence are the very things you lobby for. Lack of personal responsibility, lack of accountability, the erosion of the family through the reward system for fathering/birthing babies without any means to care for them, or any desire to care and provide for them. Let’s have the government become the provider. The decline of moral values through the erosion of the church and the rise of government…. Perhaps you should patrol the streets and tell people to start going to church, get a job, get out of the gangs, quit using/selling drugs, and above all, quit killing people.

Have men that teach and lead their families with a value system based in TRUTH. A family unit that based on loving relationships. Maybe the Rev could define the battle of good and evil and the Hope that all of us have because good will prevail in the eternal realm.
These same TRUTHS would apply to everyone no matter the skin color.
Time for the Reverend to decide if he is a politician, community organizer, or a Reverand. If you are a Reverand…..then let’s hear more about the TRUTHS that will set us all free!!!

Feb. 3, 2013 at 1:13pmit’s too late folks. Saw a segment on Huntington, WV local NBC channel WSAZ where a group of 8 different lawenforcement agencies performed a drug raid for meth in Logan County. They showed the men going in a house or apartment and on the back of one of the officers was “Homeland Security.” Obama’s police force has arrived. The segment ran Feb. 1 st or 2nd.

They are more like Hilter’s Brownshirts and SA than the police or sheriffs.
The Constitution prohibits the regular army from performing the duties of the police except in times of insurrection. I guess since they are not the army, they can weasel around that regulation. (Posse Comitatus Act)
