Horror: 9th Grader Reportedly Kills Himself in High School Bathroom

Coweta Intermediate High School in Coweta, Oklahoma was put on lockdown this morning after police responded to an “officers needed” call around 8:30 a.m. local time.Β Local reports indicated that shots may have been fired.
At 2 p.m., police confirmed that a 15-year-old 9th grade male had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The body was reportedly discovered in the school restroom.
Superintendent Jeff Holmes was inundated by questions about bullying at the press conference, but reiterated that the school has a “zero tolerance” policy and is in complete compliance with state recommendations.Β He refused to speculate on the child’s motive.
Earlier that day, Coweta Police Lt. Donnie Krumsiek said officers responded immediately and “within seconds” of the call, there were three policemen at the school.
“Everything is under control,” he assured. “The schools did an outstanding job, immediately going into lockdown.”
Krumsiek added that multiple departments are working on the investigation, including the FBI.
Here is video of the first presser, via KJRH:
Coweta Public Schools sent out this message Monday morning, according to NewsOn6:
“This is Jeff Holmes, Superintendent of Coweta Schools. I regret to inform you that we have a tragic incident at our intermediate high school today.
All 9th grade students have been moved to the high school gymnasium where they will be able to checked out from the northwest lobby by a parent at this time. All other schools will remain in session throughout today.
All bus routes will run at the normal time at the end of the day for students including any 9th grade students who have not been checked out from the high school gymnasium. We will have press conferences soon to release more information.”
Class was cancelled for the remainder of the day, though other schools in the district were unaffected.
Holmes said he was “completely unprepared” to tackle issues of gun violence in schools at the most recent press conference.
“We have prepared and planned and trained for instances like this,” Krumsiek said simply.Β “Unfortunately a life was lost, but it could have been a lot worse.”
βThis is a breaking news story. Updates will be added.

How is it that these empty, insane, persons in authoritative positions think that bull$h!t makes any sense or any difference?
All hail the Central Authority. A child in despair committed suicide, but not to fret. The commands of the Central Authority were in place perfectly. All hail the Central Authority.

Once again, a case of something related to either mental illness or bullying and they blame the gun. Acting as though they just stopped another Sandy Hook. What BS.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 6:15pmZero tolerance means just exactly that ZERO. If the bullied kid tells, it makes it worse because the teachers can’t (or won’t) watch the little jerks all the time. If the bullied kid fights back, they get in just as much trouble as the bully. (Or more because the teachers don’t believe that the little “darling” would actually be doing the tormenting). It is a lose – lose situation for the poor kid and the bully just goes on their merry way to bully with no consequences. The victim has to go to school every day, day after day to face the same stuff with no end in sight. All I can say is HOME SCHOOL.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 2:17pmWhen I was young, we also had bullies. However, we didn’t get a trophy for just showing up. Are parents didn’t go yell at the teacher when we got an bad grade. We got yelled at for not doing better. We learned that life was sometimes hard. We learned that hard work is good. We learned not to let people push us around but we also learned to be polite. We weren’t given drugs when we were to lazy to pay attention. What we are seeing now is the result of pussified parenting and parenting by television. If we weren’t will to deal with the consequences we shouldn’t have caused the problem.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 6:06pmSensationally sad stories like this happen every single day, there is nothing to see, move along. It will just make you worry about meaningless legislation issues. It will scare you into thinking about gun rights erosion.
But sadly they will post these on the Blaze, Daily Caller and other right-thinking outlets until every single item our Advertisers are selling has been bought out of fear over future restrictions. As Jeff Foxworthy would say, “If you spend more than 3% of your pay a week on firearms, you might be a prep-per.”
If there were an I-phone app that made a “bang” noise for every gun death recorded in real time, people would get used to it. They could have a bell sound for flesh wounds.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 4:36pmI blame the media (Pravda-clones) for the constant attention that they’ve created to further the socilaist agenda of the current administration. We’re being bombarded and saturated with the daily exposure to guns, gun control, and the never ending stories of so called gun violence that promulgates the actions of mentally compromised individuals.
Just how long before these “on the edge wackos” gets the idea to use the gun, since it’s being imprinted in our heads 24-7, to make their last stand?
If all guns are gone, they’ll use the next availible item, whatever it may be.
As we’ve seen, the statistics are valid, but we’ll never see the truth from the media. How about they start with the Daily Chicago deaths by NON-REGISTERED HANDGUN report?
I dare them.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 4:30pmIncidents like this have happened for decades. When I was in the 9th grade, a 10th grade boy who sat next to me in World History killed himself. No one ever knew why, only that he was dead. Our yearbook was dedicated to him the year he would have graduated, and that was back in 1965 when he died. None of us know what goes on in the lives or minds of another, but I do know that for lots of teens this is a very trying age, and look how much more trying it gets each year.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 4:51pmYes but was a semi-automatic, military-grade, high capacity magazine, assault pistol used?? And was it loaded with rapid fire ammunition coated with armor piercing Teflon? By the child in your example?
Was the child in your example trained to kill by right wing Tea Party patriots, who gave him access to this military-grade pistol, and the military-grade ammunition??
Everyone knows that pistols are dangerous, and are no good for hunting. The second ammendment was made for hunters, and hunters don’t need rapid fire, semi-automatic, military-grade, high capacity magazine pistols to hunt rabbits!!
Hunters should use Musket’s just like our forefathers if they need to exercise their brutish desire to kill helpless animals. Even better they should use spears and flint knives, at least then it would be sporting.
/Sarcasm off.
Whew! does that encapsulate the Left’s arguments or am I forgetting somthing?

It’s not rocket science here.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 3:54pmThis is a tragic event for the parents of this child. What could drive a 15 year old to such desperation is beyond imagination. A very thorough investigation of the incident and its causes is in order.
Liberal thought, driven home to students from the first grade on, teaching there is no GOD, that we are nothing more than chunks of flesh thrown together by evolution and that life has no meaning surely is a contributing factor. The idea that we arrived, “From GOO to YOU by way of the ZOO” demeans humanity and removes the moral incentives to suicide. The value system has become contorted by socialist thinking. We are fast becoming Europe.

Most ended up as druggies or just dead. Tragedy is a kid killing himself at school, all we can do is pray for the family and try to not to be in that place by teaching our kids how to cope with life. We played Baseball with Coweta in school and this hit home.

Get used to it and don’t play in to their hand. Oby KNOWS he’s got us worn down after four years of torture, and now it’s time to “turn up the heat”. Just understand that police and media have “chosen” out of the many murders every day, what to print and what to hold back in order to not alarm the public. NOW they are choosing to run EVERY story in order to make it LOOK LIKE there is this HUUUGE rise in violence. Understand this, and don’t think for a second that what they are doing is real. At the same time deaths by suicide with guns went up 13%, so you have to Google it and read for yourself because anti- gunners will have you to believe that total deaths went up 19%. If you take away the guns the folks will take another route to suicide. I would rather they just take their own lives instead of get behind the wheel of a car and takt out a whole family.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 4:15pmI really think we need to drop the mantra that video games and movies cause kids to pick up a gun and shoot themselves. Good parenting will win out over any violence that has to do with children 99% of the time. Of course that figure is purely speculative on my part since there are no statistics on good parenting, only what the effects of everything else has on kids.
What can government do for our kids, what does the school system do for my kid, how is everyone else going to keep my kids safe. Why can’t I get more EBT for my kids? You can get all the EBT you want, just have more kids. How dare Hollywood make violent movies, don’t they realize the affects it’s having on my kids?
I have yet to hear someone say: I need to raise my kids better and do a better job at being a dad. I should pay more attention to the things my kids talk about, they’re important to them. You know the drill.
