Representative John Conyers (D-Mich.) was speaking at a hearing on immigration policy held by the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday when he expressed his hope that “no one” in his company would use the term “illegal immigrant.”

“I hope no one uses the term ‘illegal immigrants’ here today. Our citizens are not–” he said, breaking off to correct himself. “Our, the people in this country are not illegal. They are out of status. They are new Americans that are immigrants, and I think that we can forge a path to citizenship that will be able to pass muster.”

Conyers is the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee.

For those who don’t recall, Conyers is the same representative who mocked those who ask elected officials to actually read the bills they sign into law for the rest of the nation.

“I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,” he said. “What good is reading the bill if it’s 1,000 pages, and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”

Conyers is currently serving his 24th term in Congress. First elected in 1965, he is the second most senior member of the House of Representatives.

Conyers has leached off of the American taxpayer for forty eight years. Not much difference between him and an illegal alien as far as I can see.

News flash: words have meanings… democrats always want to change the meanings of words because the correct definitions interfere with their treasonous/communist agends.

Immigrants are people that have come here legally…

Illegal aliens are people that have come here “ILLEGALLY”… they are not out of status… their status is pretty clear… they are not here legally… it is absurd to reconcile otherwise.

… to do so is no different than saying obama and holder are out of status (having decided it is legal(?) to kill americans without due process, clearly they would like that same courtesy(?) extended to themelves as well)???

Mr. Conyers should visit Compton before he starts redefining the English language. Illegals already drain $ 330 billion from state and Federal coffers. How does that help blacks?

Thank you Detroit for another amazing specimine of stupidity! Oh how this reflects as to your stupidity too for voting this guy in over and over and over again.

As for his remarks, take them with a grain of salt. He is basically saying to the illegals, COME TO DETROIT and vote for me. I have lots of O’bucks to give away. You can join the rest of the 55% freeloaders. Common come one and all!

Here is one question that I really would like answered, what is wrong with our immigration system?
Can anyone tell me, I’ll give you a hint, it is very simple and it is a response that may fool you. Got it? Here is my answer, NOTHING, the problem is not the laws or system it is our government and their failure to obey the laws they have written and a compete disregard for our constitution. Should I say it is this president that has ordered the laws to be forgotten and the constitution irrelivent.

The real problem, the same problem we have had for decades, during our last 3 mass deportations, it that they do not close and seal the boarders. If this isn’t done what’s the point other than political posture and vote grabbing.

  Nothing can improve until the boarder is ACTUALLY SECURE… Not “more secure than ever”… BUT absolutely SEALED… End of discussion. Once that is done, then things will start to improve with regards to immigration.
  
  But the way things are going here….. we outnumbered and unarmed patriots may need to regroup in Canada or even Mexico someday….

( Voted him Out. ) And Conyers – I will use the word ILLEGAL because it has a specific meaning that I wish to convey. I will exercise MY God Given Right to Speak FREELY. Along the same reasoning why we have “overseas contingency operations” and “workplace violence”.

Is anyone really simplex minded enough to believe this country can be changed back to normal values without TSHTF?

We’ve been incrementally driven beyond a point of return. Is there anything, anything at all, that has happened since at least Wilson (well, ok, maybe Lincoln…we’ve been loosing since him), and especially since circa 1960, where Constitutional America has come out ahead on? Compromise and “going along” has ALWAYS resulted in a net incremental LOSS.
