Voter Fraud Group Sues Over Allen West Recount

WASHINGTON, DC – FEBRUARY 08: U.S. Rep. Allen West (R-FL) speaks during a Tea Party Town Hall meeting February 8, 2011 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. True the Vote, a watchdog group dedicated to protecting against voter fraud, on Monday filed suit against the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections in Florida, demanding the release of “all records pertaining to the recent 18th Congressional District election and subsequent recounts between Rep. Allen West and Patrick Murphy be reviewed in order to perform a comprehensive third-party audit.”
Here’s True the Vote president Catherine Engelbrecht explaining what the group hopes to accomplish from the lawsuit:
As Engelbrecht notes in the video, the group does not expect to overturn Rep. Murphy’s narrow victory over Allen West. Rather, True the Vote wants the election board’s recount process to be made public so that similar debacles can be avoided in the future.
“This dramatic recount was an extraordinary example of how our elections can suffer systematic failure,” said Engelbrecht.
“We run the risk seeing episodes like this becoming ordinary if citizens do not demand answers and hold election officials accountable. The American people own the voting system — we have the right to ask tough questions when we witness the failure of one of America’s core functions,” she adds.
She concludes by noting that the “clock is ticking” for the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections to present True the Vote with a detailed audit of the election, because “each passing day heightens the risk of critical documents being disposed of.”
Here’s True the Vote’s point-by-point account of the messy West/Murphy recount:
- On November 6, St. Lucie County election administrators admitted that ballot tabulation machines suffered a malfunction, preventing early vote totals from being properly counted. County workers were forced to hand-feed ballots into tabulation machines as a result.
- On November 8, West demanded a full recount of early votes and copies of poll sign-in records to compare voter participation against ballots cast. West’s requests were denied and ignored, respectively.
- On November 9, West demanded that a Florida state court impound all ballots and voting machines, but made no claims of the sort True the Vote makes today in federal court. West’s requests in state court were denied.
- On November 10, St. Lucie County “unofficially certified” the vote count for CD-18 and publicly acknowledged “uncertainty” over the early vote totals. St. Lucie County called an emergency meeting to “recount all ballots cast during early voting.” The county later reversed itself, only performing a partial retabulation. After the partial retabulation, the lead for Patrick Murphy decreased.
- On November 13, Defendant Gertrude Walker held a press conference admitting that her staff acted with “haste” and that “mistakes were made” throughout the tabulation and partial recount process. Florida Division of Elections auditors were dispatched to investigate how 799 votes disappeared or changed hands during the partial recount.
- On November 16, Defendant Walker claimed to find 306 early votes in a box at her office that had not been counted. The St. Lucie County Canvassing Board ordered a recount of all early votes, with a deadline set for noon on November 18.
- On November 17, the full recount operation was relocated to a privately-owned property. County workers were evicted from the premises late at night, suspending the recount until the next morning.
- On November 18, County workers failed to meet the deadline, instead certifying the original November 10 tabulation, which officials claimed “uncertainty” over the accuracy of the results.
And here’s the full lawsuit:

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 5:18pmThank you “True the Vote” for your efforts!!
What motivated Allen West to suddenly concede to Patrick Murphy … concede without following through … concede without exposing aspects of widespread election fraud not confined to Lucie County? Without a reasonable explanation forthcoming many who unwaveringly supported the candidate who appeared to be the real thing were left with the feeling of betrayal … were left with the assumption that something hinky may have taken place behind the scenes … something hinky that also motivated Mitt Romney and defeated Rupublicans in other district not to challenge the suspicious voting outcomes that allowed Barack Obama to emerge the victor.

True the Vote Sues St. Lucie County, FL Over ‘Botched’ Allen West Contest
3 Feb 2013
… Two hours after the deadline, St. Lucie County election officials approached the West and Murray campaigns, asking them to share their independent retabulation figures for comparison purposes. Both campaigns declined. As the two candidates and St. Lucie County could not render a vote total, election administrators certified the flawed count from November 10–the same count that Gertrude Walker publicly doubted. …

Allen West Concedes Defeat Despite Options Still Available
Wednesday, 21 November 2012
The Allen West for Congress campaign issued a press release on Nov 20 conceding defeat ….
A post-election audit in this contest could have national implications if it uncovers significant illegal voting by ineligible voters, whether that be because they are non-citizens, non-existent people, or people registered multiple times. It would likely lead to similar post-election audits across the nation. Conversely, if there was only minimal illegal voting in this contest, the public has a right to verify that as well.
Allen West’s decision to concede the election without a post-election audit to check for potential illegal voting may be one of the top 10 political blunders of 2012. The people who dug deep into their pockets to donate the $17 million to his campaign deserve better.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 6:40pmMaybe the $1.5 Million of remaining donated Allen West campaign funds should have been transferred to “True the Vote” to be applied to the investigative efforts into election wrongdoings in Lucie County. Something is wrong with this picture.
Ex-Rep. West uses campaign funds for self-named foundation
Thursday, January 24, 2013
Allen West, the outspoken former Republican lawmaker, was always a prodigious fundraiser, drawing money from far outside his Florida district. He had $1.5 million in the bank even after mounting an unsuccessful recount challenge to his November 2102 loss at the polls.
Now, he’s transferred a half-million dollars in donated campaign funds to two charity groups: the Allen West Foundation and another entity sharing the new foundation’s post office box address.

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 7:49pmHere’s my idea (for the public domain):
1. Show a picture ID with your physical address on it.
2. You get a piece of paper with a tracking number on it.
3. Votes are counted and verified, elections results are not made public. No more than 10% of the military vote can missing without a waiver by the Secretary of Defense, who must justify his waiver with physical evidence why votes can not be counted.
4. All election results are entered into a database, then encrypted, then published to a DVD, which is then distributed to all movie video outlets, and all public libraries. The DVD is not valid unless you can use the tracking number that was given to you, and look up your vote by entering a password and your tracking number.
5.) 2 weeks after release of the DVD, the media is then allowed to report on the results, since millions of votes will be in the hands of third parties that can either validate the results or demand a recount for suspected voter fraud.
That’s a leap ahead of what you have now? This does NOT solve the problem regarding voting yourselves monies out the treasury, however even that is not going to be a danger because of the rate of mechanical automation (robots) will allow you to live off the machinery, and yes, we probably will have a government check for doing nothing, perhaps, in the coming decades of growing automation?
That’s assuming you don’t destroy each other with war or the EPA first?

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 12:09amHow about self-verifying ballots that ensure that voters are not drunk or otherwise intellectually impaired?
3 questions from the following categories: an analogy (e.g., gun is to rifle as bow is to _____), civics (e.g. “the term of elected office for a U.S. Senator is ____ years); reading comprehension, simple math problem (in “spoken” format, e.g.: What percent of 70 is 7?). If you get 2 out of the 3 correct, then your vote is counted.

If you think someone is mentally incapacitated, or even mentally disabled, too bad they still get to vote if they choose. If the test was on The Constitution, you couldn’t vote, as you obviously think the law says you have to know the length of a Senator’s term to be eligible to vote. Even those THAT ignorant of Constitutional law are eligible to vote. Good thing for you, Chuck.

Now they own the education system so they can indoctrinate your children. Why do you think they build ghettos??? They give the blacks just enough (food stamps, welfare) to vote democrate and to survive life(barely) but not enough to make it and become something. They build Ghettos and load them up with all the takers….that way they can win whole states by stuffing as much takers in their ghettos as possible. Just look at the Ohio map durring the last election..the whole state was pretty much all red except Clevland was Blue…which was enough to give obama the win. Dont be suprised when a neighborhood near you starts filling up with lefties…they have learned that if they spread out and spread their spew and ghettos they can will all of the red states.

He doesn’t fit their narrative, if you haven’t noticed, since the new congress stepped in last month. Anyone notice a huge shift in the GOP stances lately? This election, across the entire country, was not ‘stolen’ by the dems or libs, it was was carefully crafted and executed by the freaking establishment ‘right and left’.
We have been played. It affects all of our lives, not just some corrupt freaks in DC doing what they want and just wasting money.
FOX did a huge shift after 2010 election. Notice? Wonder why? We the people, scared the pee out of them. Spelled danger for the game plan that ‘both’ parties have in store for us.
I’m just wondering why the Blaze is reporting on this…they, like everyone else in the media (including Beck and Co.), have treated this entire subject and the people that have raised commonsense and logical questions as though they have jumped the crazy train. Even when the numbers and reports of physical fraud from across the country supports the idea that massive fraud was perpetrated.
I’m getting real tired of arguing that 2+2 does not equal 5.
