Alabama Coach Suspended for 10 Days After This Rant Against Gays and Michelle Obama’s Butt

Football coach Bob Grisham suspended for Michelle Obama butt rant

WASHINGTON, DC – JANUARY 21: U.S. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama dance during the Public Inaugural Ball at the Walter E. A high school coach and teacher in Alabama has been suspended for 10 days and barred from teaching his psychology class for the rest of the year after he went off on an anti-gay and anti-Michelle Obama rant during class. The audio of the rant made it to the local paper and quickly took off from there.

“…[T]hose lunches – you get 600-calorie lunches – you know who’s behind that?” head football coach Bob Grisham of Lauderdale County High School was caught saying during a class last week. “Fat butt Michelle Obama.”

He continued: “And look … look at her. She looks like she weighs 185 or 190. She’s overweight.”

But the rant didn’t end there. The local paper the Times Daily has the rest, which included comments about “queers” [emphasis added]:

You’d better be aware of it. And people running around like, oh it’ll get better, it’ll get better. No, it ain’t gone get no better until things change. I can give you example after example of that, but I don’t want to use any local names to give you examples. Things won’t get better until there’s a change in some areas and stuff. And you know what his platform was? Change. We’re gone change. We’re all … aw it’s OK …. for … and … y’all can get pissed off at me or not. You can go tell the principal, you can call the superintendent and tell her. I don’t believe in queers, I don’t like queers. I don’t … I don’t hate them as a person but what they do is wrong, it’s an abomination against God. I don’t like being around queers.

The local school board met in special session on Monday and decided on the punishment, which also includes sensitivity training.

Grisham has defended himself saying he was in a debate situation and misspoke.

Since the comments, Grisham has become the target of criticism.

“We have a history in this country of white people not showing adequate respect for and devaluing the bodies of black women, and this most definitely falls in line with that,” says Ayana Byrd, the co-editor of the book “Naked: Black Women Bare All About Their Skin, Hair, Hips, Lips and Other Parts, told the Washington Post.

You can listen to audio of the rant below:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

I don’t want some anti-American leftist teacher indoctrinating my grandchildren so in all fairness, I have to say teachers should keep their politics out of the classroom.

I’m sure some will not agree with me but need to apply the same standards to both sides. Don’t give the left any ammunition.

everybody knows about her humongous, gigantic, pneumatic rear end. why wasn’t the coach more taken aback by her new freakish, frankenstein forehead? she shouldn’t be allowed near any children with that thing. imagine the horror. children could panic, be trampled, and after all, if it saves the life of just one child, isn’t it worth it? ban the bangs, and save the children!

I agree QPWILLIE. I do not want my children indoctrinated by the left so I cannot have a double standard. There is nothing wrong with having a debate and discussion in class but calling people queers and referring to the first lady like that just isn’t appropriate. Trust me, I think homosexuality is an abomination and I dislike our president and first lady but it should be left out of the classroom. I know where this happened and it is a very conservative area. I do not believe that if it was reversed it would have been ignored or promoted. Can’t we just educated our children in school without forcing an agenda on them?

      Here’s what I don’t understand:
I’m seeing a lot of comments saying that–even though they agree homosexuality is an abomination and they don’t like the fat broad in the white house– the classroom isn’t the place for this kind of discussion. Don’t you see?!?! The left HAS been discussing this in the classroom for an entire generation !! They have been telling YOUR kids what THEY should think about these issues (and telling them that your way of thinking is wrong). But now that conservatives are speaking out, WE are told to shut up–dis ain’t da place fo dat discussion.
BULL !! That’s where YOU started the discussion in the first place !!! It didn’t start in church !! It didn’t start at the super market !! It started in your indoctrination centers, and we’re takin’ it to you !!

Well – he did speak the truth – Moochelle does have a big ****!

I’m sure the majority hasn’t noticed that since Obummer came into office in 2009 – the “far, far left” has become emboldened and now demonizes anyone that has a “different” opinion then they do!! By requiring this teacher to take “sensitivity” classes – indicates the contempt that they hold for this teacher, the general population and your kids who aren’t indoctrinated!

We are either racist, hateful, stupid or simple minded christian mongers because we are able to think outside of the “box” and form a logical conclusion that – these people are simply speaking about themselves in the end.

Stupid is as stupid does – I personally don’t intend to follow the herd…

The Educational Department needs to be disbanded as they have failed our children – and – parents need to start standing up – for their kids!

I’m not saying it cannot be discussed. I’m saying it should be discussed in a more appropriate way. Just because I believe homosexuality is wrong, and I will teach my children that, doesn’t mean I want them calling people “queers”. And we can discuss what Mrs. Obama is pushing and whether she is a hypocrite or not without resulting to attacking the way she looks. It is childish and you will lose the argument if you act and talk like a childish lunatic. We need to demonstrate to our children the proper way to put forth their ideas and thoughts without being disrespectful.

Isn’t the following, from the article, also a “racist” remark against white people?

I even saw a video with a 6 year old “rapping” and two grown black women shaking their junk right beside him…what message does that send to this child, and why would the parents allow this?

Noone is taking away your first amendment but you all need to understand that your employer can limit your speech and it happens all the time.

BTW, why dont you gusy like big butts? The rest of the country seems to enjoy them. Look at Beyonce , Kim Kardashian and Michelle Obama , all 3 have big rears and most men love it. Only the men without the proper equipment to handle something that size seem to have issue wiit it. Insulting the first lady is disrespectful, but would not warrant a suspension in my view.

Preaching his religious views during class, especially when it could very well intimidate or ostracize gay students, was completely out of line. I fully agree with his suspension, even if I agree with the knowledge that homosexuality is a sin. His religious stance should never have come up in a classroom setting; and judging by the fact that his students recorded him saying these things, I’m guessing this was not a one-time occurrence.

You guys don’t understand women’s bodies! Women don’t get “big butts” because they are fat – they get big butts because it is *genetic.* Some of us women are pear-shaped. Some of us are inverted triangles. Only a very small percentage of women are the classic “hourglass.”

There’s a reason why black women tend to have bigger butts – it’s just genes being passed down. Asian women in general have smaller butts and some white women have no butts at all – though women of all races can be of varying shapes. Nothing to do with being fat whatsoever. I have a smaller upper body and a black woman’s behind – I am at the right weight for my height. I am not fat. It’s just a genetic quirk I got from my mom, that’s all. Some men love it, and others not so much.

There’s no reason to insult Michelle Obama for her genes just because her husband is a jerk.

You ere right to take me up on my very generous offer for a second chance. Unfortunately you fell woefully short in your scramble – in two ways.

      1. You wrote “are you even remotely trying to say that the government has the authority to completely squelch one’s right of freedom of expression?”

Nope, and neither were you. Because the first time you said, “The government does not have the ability to limit your speech”

      Materially different statements.

      2. In fact, you CAN yell “fire!” in a crowded theater if the theater is on fire.

These are really pretty simple and basic points. And frankly I’m disappointed that you so quickly resorted to such a lame rhetorical attempt to deflect responsibility for your statements.

The 1st Amendment has been under a steady assault for decades if not a century or more. In my lifetime starting with Madalyn Murray O’****, assisted by a stacked Supreme Court. Yes, this did also effect speech and expression when one steps onto government property. The term “hate speech” has been a very effective weapon that the left uses to bash anybody openly as in this incident to quiet them. But, let a Hip Hop Artist regardless of color have his/her lyrics complained about, then and only then does the left say that the 1st Amendment protects speech that is offensive to some. Just more of that continuing double, triple, and quadruple standards set by the left. They no longer simply move the goal posts, they have them mounted on wheels.

Good point. The white teacher cannot have an opinion. He’s lucky to still have a job. Many of my daughter’s black teachers spew much worse. Guess we need to record it and try to find a newspaper that cares. I too am offended that mooshelle can tell her subjects what to eat, yet she can obviously eat whatever she wants. She would never eat what they are now serving at school.

When the American people are under constant attack by the administration they have to expect people to be on edge. I know most people are afraid every day of this overreaching gov’t. They are trying to tell us what to say, what to eat, how to defend ourselves, how to heat our homes, what we should learn in school, what we should think about collectivism, how much we owe the gov’t and now they are wanting to have federal police patrol our streets (remember brown shirts?). If they would show even an understanding of freedom maybe people wouldn’t feel so threatened.

Gays are the ones that are backwards.

They claim that pedophiles are not homosexuals. They say it is the lack of secondary sex characteristics that attracts certain men to boys (the hairlessness).

Then how do you explain the Boyscout Master that violated Heath Stocks & other boys scouts before they reached puberty and after they reached puberty.

The gay explanation exculpating themselves is more pseudo-intellectual pap.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heath_Stocks

The Heath Stocks story was featured on the series REDRUM. As I watched it I though back to all the Catholic church pedophile scandals & the gays going after the Catholic Church. Well it doesn’t add up. The gay’s explanations are lies.

My opinion is that it is going to take us a generation to unwind all this BS. In the meantime gays, the rest of society & science will suffer.

@OldGuy77: The 1st amendment has never applied to elementary or secondary school teachers in their classrooms. Defending communism could get you fired back in the 1950s. Defending Darwinism while openly denouncing Genesis in a biology class can get you in trouble in some school systems even today.

I don’t hate Conservatives. Actually, if this was said in an open classroom, then it could get the school district in trouble because they have to protect ALL their students, Black, White, Gay, or Straight. If he lawyered up and takes this before the school board, he may get an earful and they might do even worse to him than this suspension. Schools don’t like being sued and there will be people who were offended and would sue if he weren’t punished. And the school district would be embarassed nationally.

Of course you hate conservatives TOKYOROSE. Don’t insult anyone’s intelligence by pretending not to.

You’re a DC based unionista who seeks to undermine the constitution and create a big government nanny state which picks the winners and losers based on who grovels to the government adequately enough. We’ve seen how that will play out with Obama’s insistance on throwing billions of dollars at the failure after failure that is “green jobs”. Heck…he installed Van Jones an admitted communist as his “Czar of Green Jobs” before the cur was shamed out of DC. You routinely come to this site to scrub and sanitize anti-union stories. It’s so predictable fellow Blazers actually call your response before you give it.

Please TOKYOROSE go peddle your idiocy at huffpo where your fellow liberal chimpanzees applaud and throw their poo at passersby.

Desert Rose, you are a product of today’s education. Even if this was said in a classroom, there is no crime here. Getting your feelings hurt is not a crime. There was no slander and there was no intent to harm someone else, so the teacher did not meet any of the requirements to make this punishable. Still today the left demonize rich people and conservative politicians IN THE CLASSROOM….yet you use our silence against us. No more, get the hell out of this country if you do not like free speech.
