John McCain Called ‘Racist’ After Cracking Ahmadinejad ‘Monkey’ Joke: ‘This Is What Passes for a Serious GOP U.S. Senator These Days’

John McCain Called Racist After Joking About Ahmadinejad Being Like the Monkey Iran Sent Into Space

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) is under fire on Twitter for being one of many to mock Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s claim that he wants to be the first Iranian to reach outer space.

The news follows Iran’s declaration that they successfully launched a monkey into orbit.  There’s still some confusion as to whether they actually did it, but the Iranians are sticking to their story despite expert testimony that two different monkeys are seen in the “before” and “after” photos).

Regardless, John McCain joked:

The backlash was swift, with at least one other member of Congress joining in the criticism of McCain’s tweet (content warning):

When McCain later added, “Re: Iran space tweet – lighten up folks, can’t everyone take a joke?” Representative Justin Amash (R-MI) didn’t seem able to let it go.

Amash is reportedly of Palestinian descent.

Regardless of one may think of John McCain, what he said was funny. But it just goes to prove, in the world of political correctness, there is no humor.

THINK! This is not about ‘racist’ or ‘non-racist’ or whether you like McCain or hate him. THIS IS about the start of the full out war to disband the GOP as OUTLINED BY OBAMA!

You are going to see full destruction of Republican Officials along with their families within the next few months. And the onslaught is going to be so laser directed for the reason that when one Republican fights and looses – three will simply say it’s not worth loosing their family over, and resign. WATCH. It’s going to happen!

Do NOT take any White House story at face value. There IS agenda behind each action the Oby Admin. takes. They are RELYING on you to be “sheep” and barely read any story let alone “think” about it’s content!

Jonnie me buy why would you ever compare that piece of crap to a monkey? You owe all monkeys an apology for the put down you delivered to the entire monkey world. Im-a-ding-e-jad is more the object you might need a plunger to remove.

The racist label is thrown around way too much these days. It has become the standard Democrat retort to any political disagreement.

Anyone who calls this RINO POS a serious Republican senator is an idiot. This guy is one of the poorest excuses for a senator that we have. The guy is a PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRAT. He should be thrown from the party!

I agree American_Made. McCain and Obama do not differ when it comes to ideology. One is a progressive clothed as a Republican on a cuise down the road toward Socialism. The other is a Marxist deceptively disguised as a liberal Democrat racing down the freeway with the pedal to metal attempting to reach Socialist/Marxist finish line by 2016. However … McCain’s comment did cause me to chuckle.

Yes, by all means, excoriate McCain over a comment referencing AN ACTUAL MONKEY Iran has been parading about, and the ridiculous behavior of their president.

    that must be racial.

but ignore the PEDOPHILIA of Menendez… of if they were ‘of age’ ignore the abuse of young women Menedez spent 15% of his annual salary to go visit…

Gloria wants Texans to ‘diselect’ Perry but won’t stand up and say anything against Menendez? Who’s the biased bigot, now? Who won’t even stand for her stated principles when the choice is obvious?

PC is ridiculous in the first place… substitute these words meaning the same thing for this word we consider racist. But the way it’s wielded as a weapon, against only those the establishment opposes vs. every person equally… it’s a hypocritical excuse to avoid discussing real issues.

When are you going to wise up, McRINO? You spend every day appeasing your politcal enemies in lefty liberal land, and yet act surprised when they look for anything, anything at all, to slam you.

For the record: Calling Ahmedinijad a monkey is an insult to monkeys.

looking for a complete dunce in the Senate, look at Feinstein. She knows nothing about the guns she wants to get rid of and still calls the AR-15 an assault weapon, doubt if she knows which end the bullets go out of. Even Boxer has shown her up in the gun thing calling for armed Guards in the schools. I just see Feinstein now setting on Obummers lap asking daddy what do you want me to do now ,,,,daddy?

Although, McCain may want to apologize to the primate community.
