A new MSNBC promo featuring a monologue from Rev. Al Sharpton caught fire on the Internet Wednesday morning. Conservative bloggers point out that the phrase “under God” is missing from what sounds like Sharpton, who hosts his own MSNBC program, reciting a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Sharpton’s voice over says: “[V]oting rights, and women’s rights, and the rights of people against discrimination, whether they’re African-American, Latino, lesbian and gay, must be protected, until we have a nation that is really living up to the creed of one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Not all of one kind. But all.”
The portion in bold is indeed similar to the conclusion of the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance which says “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” And it’s hard to imagine anyone hearing that portion of the ad without directly associating it with the full Pledge. MSNBC, however, is denying that it was meant to be a recitation of the Pledge.
“A lot of our new promos are soundbites from our air,” an MSNBC spokesperson told TheBlaze. “The clip of Rev. Sharpton was a segment, not Sharpton reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.”
Here’s the ad, via the conservative media watchdog NewsBusters:
The spokesperson directed us to the segment below from the Jan. 4 edition of Sharpton’s program Politics Nation. The segment was titled “Block the Vote” and focused on Republican efforts to supposedly block minorities from voting. At the end, Sharpton reads from the teleprompter the monologue that now appears in the ad (begins at 4:40 mark).

Feb. 7, 2013 at 7:23amSharpton is a bigoted, racist charlatan. Only PMSNBC could ante up the cash to employ this race baiter. He is on a one way ticket to Hell, seeing as God doesn’t take too well to the blasphemous.

Feb. 6, 2013 at 7:51pmOur world was built by the Creator and the One and Only God, Jesus Christ, the Creator of all, so any nation that has risen is definitely under God whether some of you like it or not. You can refuse to say it, but it will never change it.The Middle East isn’t following the only God Jesus Christ, and things aren’t looking too good for them, is it? If it wasn’t for the USA and Israel there would be no Middle East because they fight among themselves over their false god. The US is getting weaker because many are now refusing to accept who our Creator really is. Obama and the progressive commies have created nothing but chaos, not only here at home, but across the globe. You liberals better wake up and acknowledge who we live under or you may wake up in a permanent bunker with plenty of global-warming temperatures like you have never experienced before.

Feb. 6, 2013 at 10:38pmREVered by ONE? REVerse of RESponsible? The sound one makes when getting ready to blow off the starting line? Wishful thinking? Tax fraud (Rev. gets more tax breaks than Mr.) He uses it so people won’t call him for what he is, a Satanic puppeteer! (He sure knew how to pull Tawana Brawley’s strings!) Because it’s at the TOP of the shifter display and he is in TOP GEAR? Because, without it, no one would hire him? Because it SOUNDS NICE on the Radio? All of the above?

Feb. 6, 2013 at 6:05pmIn last year’s coverage of the US Open golf tournament, NBC ran the pledge of allegiance as recited by schoolchildren. They deliberately and intentionally edited out the words “under God”.
This is neither coincidence nor accident. It may also say something about Sharpton’s belief system, but it CERTAINLY can be added to the bill of particulars against NBC.

Feb. 6, 2013 at 5:41pmA Reverend who has no use for God…How un-American can you get NBC? Come to think of it one could also wonder whether Catholic colleges like Notre Dame, Georgetown, San Diego U and Fordham also feel the same way given the events of the last four years.

Feb. 6, 2013 at 5:28pmOne nation, with churches protected by the 1st amendment from the state modifying an establishment of religion called marriage, divided by Democrats who are willing to murder their children with abortion, yet expect never ending tax credits for all, shall surely, after dividing the nation, tempt it to fall?

Feb. 6, 2013 at 4:46pmFun Facts:
-The pledge was written by two American Socialist Cousins that professed their true love of Marx. Francis and Ed Bellamy, the latter the author of “Looking Backward”, which is considered the American Communist Manifesto.
-The flag was a pledge to the NEWLY FORMED CENTRAL GOVERNMENT. This means in their opinion the Declaration of Independence and the lifes work of Jefferson and Madison were null and void (free and independent states etc.).
-The pledge was originally done with what became known as the Nazi salute. This is where they got it.
-Our founding fathers (even Hamilton) never once used the word “indivisible”.
-The idea was taken from the oath administered to former Confederate Soldiers during the reformation years. This was the civilian version.
When I first learned this, I was furious, I first heard this on Glenn Beck one day. I started researching it and uncovered Americas real Marxist ties. Sorry, its all true. Heres a good read.
