International media is reporting that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s historic trip to Cairo has been married by a shoe-throwing incident.
The Atlantic summarizes what we know:
There were conflicting reports about who threw the offending footwear, as a local Turkish outlet originally stated that he was “physically assaulted” by an angry Syrian citizen. Then Luke Russert said that NBC had a report of four Sunni Salafist men being arrested for the attack. Finally, a video surfaced that showed a shoe thrower not really coming that close to Ahmadinejad.
It’s not quite the Iraqi journalist who launched two shoes at President George W. Bush at a press conference four years ago, but, really, everyone in this shot is probably closer than anyone should be able to get in public to a world leader with a lot of enemies…
Video of the attack is hard to make out, but you can see Ahmadinejad in an extremely crowded of group of people, smiling and gesturing, before the tone seems to change. A shoe appears and completely misses the Iranian leader, and then Ahmadinejad is hurried away. Turkish news service Anadolu Ajansi has the footage:
Ahmadinejad was reportedly attacked after he left the historic Al-Hussein mosque in Cairo, where he was reprimanded for his support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Turkish media reported that the man who threw the shoe had a Syrian accent and accused Ahmadinejad of killing his brothers.
Hitting someone with a shoe is extremely offensive in the Middle East since shoes are considered unclean and, The Telegraph notes, are associated with the lowest part of the body.

Feb. 6, 2013 at 9:07am99.9 % of the people were greeting him with wild enthusiasm. The judeo western press will omit that.
Our news comes from Jews, CIA/Mossad/MI5, Freemasons, Armaments Industrialists and Stockjobbers.
Working together to create a false reality that benefits them and only them and their Global Government.
That is all it is and will ever be until things become better.

Feb. 6, 2013 at 1:54amWell, I’m just glad that President Ahmadinejad is alright. This incident just may have been a blessing in disguise, since it will warn him to be more careful when in public in the future. I have the utmost respect for President Ahmadinejad, one of the brightest and most intelligent leaders in the entire Middle East. God Bless you, sir!

Feb. 5, 2013 at 7:20pmIt has always been considered a huge insult to throw a shoe at someone whom you detest in this part of the world. It is considered very nasty since in some areas it is not possible to not get some decaying refuse or fecal matter attaching itself to the sole of the shoe. I think this latest incident shows how near the total collapse of civilization we are ! It’s been reported , by that nice young man , Rachel Maddow , that this shoe was not only contaminated with dung but also had been worn by Glenn Beck !

Feb. 5, 2013 at 6:44pmWow, the dreaded “unclean” shoe.
Seems like everything is considered “unclean” to these heathens, except for the blood of innocent human infidels and sacrificial animals.
What a backward society.
