Chris Rock: Obama Is ‘Our Boss’, the ‘Dad of the Country’… ‘And When Your Dad Says Something, You Listen’

Comedian Chris Rock(C) delivers brief remarks during a press conference February 6, 2013 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence held a news conference to call on Congress to act on US President Barack Obama’s plan to reduce gun violence, including background checks for all gun sales and an assault weapons ban. Credit: AFP/Getty Images
Actor Chris Rock appeared on Capitol Hill on Wednesday to support President Barack Obama’s gun control efforts. He explained that Obama is “our boss” and even argued he is like the “Dad of the country.”
“The President of the United States is, you know, our boss. But he is also, you know, the president and the first lady are kinda like the Mom and Dad of the country,” Rock said. “And when your Dad says something, you listen. And when you don’t, it will usually bite you in the ass later on. So, I’m here to support the president.”
That was about all Rock had to say on Capitol Hill Wednesday, but his remarks are very telling about how he sees Obama.
Rock has previously called for unconventional gun control proposals, including allowing only people with mortgages to buy a gun. He also called for “bullet control” — or making bullets so expensive that no one can afford ammunition — in one of his comedy acts.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 4:54pmTALK ABOUT ABSURD!!! Obama is a joke who is wrecking our country because he hates us…you can’t name ONE THING…one …not even 1 that he’s done to help anyone of us!!!
NOW that the Senate may get off their duffs and fix immigration, that will mean 11 Million off the HEALTH CARE ER ROOM DOLE… (they have to pay for it now) so all that’s left is a few that we’d want to take care of anyway; our Great Military who damned well deserve our help and the “FREE BIRD youth” who never think they’ll ever need more than the insurance THEY ALREADY HAVE ON THEIR AUTO POLICIES!!… Yet this jackass in chief has raised our health insurance at least by 4 times; has bankrupted this country and most of the companies in it…CHRIS ROCK…DUDE… learn this: WE DID NOT NEED THIS HEALTH CARE…there were a zillion other ways to fix these out of orbit costs! NOW they can do heart monitoring on your CELL PHONE… there are (as Doctors will readily admit) so many over kills on tests; drugs that only require you to take MORE drugs to undo the effects of the first lousy drug and on and on and on. NO ONE had the “GUTS” to try to fix the costs…no…you little brats just wanted MO MONEY MO MONEY…. I probably won’t live long enough to see you grow up, but people your age who have are reporting that it’s a great head space to be in.

9 times out of 10 they are poking fun at the Chris Matthews of the world by “making everything about race”. There are lots of racist comments on the Blaze- i don’t deny that- but there are many racially provocative comments here that are only racist to those that think Conservatives aren’t savvy enough to be subtly sarcastic.
This mis-perception is where you, and many of your cohorts, fail.
sub·tle (stl)
adj. sub·tler, sub·tlest
1.a. So slight as to be difficult to detect or describe; elusive: a subtle smile.
b. Difficult to understand; abstruse: an argument whose subtle point was lost on her opponent.
2. Able to make fine distinctions: a subtle mind.
3.a. Characterized by skill or ingenuity; clever.
b. Crafty or sly; devious.
c. Operating in a hidden, usually injurious way; insidious: a subtle poison.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 5:28pmI think it is what they call transparency. It is extremely transparent that hollywood is extremely bias. This debate has started to become a bit more transparent, it is about control not about violence. Having so many people that believe in the Constitution is so bone chilling to the Marxists that they have to disarm us before they can continue their assault on America.

One way, he’s a racist, the other way, he’s a complete hypocrite that will change his tune (again) when the next Republican PotUS takes over.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 6:56pmKeatonc, the plantation comments are regarding what the right feels the left is doing to minorities. Basically keeping them on the modern “plantation” of always voting and thinking the same way and if they ever get out of line and buck their liberal masters, they are viciously attacked and called Uncle Toms or oreos or whatever other derogatory name you can think of. Just look at how horribly the left treats right wing blacks (Herman Cain, Justice Thomas), women (Palin, Bachman) etc. You may disagree with that characterization but I say this sincerely in the hope that you at least understand where we are coming from, it’s not about racism. Nobody genuinely thinks we should bring back slavery. Generally aside from the crazies, bringing up plantations/slavery is in the context of how the left keeps minorities in line.

He served three different terms as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives and was also Secretary of State from 1825 to 1829. He lost his campaigns for president in 1824, 1832 and 1844.
Clay was a dominant figure in both the First and Second Party systems.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 4:23pmI have to agree JUST_US2. Rock is asking the entire nation to see Obama the way he sees him. Look…Rock’s not the brightest anyway. His whole schtick is racially charged. He sees this country through a racial/progressive prism.
And so…as a racially charged liberal (and not a very bright one) , Rock has no problem with attempting to make Obama “Dear Leader” where his every word is to be adhered to and obeyed without question, or else (Rock makes a point of stressing there will consequences should you disobey dear leader). I would also confidently say that Obama’s color plays a significant role in Rock’s “colorful” concept of how America should bow to Obama. He’s essentially laughing in the face of the founding fathers and what they set about to avoid..despotism and fealty to the state by the people.
I’m curious as it’s only a matter of time before a republican becomes president again…will Rock be as enthusiastic and vociferous in demanding we all acquiesce to that man or woman? I really hope these words of Rock’s come back to haunt him.

Because you liberals made him a protected class. He’s special now. He can say anything he pleases with no consequences whatsoever. He can tell the entire nation to obey Obama or you’ll get an a$$ whoopin’ and idiots like you cheer him on like successful lab experiment. This is the idiocy of liberal protected classes. Oh there are exceptions of course. For instance if Rock were a conservative and spoke up against Obama’s policies you’d make sure he was smeared and shamed back onto the liberal plantation. As a black man in liberalville..he’s not allowed to stray from the lines you’ve taught him. But the good work you liberals have been doing for decades has paid dividends and so today, racially charged, foul-mouthed black comedians can demand we obey a black president or suffer the consequences and rather than take a step back and truly absorb what Rock’s suggesting and how it flies in the face of the American Bill of Rights and the Constitution…you protect your lab experiment instead. Brilliant.
The only person to have a funnier stand-up act- ever- is George Carlin.
That being said, it’s sad to see Mr. Rock drink the “Kool-Ade” beer funnel-style like he’s a Jersey Shore Ho.
Most of Rock’s racially-oriented stand-up stuff is equally insulting and stereo-typing towards blacks and whites alike. Nowadays… he’s falling for the “i must defend the BLACK president because i’m black, too” garbage.
I get it, though.
If i was black, & all the preceding POTUS’s where white, i’d be hard pressed not to feel the same way.
Hell, i vote for anyone with a Scottish surname when i’m not familiar with the candidates on local elections.
I’m sure, in the absence of more knowledge, many Blazers vote for those they know are Christian if it’s an unfamiliar office.
Anyway- my whole point is this: Rock’s a dope… but he’s no dopier than the majority of people that vote on gut-reactions, ethnicity, popularity, looks, etc.
There’s enough pride & ignorance to go around.

the man is funny.
really funny.
Brilliantly funny.
Like i said… him & Carlin. Two best ever…. until now.
Carlin never got involved in politics….. Rock should have followed the same path.
“That (shart) wasn’t about race… that (shart) was about fame….
If O.J. wasn’t famous he’d be in jail right now.
If O.J. drove a bus, he wouldn’t even be O.J….
He’d be ‘Orenthal, the bus driving murderer.’ …..”

I feel so badly about the people today that will never live in the world I grew up in. First ones on the block to have a TV. First black man to have his own show (Nat King Cole) Beenie and Cecil. Makes a person cry. Opening of Disneyland. Nothing but orange groves until you actually got to see the Mattahorn in the distance. All I have left are memories. Millions of them!!!!

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 7:12pm@KESTON333 “Its always race with you guys”
Race was made the key topic from the day IL Senator Barack Obama made his announcement on the steps in Springfield Illinois. He clearly stated the significance of why he stood where he did, and even included Abraham Lincoln’s “A House divided” speech.
His surrogates (both in the media and those who did media interviews on his behalf) made ecerything about race. Bill Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro were both labeled “racist”. Anyone who questioned Barack’s words, idealogy, past associations. etc were accused pof being racist.
President Barack Obama had no business saying, “The police acted stupidly”.
What exactly did President Barack Obama mean when he said , “If I had a son he would LOOK ike Treyvon Martin”?
Race has been used to gain votes.
As well, to distract, distort and divide; in the guise of “social justice”.
Barack Obama is the candidate of “change”.
Obamacare enacted will have every American hook, line and sinker. Look at what’s going on!!!
Golly gee, Chris Rock calls him our “dad”.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 4:41pmSorry Keaton333 the evidence is against you. Try reading “the Garden of Beasts” written by/about the US Ambassador to Germany in 1933. I’m not saying that Obama wants to be a Hitler, but the path is as it was in 1933 Germany. Does history repeat itself ? Absolutely. These types of despots are very opportunistic, and very egocentric. Have little regard for rules as they believe rules are meant to be manipulated by their superior intellect. Then they surround themselves by yes men who think they are meant to have power and riches. And above all love and fear the “dear leader” who tells them what to do.
Discount the possible at your peril.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 4:44pmKRETIN33…Mussolini is a much better comparison to Obama, the elevated sense of self. The self applaus, the chin jutting during speeches, the carefully scripted and choreographed appearances. I’m surprised he doesn’t have “Duce, Duce, Duce” spray painted (for that Chicago urban touch) instead of the presidential seal at the lecturn.

Maybe you are right Chris Rock, any time you contemplate taking inalienable rights given by our Heavenly Father away from his children, you’re asking to get your ass kicked?

Jamie Foxx with his *lord and savior* remark, Newsweek and the second coming headline, Obama with a crown of thorns, now he is our Dad………seems like I’ve read about a man that people would worship. Obama may not be the Antichrist but he sure is paving the way for one.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 8:40pmHIGHERROAD………..Yes, I have noticed that Obama never refutes these statements. This is another reason that I do not believe his claim to be Christian. Any true Christian would not allow himself to be compared to Jesus Christ and called our Lord and Savior. A Christian would denounce the statement as well as the one who made it.

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 4:00pmWe don’t need a “Dad” in this country! We need a president who will honor the Constitution, put Americans back to work, and provide for national defense. Perhaps Chris Rock has “Papa Doc” Duvalier of Haiti in mind. He killed 30,000 of his own people and destroyed the country of Haiti.
