Pastor Calls Citizens to Defend Gun Rights With ‘Violent Aggressive Opposition’ & ‘Bloodshed’ (if Needed)

Terry Jones, the pastor known for fiery anti-Islam rhetoric and for his very-public Koran-burning, released a shocking statement this morning through his organization, Stand Up America. Entitled, “Banning Guns: Resistance to the Point of Bloodshed,” the three-paragraph press release calls for the nation to potentially meet Second Amendment crackdowns with “fierce opposition.” Additionally, Jones implores the public to combat “disarming” to the point of bloodshed, if needed.

“The disarming of Americans cannot be tolerated by the American people to the point of resistance even to the shedding of blood,” the statement reads. “History has taught us whether it be the Russian revolution or whether it be the Nazi era, that as a government disarms its own people, leaving the people with no opportunity and no possibility to defend itself, leads to the destruction of our civilization.”

Terry Jones Encourages Americans to Defend Second Amendment With Bloodshed if Needed

Jones goes on to say that the public has two enemies — criminals and the government. The faith leader then calls for the latter institution to be tied down “with the chains of the Constitution” so that it “does not become a legalized version of the first.” While the aforementioned statements will certainly raise eyebrows, it is the concluding statements that are, perhaps, most controversial.

“Every generation needs a revolution. We must resist the disarming of the American people, if necessary, with violent aggressive opposition,” Jones proclaims. “The tree of liberty must be, from time to time, refreshed with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

TheBlaze reached out to Stand Up America to speak further about intentions behind the press release. A representative declined to comment in detail, however we are awaiting a response from Jones.

These comments come on the heels of an event the pastor held last month called “Burn Obama Day,” during which he decried “universal deceit” and subsequently burned an effigy of the president. Watch it all unfold, below:

@BLACKCROW..I’m with you..the human part of me was thinking ..Wow..what a bunch of P SS IES..You people do know that you are not going to get raptured out of Tribulations..right? Read Matt 24 and 2 Thess 2 I was thinking that you will just bend over and spread em..and take it like the good little Christians that you are..We are not supposed to resist Satan..right? Then I think about what the Bible says about love your enemies and do good to those who persecute you..so I guess we are supposed to spread em and bend over…it goes against every human grain of dignity that I have and I can’t help but despise all of you wimpy ignorant people..

I was thinkin the same thing about Matthew 24. this is barely the beginning, and the majority of Christians believe they won’t experience the first hardship, and just ride off on the clouds after the first earthquake…. there will be much pain and suffering for believers and non-believers alike, before we are taken up with Christ in all His Glory…. some people need to brush up on their theology…
I for one, will fight the spiritual and physical wars until Christ calls me, or death takes me.

I realize many Christians view this guy as a prophet and one who speaks the word of God. And I can understand the appeal he has to many of you. He virulently anti-Muslim and anti-Obama. And a real Christian unafraid to speak allowed his Christian values.

But as far as this “disarming” business goes, he is suffering from the same delusion that many of you are. There is no legislation put forth to “disarm” people; i.e. “take your guns away.” As people like to say here, that’s a straw man.

You are free to worship this guy and cheer on the good work he does under the banner of Christianity. You will continue I’m sure to pray that his good works continue and hope he continues to burn President Obama in effigy and so forth. But please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the gun control debate, rather than simply talk fall back to Hitler analogies, Koran burning etc.

If you’re so naive as to expect that this community organizer and his Orwellian propagandist minions don’t have eventual disarmament in mind, then you’re too naive to speak on the subject let alone give people advice on what they should do.

But, of course, your purpose is not to give advice. It’s pretty obvious you think you’re doing your part in fooling gun advocates that there’s no cause for alarm.

Grow up. The psychology you employ is strictly on the high school level.

Incidentally, don’t you think it is odd for somebody like you to defend Muslims who believe in stoning to death or hanging homosexuals? They amount to millions in this country now, and as they get more numerous they will make their views known here very likely by setting a few examples.

That’s not good news for your group. Not quite a rainbow utopia, is it?

Independent4233, yes, I’ve heard a lot about these right wing conspiracy “secret plans” for the last four years. The ones to “take away your guns,” declare martial law, put conservatives in FEMA concentration camps, to prevent the 2012 election and make President Obama king, hyperinflation, revolution, black helicopters, UN takeover of the US, and that Democrats want to create a dictatorship and enslave the population.

You really don’t need a high school psychology class to see those ideas for what they are. You just need to be rational.

      @Independent

I implore you to no longer attempt to speak to or with the ones who want a ‘debate’ or ‘conversation’. Their entire mission is to muddle the issue, lie, mislead, and generally try to make your rights into a negotiable quantity. I strongly suggest (take it up as you wish, or not) a simple “You are wrong, there is no debate, we will have no conversation, and we will oppose you and everybody like you. Good day” and then never speaking to them again.

Just my thoughts on the matter. These people have no acquaintance with the truth and don’t care what lies or distortions or spin they have to use in order to convince you to give up your rights, or to confuse you enough to throw you off the scent of defending your rights. They are either evil, or tools of evil, conversation is not warranted with them.

      Just a suggestion.

That’s the one you should really concentrate on, because it represents the greatest threat to the homosexual agenda.

Of course that’s their intent. They call it “fighting the good fight,” and they think they’re a roaring success at it, but they’re blind to their own ineptitudes. Most of them are homosexual activists, also.

They live in a reality all of their own making and they have some idea based in unmitigated arrogance that they possess the ability to change people’s thoughts.

But by responding substantively to them it has the advantage of putting forth damaging information about the ill effects of liberalism in general and the spread of diseases and other pathologies rife within the homosexual communities, over and over again.

“I strongly suggest a simple “You are wrong, there is no debate, we will have no conversation….”

No, I don’t agree. If everybody would just ignore them so would I, but they always draw comments, because they’re easy to refute. I usually don’t read what they have to say unless I accidently do so not realizing who the poster is.

Too, I’m sorry, but I have to admit I really enjoy slamming them if I have the time, and a lot of the information I bring up isn’t known by a few conservatives, so it gives them more ammunition to use later on.

If you’ve ever wondered why Muslims are so effective in keeping leftest mouths closed and are treated with deference it is their willingness to commit violence in support of their beliefs.

No leftist geek on the planet has the courage to criticize Muslims even when they preach open rebellion in their mosques in Western countries. And the reason they don’t is because they know critcizing these people will bring a violent reaction from them and the left is afraid of ANYBODY that means business.

Just look at the homosexuals who come on here viciously denigrating Christians with the vilest of rhetoric, because they don’t believe in mainstreaming perversions.

Muslims are even more rabidly agains homosexuals and hang them or stone them to death, yet not one peep from the homosexuals against them. They’re afraid of them, because they’re prepared to commit violence in support of their beliefs. The others on the left display the same kind of cowardice.

And who gets treated with more respect nowadays in the ongoing racial battles? Blacks of course, because the left knows they’ll riot and burn down neighborhoods if they are treated with special privileges.

And who is disdained, spat upon, ridiculed and hated by the left? Peace-loving Christians of course who are too timid to rise up in anger over the abuse they receive. They are regarded as safe Whipping boys by the left.

This pastor knows that. That’s why he’s going extreme.

Encemen despises racist people, hey I’m not racist but I would rather be around those of my likeness; that being said, since when is being racist a crime. He equates it with terrorism, which is a crime. You cannot legislate against racism, nor discrimination. The government is the only ones not allowed to discriminate. You are free to love others, but you aren’t free to hate? If you cannot hate others or be a discriminate person–then you are not a free person! If a black carpenter I search out to remodel my home really hates white people, should he be allowed to tell me simply that he just doesn’t have time to do the job or really extremely overbid the job because he simply doesn’t like me? How could you possibly legislate something like that, which would force him to do the job (say at market prices, and not what he wanted to charge me cause I’m white), and is, therefore, forcing to do something against his will. That is immoral, and such laws would be immoral–giving the government the power to “read minds” basically, because they would thus be able to force someone to do something against their will and having the ability to tell an individual “we know why you didn’t want to serve him/her/ or them!” That is a dangerous proposition, is it not? Look I think it would be stupid for somebody to throw away an economic opportunity of making money based on something as stupid as skin color–but more importantly, we cannot allow the government to control us this way

Oh I’m sorry, that wasn’t PC of me was it now. But I’ve never been too PC either. I was once at a party with a bunch of PC libs where some women were talking about abortion and “women’s rights.” I buuted in to tell them about a girl I went to college with who was froma wealthy family. She got pregnant (close to graduation, but would have affected grad schooling) and told them that she had an abotion because it would have severely affected her continuing her education and that she would then have been personally responsible for payinf for education. The girls I was speaking to felt such empathy for the poor (rich) girl in college who would have had to continue in school paying for this “parasitic” child too. That was until I told her that, “yeah, but we all knew exactly why she went ahead with the abortion, it was because her father would have cut off paying for her education and she would have had to pay for it all herself–because we all knew who she got pregnant by, and she was embarrased, and would have probably been disowned by her father, yep, she got pregnant by a black guy and was ashamed to have a child that was black.” You should have seen their demeanor change so rapidly, and boy did they quit talking about abortion after I told them this true story. You see it’s okay to abort for economic reasons which them libs love, but if you are a white girl aborting a black child, now that’s a big big no-no.

It’s lost when we start getting this violent this early without any reason to be violent yet. As a pastor, this man should know what love and grace is, and he should be ashamed of himself. Horseman, first, just because he compared this man to the Black Panthers does not mean he is claiming this man wants to kill white people. It is the mentality and the methodology that is being compared. This may not be hate towards a race, but it is hate. It is the insight of violence, things the Black Panthers promote. Two, there was no hate in Capitalismrocks’ post at all. He was comparing this man to another group (not to mention a healthy comparison), how is that hatred? Three, who says we want respect from the left? I don’t care what they think of me, however, I will not allow myself to become consumed by hate, violence and intolerance, the very things they are guilty of.

“Horseman, first, just because he compared this man to the Black Panthers does not mean he is claiming this man wants to kill white people. It is the mentality and the methodology that is being compared.”

I know, that’s what I was referring to. That’s why I said he’s “equating” Jones with the BP’s who use that kind of rhetoric. It’s an erroneous comparison. Nothing Jones said is even remotely on the scale of what the BP’s say and do. Nothing.

“This may not be hate towards a race, but it is hate.”

It is NOT hate. It is a call to arms and a warning about the community organizer in terms that is designed to get people’s attention. But even if it were hate, there’s nothing wrong with hating people who hate you. In fact only a fool would refrain from lashing out.

“….. however, I will not allow myself to become consumed by hate, violence and intolerance, the very things they are guilty of.”

People who respond to a call to arms are not consumed by hate. They are consumed with injustice and anger at being bullied, marginalized, insulted, demonized and are finally fed up. 1776 comes to mind, as well as no less than a 100 other events where people are moved to action because it was time for them to act.

People who don’t stand for anything will stand for anything.

It is the passionate who have moved the human race from totalitarianism to democracy.

The intent of the 2nd Amendment is to assure the individual citizens right to maintain sufficient armament to guarantee the advantage of liberty and validate separation from any government action that would impose infringement against the liberties of the individual citizen. The individual citizen is the sole possessor of this right and has immunity from any government attempt to restrict, or invalidate.

This sort of rhetoric is the very last thing conservatives need. Almost all of us realize that legal opposition is the way to begin. Only in the extreme should violent opposition be considered. But liberals will hold this guy up as being representative of all conservatives and convince the uninformed that conservatives are a clear and present danger. I have no intention of giving up but I don’t want be another Ruby Ridge or Waco. An incident like these under Napolitano or Holder would be far worse.

“But liberals will hold this guy up as being representative of all conservatives and convince the uninformed that conservatives are a clear and present danger.”

Liberals will do that anyway. Don’t they demonize you right now for believing in traditional American values and Christianity?

There’s nothing Conservatives can do that won’tbe criticized, and I can’t see why anyone would worry about being depicted in an unfavorable light by the leftist radicals, because someone who is a Christian spews fiery rhetoric. They would do the same if he promoted nothing but love and tolerance.

It is inflammatory rhetoric that has strengthened liberals these last few years, and they use it constantly.

The difference here is that the left usually always lies. This guy doesn’t.

This man is putting his standing in jeopardy by openly calling for revolution, but it’s the only kind of rhetoric the left really respects, and, like it or not, it’s the only kind that is effective.

Christians today face ungodly persecution, ridicule, hatred, and alienation by the left and the reason they do is because they have a reputation of being too namby pamby to fight back physically or as viciously verbally as the left.

This. This mentality is what will be the death of Conservatism. We are the only group standing for American values. American values (which do hold strong Christian belief) are exactly opposite of what you are suggesting here. We should stoop to the level of bigotry in order to win? No. That will solve nothing. I am as passionate as you people are, but you cannot allow emotion to cloud your ability to seek justice and liberty. How much better from a left-wing crazy are you? How much better a Christian are you, when you would defy the very things it demands of you? Can we not fight with dignity anymore? Are we just going to give up and say, “Aw, hell let’s just kill them all”? Mark my words, give in to this hatred, and the progressives win. This kind of rhetoric only adds gasoline to the fire.

Who is a saying that? Are you reading the same posts I am?

“Mark my words, give in to this hatred, and the progressives win. This kind of rhetoric only adds gasoline to the fire.”

Response to injustice and the imposition of mandates are not hate, they are necessary. And if this kind of rhetoric only adds gas to the fire so be it. It is a situation not of our making, and acting like shrinking violets will only make the situation worse.

Your attitude has been typical throughout history by people who want to feel morally superior yet win the fight too. Whether it was Chamberlain before WWII who thought “Peace in our time,” was more important than standing for principle and values or the majority of radical leftists comprising the colonies in 1775 who wanted no part of opposing the tyranny they were living under, those thinking that taking the high road…and safest route…. was most important were wrong and they’ve not only been wrong in the past they have always been obstacles to victory time and again.

There’s no nice way to win a war.

And opposing and fighting injustice and tyranny can’t be accomplished by trying to stay above the fray, and there is no greater dignity than responding to a call to arms when a nation or a people are in danger of being subjugated by tyrannical forces.

Because Muslims are a minority and are allowed to do what they want. Obama can’t control people in other countries or apply the law to minorities, he is only willing to take the rights of those he seeas as his subjects while luring those who aren’t into his sphere of power.

I don’t agree with Jones entirely, but he is just doing what nobody else was willing to; be the first. Misguided perhaps, but very brave.
