White House Dared People to Photoshop Obama’s Gun Picture…and Did They Ever

You’ve probably seen the newly-released photo of President Barack Obama doing what he says they do “all the time” — skeet shooting at Camp David.

The photo carried a standard notice from the White House concerning how the picture is used:

“This official White House photograph is being made available only for publication by news organizations and/or for personal use printing by the subject(s) of the photograph. The photograph may not be manipulated in any way and may not be used in commercial or political materials, advertisements, emails, products, promotions that in any way suggests approval or endorsement of the President, the First Family, or the White House.”

Following the release of the picture, Obama adviser David Plouffe sent a tweet basically daring people to mock the image.

So naturally, the American people took up Plouffe’s challenge. Less than 24 hours later, we have amassed a few of the edited photos that are currently circling the Internet.

    If Obama really shot that way shooting skeets, then we would have heard by now of a few Secret Service agents having had their heads blown off! I’ve shot enough skeets myself to know that the gun angle should have been less horizontal because the skeets are thrown high into the air to prevent PEOPLE getting shot!

      The pilots and crew of Marine One – the helicopter used to ferry the POTUS and staff to and from Camp David – have spoken out. When skeet shooting is going on there, they have to close the hangar doors as pellets frequently ping off the staff, helicopters or doors when they’re closed. The has been little to no skeet shooting these past four years. MUCH the eight years prior.

      One other thing. There is digital information encoded in the photograph produced by the White House. In it is a date code from August 2012, and data showing it has already been manipulated by photoshop as recently as last month. Photoshopped information from the POTUS? A lot like his bogus birth certificate, produced in 3 layers from different sources, different type faces.

      Definitely a staged shot. When you shoot skeet it is in motion, especially at this level, your usually on a second shot moving the gun down. This photo is probably him shooting but not skeet

      Hahaha, This story was written by people who don’t know how to read!!
      The challenge wasn’t to photoshop the image. Plouffe was clearly referring to the idea that conspiracy theorists will say that the image was already photoshopped (like the birthers do).

      I am not a fan of Obama, but two things: First, skeet can be shot low since they are falling to the ground and not all skeet is sent high into the air, they can be sent straight out in front of you. Second, nobody is ever in front of somebody shooting or there is a good possibility of getting shot… Get a clue…

      You are wrong, “ported” barrels do not have one hole on the “side” of the barrel.Mahna ported, or “ported” barrels are ported on the top, with angle holes to to keep the barrel down for quicker followup shots,this is done to rifles and handguns,never in my life (though it may be so), have i seen magna ported shotguns.If i had to guess, the pic is real, using a light load,no pellets in the shell.The hole on the side is to merely vent off pressurized gas from the barrel, all but eliminating recoil.An untouched off the shelf round, would have ripped that pos girly mans shoulder off…….Take note, no evidence of recoil at all in that pic,and only one pic,where are the pics of the clays being launched?!………

      I shot skeet once and the towers had both high and low throwers. Neither matched the angles that he’s holding that shotgun. I did shoot a lot of trap and he’s shooting at an angle consistent with that. My guess would be that if that’s a picture of him actually shooting anything, it’s trap, not skeet. For someone who’s as anti gun as he is, he is using a rather expensive shotgun. I have to wonder if it is a gun from a Camp David gun room.

      It is an expensive shotgun that has been ported to reduce muzzle climb for the follow up shot. The gases that you see discharging from the top of the barrel is coming out of those ports.

      CONSTITUTIONAL AMERICAN:
      Re the gas/smoke coming out the side of the barrel–my first thought was “what the hell is that?” I haven’t seen a shotgun/rifle with a gas port at the business end of the barrel like that. I suppose it’s possible that some of these fancy skeet guns might have that, but I don’t know. In the picture, the top barrel also looks a little longer than the bottom barrel, is that typical of an over/under(I don’t think so). Just asking as I’ve shot double barrels(conventional), pumps, and semis, but not an over/under. The top barrel looks like it has thingamadoo at the end, what’s up with that?

      No. The “relevant” text is not the standard disclaimer attached to the image, it’s what The Blaze calls the Plouffe “daring” people to photoshop the image, which he’s not. Again, he is clearly referring to potential accusations that the image is photoshopped. Do you agree? Plouffe was not challenging anyone to alter the photo (otherwise, it would make no sense to refer to “conspiracies” here). That’s just plain reading.

      The citori (Browning) in the photo appears to have a choke extension and a ported barrel… Any ported barrels I’ve ever seen are ported equally on both sides of the barrel, not the top. IMO the photo is fake as any exhausted gas would be expelled to the sides and not the top.

      Not to defend the aba-moa, but the shotgun position isn’t ‘wrong’ for shooting either skeet or trap. In both venues, the clays come oout of a house/blind- trap houses are below line of sight, sket houses are both ‘hi’ and ‘low’, depending upon the scenario. So, the position of his gun isn’t necesarily ‘wrong’. What is wrong is his stance, the lack of recoil, the barrel ports not both emitting the ‘smoke’ (which I think is either water vapor or a small black powder charge), and the roadway nearby, seming to run right into the shooting lane. Also, if he is such an ‘avid’ shooter, why are we only now getting the pictures- which miraculously appear after his comments are questioned. Just like his birth certificate, there’s nothing honest or real about this POS.

Whereas shooting the BS he should be called “dead eye Barry,” not because of his accuracy in truth, but in getting so many to buy it. When he’s not shooting it, he apparently is eating it, because flies buzz around and land on his face. Before long Barry’s face will qualify as an aircraft carrier because it launced a thousand flies.

      @SBENARD : Don’t get me wrong .. I think the picture is BS .. but it does prove one thing .. the angle of the gun PROVES without a doubt that he is a terrible shot. When you end up at that angle, odds are you missed the first time and the clay pidgeons are almost to the ground, you cycled another round in the chamber and are attempting to not look foolish in front of the cameras. Unfortunately for Obama .. it is impossible to not look foolish.

      Even in the original, apparently he’s shooting just as it exits the house or as it so far down range as to be at that level again, as most skeet fly *up*, arch, and then come back down as you’d expect. Also, if any sane man were to shoot a normally loaded shotgun with the **** of the stock climbing that high up OUT of the shoulder, he’d be incapacitated immediately and bruised for a week.

      I have no doubt that the photo is real, and staged, and that there was nothing in the shell except powder and a wadding.

      I shoot skeet by myself sometimes and when I shoot 2 clays from my old spring thrower my second shot looks like that. But that is not a ported barrel. Ported barrels are ported on both sides and the gas shoots back toward the rear of the gun,at about a 45 degree angle. I personally have never heard of a shotgun being ported. What kind of a wimp would port a shotgun?

      The angle of the gun appears consistent with Trap, not Skeet. Also, there is no way to prove when the photo was taken.

      In the end, it doesn’t matter, he and that shotgun look like total strangers to each other. I think the funniest part is that he’s proving with the picture that he’s a dyed in the wool lefty! His right is so atrophied that it looks like a T-Rex trying to wield a shotgun.

      The bugs bunny one was the best. He needed the Elmer Fudd hat though to make it perfect.

      Maybe he is just a bad shot. He is on an upward trajectory, so if the clay was thrown flat and far (as some are) his trajectory might not be way off, he could be lower than he needs to be, since he is not an experienced skeet shooter.

      This is to the group as a general comment, not to SBENARD specificly. Those of you out there that both shoot clays and photoshop, take a good look at the picture in detail. I don’t have the tools but what I was able to do was just zoom in on differnt areas like the muzzle. Looks like a typical front sight for fast target accuisition, also what looked like rows of holes back further than usual (to leave room for the choke??????), also the odd object in front of the top barrel end, looks like an early wad (behind powder???). Any way, lets take the intended challenge and look for details that discount it, delete the shot or whatever a scientific approch would show. After shooting cases of clays, I’m not concerned with the angle of the gun but not having a simular gun on hand, I would like to know trigger placement at the moment of firing, **** , muzzle movement, unexperienced vs experienced gun being fired as well as different loads including powder only. Could be fun, anybody up for a real look?

      The smoke dissipates so quickly that you usually don’t see it. Here’s some slow mo video in which you can.

      Was this an extremely lucky shot by the photog? Maybe. A video screen grab? More likely. If it’s video, I really want to see that. I expect it’s hilarious.

    The best photoshop I saw yesterday when I clicked on a blog by chance and have been trying to find it all morning and can’t remember the site. It was a photshop of 0 in a golfing pose with him holding the barrel of the rifle up pointing toward his groin area and the **** end at the ground. Can anyone find this one….it was the best!

      Just look up any skeet shooting photos (other than Obummer) and see if there are any that show such “smoke” coming out of the end of the barrel and one side. The best I could find was one that was snapped the split second the shell was ejected from a semi-auto. The gasses were just a wisp.
