Ann Coulter Delivers Dire Gun Warning: Universal Background Checks Could Lead to ‘Universal Confiscation, Universal Extermination’ of Firearms

Ann Coulter on “Hannity” (Photo Credit: Fox News)
Commentator Ann Coulter appeared on “Hannity” last night, issuing a dire warning to the American people about universal background checks, a provision currently being touted by gun control advocates. Rather than embracing the proposal, Coulter warned that it could lead to “universal confiscation” and, ultimately, “universal extermination” of firearms.
After speaking briefly with host Sean Hannity about the much-discussed photograph of President Barack Obama skeet shooting, the columnist noted that the president misses the point on the Second Amendment (i.e. the purpose of the constitutional right isn’t so citizens can go skeet shooting; it allows Americans to protect themselves).
“I’m waiting for photos of him taking birth control pills to show him fighting the war on women,” Coulter quipped.
On the gun control front, she gave a passionate speech about how the real problem is mental illness, accusing the left of skirting that issue and embracing firearms control measures that may do little to actually solve the problem. Of particular note, she focused upon universal background checks, launching into claims that implementing them would be potentially-dangerous for Second Amendment rights. Here’s what she said:
“The problem with universal background checks is, we basically have universal background checks now. Any licensed gun dealer is performing a background check. The buyer may not know, someone at a gun show may not know, but if you’re walking through a gun show, everybody’s doing background checks. The only people who are not subjected to a background checks are collectors giving guns to their sons or they’re selling one to their brother-in-law or something. The only way to enforce universal — the last .1 percent of guns that are transferred by collectors and so on — is to have universal gun registration.”
It is here that Coulter noted that U.S. citizens could fall victim to a slippery slope of gun control regulations, inevitably culminating in a loss of the right to bear arms.
“Universal background check means universal registration. Universal registration means universal confiscation, universal extermination,” she continued. “That’s how it goes in history. Do not fall for universal background checks.”
Coulter also went on to lambaste the notion that a gun in the home “is more likely to be used against the owner than to kill an intruder,” something that is sometimes touted by those seeking greater gun restrictions.
“This is a lie they are telling you in order to prevent Americans from self-defense, from protecting themselves so that only the government has a monopoly on guns,” she said of other claims against guns being perpetuated in media.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on February 5, 2013 at 1:15pmLol is this a suprise to anyone. The entire purpose of registration is so that they can know where every legally owned gun is. What do you think they’re going to do with that information.
And it still doesn’t do anything to combat criminals getting guns. They steal their guns or get them from black market gun dealers. They don’t go to gun shows.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 1:00pmBackround Checks is nothing new. Poor dumb Americans have fallen prey to these thing unknowingly for a long time. The Credit Bureau’s have been collecting information on people for years, This information is freely exchanged in the cooperate world all the time. Gun control is not about lowering death by guns, but a means by which the goverment and police can track who has a gun so they can take it away when the order is given. Universal Backround check do more harm than good. Percentage wise there is just a small percent who use guns illegally given the amount of people who own weapons. Vehicle accidents takes more lives than guns do, so why are we not taking away the automobiles? Guns owner have a RIGHT, Goverment has no right to infringe on that, yet they do. How? By scare tactics and fear, they exploit a situation and use it to further their control over the Citizens, which by the way was one of the reasons for the 2nd Amendment to begin with. Our founding father wanted us to have to means to remove the goverment should the goverment turn towards tyranny. Our goverment is in fear of the people who have guns, they do not care about us, their spending shows us that. The manipulation of Bills by adding in junk money for pet projects show us the goverment does not care. We are doomed in this country if we do not stand up and protect our rights and toss these worthless law makers from office. As I said this is about CONTROL not about anything else.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 12:54pmNow I’m not expert. I have shot guns before and have even gone skeet shooting. Seems to me, people go skeet shooting with shotguns, not rifles. Obama is holding a rifle, not a shotgun. Like I said, I’m not an expert, but I do know something about guns and skeet shooting and which end of the gun is the most dangerous.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 12:45pmObama is not stupid – he knows he’ll never convince the majority of gun owning americans to see things his way, and he knows that anyone who truly believes that the 2nd amendment was established to protect the populous against a tyrannical government, will never see things his way.
It’s everybody else.
So he keeps up this pro-gun facade – every speech he mentions not taking away ALL guns, that hunters and sportsmen can keep their guns, but with a little “common sense” regulation we’ll ALL BE SAFER…. propaganda at it’s finest – to everybody else it sounds reasonable – they’re trying to brainwash the masses, and make everyone who disagrees with him unreasonable, or supportive of these not jobs who go on these rampages – makes me sick.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 12:31pmAn excerpt from the Russian story I posted.
In 1918, ten thousand Reds took Moscow and were opposed only by some few hundreds of officer cadets and their instructors. Even then the battle was fierce and losses high. However, in the city alone, at that time, lived over 30,000 military officers (both active and retired), all with their own issued weapons and ammunition, plus tens of thousands of other citizens who were armed. The Soviets promised to leave them all alone if they did not intervene. They did not and for that were asked afterwards to come register themselves and their weapons: where they were promptly shot.
Of course being savages, murderers and liars does not mean being stupid and the Reds learned from their Civil War experience. One of the first things they did was to disarm the population. From that point, mass repression, mass arrests, mass deportations, mass murder, mass starvation were all a safe game for the powers that were. The worst they had to fear was a pitchfork in the guts or a knife in the back or the occasional hunting rifle. Not much for soldiers.

By the way where are the arabs getting all the guns that there carrying around in there countries I don’t see them putting away weapons at all.But think of Obama care doctors making the decision who is sane and not while they ask you or your kids who has a gun or whatever quistions they want, and put away any1 who disagrees with them etc. If all of this is constitutional how did we let that happen? And if it is not constitutional how are they still in? Don’t we have people in there that get payed to look after the constitution if there not why are they getting payed and not thrown out of office. Does anybody still know why all those republicans did not go and vote?

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 12:05pmSecond Amendment Right to Bear Arms – Universal background checks will lead to even more intrusion into your health and personal background. I have a right to bear arms, and there is nothing in that Amendment that requires me to state what I am doing with that weapon, whether it’s hunting, personal defense or hanging on the wall – none of their business!
WARNING – in case you didn’t know, Congress is discussing a bill to outlaw “gun running.” At first I thought of “Fast and Furious” but then it occurred to me that this bill could be used against citizens if they are found to own a firearm not registered, or if it is sold without the “required” background check!! Imagine what the penalties will be…confiscation? Jail? Remember they are above the law…
Be careful about insisting on more “mental health” monitoring as well! Anyone take any anti-depressant, or been depressed due to loss of a loved one or post-partum depression? If your background check shows any of that (once ObamaCare allows access to your medical records) then you will be denied, and you won’t be able to have a firearm in the house if someone else has had any of these symptoms as well!
Be Careful What You Wish For – SAY NO to universal background checks – there are many initial false responses.
Stand Strong – You have a right to own a firearm for any reason or no reason – don’t let the government use your emotions and take your weapons America!
God Bless America!

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 12:02pmThe problem with the premise that we need guns to keep the Government in line is flawed in 2 very serious ways. First… it is a federal crime to even PLOT the overthrow of the Federal and/or State government. So you would be, rightfully, called a criminal for planning to do so and probably treated as a terrorist by Homeland Security (also rightfully so). Second… even if we armed every capably civilian to the teeth it would do little more than inconvenience our military. See… our GOVERNMENT has, under its control, the largest arsenal on the planet. Whatever number of guns you think we have pales by comparison. A small yield tactical nuke will trump several million Glocks in about.0000025 seconds (give or take a nanosecond). Using the “we have to keep the Government in line” line of reasoning is a “black and white” fallacy at best. Besides… isn’t the “Government” we have to watch out for US?

My bet is that, at least at present, if Obama tried to give such an order, I think HE would stand a much better chance of being quickly rubbed out by our military before any American city would be.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 12:20pmOh, the government is watching you alright…are you subversive? Pose a threat? One of those crazy right-wingers and bitter clingers?
The Right to Bear Arms is the only thing that keeps a tyrannical government from overtaking the citizenry. When you know someone has firearms, won’t you hesitate before confronting them?
The administration does not want an incident that will awaken the American people to their plans. The plans to repeal the Second Amendment have been in the works – literally waiting for the right opportunity – to be pushed through.
Don’t be fooled, these aren’t “common sense” measures to save a life…this is about American rights guaranteed by our Constitution. Those promoting gun control are the radicals, and if we are strictly speaking, they are committing treason by attempting to usurp the power of the people!
This is NOT about gun violence or gun safety – it’s an attack on Second Amendment rights and THAT is the fight at hand. If it’s “for the children” then the best thing we can do is preserve American Rights and Liberty for our children and grandchildren.
Does the government have weaponry? Oh yeah, and we’re seeing more and more “drills” in American cities – get used to it. I understand military personnel are being given a litmus test – would you fire upon a US citizen if ordered to do so? (Some are saying no and standing down!) But, if they dare to confiscate, they may kill some, may even get the firearms, but

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 11:59amRODT82721, you asked: “Lastly are we as a Nation so far gone, as to accept this blatant attack on the 2nd amendment, just because our community organizer gives a speech?”
Not ALL of this nation is that far gone.
Even in New York state, there are ALREADY those vowing to DEFY the recently-passed New York law. In fact, in many parts of New York state which are still reasonably conservative, I could easily see a whole new era of “jury nullification”, in which local juries in those parts of the state simply refuse to convict accused violators of the law that Governor Cuomo recently signed there. I also believe that in those parts of the state, a lot of local sheriffs will refuse to enforce the law, or at least parts of it (such as seizing high-capacity magazines).
West Virginia certainly isn’t so far gone yet – as the recent declaration of a group of sheriffs in that state that they will NOT enforce any federal gun bans in THEIR jurisdictions attests.
Wyoming isn’t so far gone, as evidenced by its recent declaration that any attempt on the part of the federal government to grab the citizenry’s guns in that state will be met by the state militia.
And I could give many other examples of this spirit recently displayed throughout the country, but you see my point.
In liberal-dominated enclaves, THEY eat up Obama’s words – but then again, THEY are ALREADY disarmed, by CHOICE. But in much of “flyover country”, it’s a MUCH different story.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 11:29amThe founders had just finished a war against their own government which had become tyrannical… and before that it had been considered one of the freest countries then in the world. They had been proud to be English. They knew that times change, and the love of power can corrupt. What would last for generations might not last forever. The 2nd amendment has been called a doomsday provision, in case everything else failed the citizens would not be defenseless against a corrupt and tyrannical government.
Many tyrants of the past were not predicted, some were even voted into power with the expectation that they would make things better (Hitler for example). History has shown us many tyrants, in many countries. Human nature is the same around the world. America is not magically immune to the possibility of corruption or love of power among its leaders. Nor are we always stoic against the slings and arrows of misfortune. People will often hunger for someone who can make things all right… and we do not always trust the right people. We cannot know what the next two or three centuries may bring. Why strip out this provision of the constitution, or undermine it with new legislation…?
Vote NO on constitutional evasion for gun control.

The progressives now control 66% of our Federal govt, the media, the education system and they know that the only way to finish off Barry’s transformation is by getting those guns away from the voters and patriots that are not brain dead.
What is a “universal” back ground check?
Who is doing the checking, and what are they checking for?
Who will decide how may pass and what recourse for a law abiding citizen that is denied, either through a real identity error, or some political reason?
What happens to the data once it’s is collected?
And just how many nuts will fail a background check and just go home and forget their plan of murder?
All questions that our dear leader never mentions in his canned speeches, his entire plea to get your guns are based on polling from his media friends. “Everyone agrees with me”!
Lastly are we as a Nation so far gone, as to accept this blatant attack on the 2nd amendment, just because our community organizer gives a speech?

Ask Maureen Dowd how well HER employer – the New York Times – is doing financially these days depending wholly on the patronage of this segment of the populace.
Or for that matter, ask the publishers of Newsweek the same question. They did so well financially depending on you lefties to keep them afloat that this rag disappeared from the newsracks at the end of last year.
Ask almost any host of any show that has been on the air on Communist News Network or BSLSD in the last couple of years – Eliot Spitzer is a prime candidate here – how well exclusive leftist patronage has translated into RATINGS.
