WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama plans to visit Israel in the spring, marking his first visit to the nation since becoming president.

The White House says Obama spoke about the visit with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Jan. 28. That’s when Obama congratulated Netanyahu on his success in Israel’s recent election.

Obama visited Israel while running for president in 2008, but hasn’t been back since, prompting criticism from some pro-Israel groups.

The White House says the start of Obama’s second term offers an opportunity to reaffirm Israel’s close relationship with the U.S. and to discuss major issues like Syria and Iran.

The White House has not released the date of Obama’s trip.

      I’m glad God gave me the power of discernment, because Obama is so slimey most non-believers fall for everything he does. Just remember, Obama care his everyone in the pocket book next year and when everyone finds out it’s not free Obama will have a lot of explaining to do.

      You are right. What goes around comes around. I suspect the Israeli’s will be far more gracious that Obama was, but that will NOT be hard. Obama and company were rude, insulting, and acted like trash instead of President.

      The latest archeological estimates state that perhaps the mosque will not have to be moved. They are thinking that maybe the old temple was further south of the Mosque than first thought. There may be room for it afterall.

      The temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. Israel IS getting ready to rebuild it, but there’s that pesky mosque standing in the way.

      I agree with Perry Stone’s end-time teachings. He says Elijah (one of the two prophets) will “restore all things,” i.e., oversee the building of the temple. He will have supernatural knowledge to identify who belongs to which tribe, (so it is done according to the Law), and will call fire from heaven when the m-mads try to stop them.

    Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in Egypt picking up the 20 f-16s fighter jets .that obama gave them in a back door deal with Iran ;;; only to attack ISREAL with… he will meet with Netanyahu.. only to lie and try to convince him that he will be on his side ..obama is setting Isreal up.

      So it was Israel that decided to give planes to Egypt and money to the Palestinians? American politicians aren’t calling for Israel to stop settlement development? Obama didn’t call for a return to indefensible borders, which would even violate UN resolution 242 (which you undoubtedly support)? It was Israel, not Obama, who sent Hilary Clinton to interfere in the conflict in Gaza?

      Honestly, I try not to think to hard about your claims because if I actually thought about your idiotic argument in any serious way my head would likely explode from trying to make sense of all the contradictions.

      But while I’m here, I think I should point out that it is illegal under the Basic Laws of Israel (Israel’s constitutional equivalent) to return Jerusalem.

    Perhaps this is anti-christ’s first false peace overture to Israel. I wouldn’t be at all surpirsed to see Obama appear to bring peace to the Middle East. What I really hope is that Netanyahu hands him off to some obscure clerk to give a tour of Jerusalem and then let’s him spend his remaining time sitting in hotel suite waiting by the phone.

      Krypto: You maybe and probably are right. In the meantime Obama will do until the real one comes along, or until Satan actually takes full control of the person in question. Until then Obama has shown no sign that I can recognize that even remotely suggests that he is a Christian. His ability to lie and act against righteousness while speaking the name of Christ shows that while he may not be the anti-Christ, he is atleast a type of what we can expect. To borrow a literary term, a foreshadowing of what is to come.
