9-Year-Old Gives Birth to Healthy 6-Pound Baby — Police Search for 17-Year-Old Man Who May Have Raped Her

9 Year Old Mexican Girl Gives Birth and Authorities Suspect 17 Year Old of Rape or Abuse

The 9-year-old reportedly gave birth at Zoquipan Hospital. (Photo: Zoquipan Hospital/Facebook)

A 9-year-old girl in Mexico reportedly gave birth to a nearly 6 pound baby girl Jan. 27, and police are on the hunt for a 17-year-old who might have fathered the child as a result of rape, AFP reported authorities speculating.

“We are looking for the young man to get his story because she does not understand what has happened. This is a rape or child sex abuse case,” Jorge Villasenor with the state prosecutors’ office said according to AFP.

ABC News reported further Lino Ginzalez Corona, a spokesperson at the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office, saying the girl, identified only as Dafne,  described relationship with the father as loving and that they were dating. But given her age, authorities don’t know how accurate this account is and they’re “still open to the possibility of rape or child sex abuse.”

Here’s more from Corona regarding the unusual situation:

“She did not realize that she was pregnant until the seventh month,” said Corona. Her boyfriend suggested Dafne move in with him and to raise the child together but when the young mother refused, her boyfriend “decided to leave town two months ago,” says Corona.

[...]

Dafne, who is one of 11 children, lives in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos, a poverty-stricken neighborhood 25 miles south of Guadalajara. “Her parents work all day and were not watching after her,” says Corona, “and therefore didn’t realize what was about to happen.”

ABC reported that Dafne delivered the baby through a C-section. According to the National Institutes of Health, the general age for females to begin their menstrual cycle and therefore be able to bear children is around 12 years old.

Dafne is among the youngest women to deliver a child, but certainly not the only one. A 1939 Time article reported a Peruvian girl at age 5 becoming pregnant. Just last year, a 10-year-old Columbian girl gave birth. A number of other young births have been reported over the years.

All she needs to do now is hope her daughter has a child at the age of 9 thus making her the youngest grandmother on earth, just 18 years old.

Actually Palter, at risk of starting a firestorm, since this girl considered herself having a ‘loving relationship with the father’, this was not considered a ‘violent’ rape that Akin was referring.

Remember, Satan appears as an angel of light. Just because someone says they are a Christian doesn’t mean they are.

Because someone calls themselves a Christian, does not make them a Christian. A Christian would not impregnate a child. Calling you a liberal, hateful, unintelligent freak does not make you that, it is just an observation of the truth.

You’ll have to give proof for the statement that lots of cult leaders have done the same thing if you want to be believable. I won’t challenge the idea that they might rape 10 year olds…child sexual abuse is a fact all over. Very few 10 year olds can get pregnant, though….as noted accurately in the article.

Christianity is not a cult, it is a living breathing relationship with God because of the sacrifice and Resurrection of Jesus. If a man has raped or had sex with a 9 year old girl, he is not a christian. As all people who call themselves christian are not true Christians. Yet, christian people are not beyond sin as you yourself are not. Sin is our ability to hold ourselves separate from the will of God in our daily living. When we allow him to show us our sin by knowing his love, compassion and forgiveness, we can live more sinless lives as we can see what sin does to us and those around us and we are thankful for God’s grace toward us. Heaven is when God’s love surrounds us in perfect completion. Hell is where there is no love, compassion or forgiveness. The spirit of God will leave when his people do and the earth can than know what a loveless life is like.

FireAndBrimstone has obviously confused his religions… Islam condones such things, Christianity does not. Calling yourself Christian and actually living your life in such a manner as to truly BE Christian are two entirely different things.

Why is this so difficult for so many to grasp?

Can you say “oxyMORON”? (The emphasis on MORON is for you). There is no such thing as a “christian cult”. If they are a cult, twisting the scriptures to say things they do not say, they are by definition NON-Christian. Any one can call themselves a Christian (Adolf Hitler did), but if they aren’t living by the precepts (look it up) set by our founder, Jesus the Messiah, then they are not of His fold. The tree is known by it’s fruits. Your response is typical of the non-thinking, illogical and unreasonable haters of truth who can’t even see the irony in the hate speech they spew at us claiming we’re the haters. Typical progressive “tolerance”; tolerating everyone’s views as long as they don’t contradict yours. And on a vile issue like this one you would think we could unite in our condemnation for such abhorrent (again, look it up) behavior but you choose instead to exploit this girl’s pain and suffering to vomit your hatred at your enemies. Good show!

One word, Enron. So many hard working individuals that put there heart and soul into a company only to have it torn down by greed and mismanagement. All of their hard earned money and retirement savings gone in an instant. While they were kept from moving their investments out of Enron the higher ups sold out to get whatever they could but the low man on the totem poll got nothing. Corporate farms in this country paying illegal immigrants well below the average, working them to death in the fields, moving them around like cattle and if they speak up its back to Mexico for them all so you can enjoy the dollar menu at McDonalds.
Airlines requiring that their flight attendants were flammable leggings for nothing more than it looks pretty.
Hooters… Do I need to elaborate on it.
There’s a reason OSHA exists and it has very much to do with corporate greed cutting corners and putting their workers in unnecessary harm.

I’m on the other side of the spectrum when it comes to government because the less government intrusion in all areas of life the better. The alphabet soup of agencies created by government aren’t here to help us they’re purpose is to exert power and control over businesses and take their cut. OSHA SEC and many others are just as corrupt as the rest of government.

I love John Stossel, hes probably one of the best but I hate statistics and would never use them in an argument they’re too easily manipulated for ones argument. I would argue that the poverty statistic may be down but living in poverty has gotten worse. I agree with you that less government intrusion in the “individuals” lives is better but without consequences and certain rules corporate America will return to the old ways where you don’t get overtime, you don’t get sick days and if you take a vacation they may just replace you in your absence. Most of all rules in OSHA are etched in blood, meaning someone had to get injured or die for these rules to be enacted because corporate America was never going to do it on it’s own. Corporate America is for profit and that is a good thing but at some point that thirst for profit puts the workers at risk and without some intervention or oversight the worker gets stiffed so the people at the top can buy a house in the Hamptons.
