Federal Reserve Confirms Anonymous Hacked System and Stole 4,000 Bank Executives Information

While many were watching the Super Bowl Sunday night, Anonymous was claiming it had hacked into the Federal Reserve and posted the names of more than 4,000 bank executives on another .gov website. Now, the Federal Reserve has confirmed that an internal portion of its website was hacked.

“The Federal Reserve system is aware that information was obtained by exploiting a temporary vulnerability in a website vendor product,” a spokeswoman said, according to Reuters.

“Exposure was fixed shortly after discovery and is no longer an issue. This incident did not affect critical operations of the Federal Reserve system,” the spokeswoman continued.

Those whose personal information was obtained, which ZDNet reported included logins, IP addresses and contact information, have been notified.

As we reported Tuesday, the attack appears to be part of Anonymous’ OpLastResort, which is a campaign to reform U.S. computer crime law after the the suicide of Reddit co-founder Adam Swartz who was at the time being prosecuted by the government for illegally going through MIT’s system to steal millions of online scholarly articles.

The Fed didn’t say specifically what part of its website was hacked, but Reuters noted that it seems to be a non-public website to store a database for banks to use in the event of a natural disaster.

Anonymous has claimed support of the 2ND Amendment. There actions seem to support that they, too, see government becoming tyrannical.

We must never let go of the fact, that those we elected to serve us, are moving to control us. There WORDS mean nothing, when their ACTIONS speak VOLUMES. Watch what they DO, and try preventing as much as possible.

  If any of you actually watched the full video that Anonymous left on the Sentencing Website, most of you would agree with their entire message. Most of you, had you not been tarnished by the MSM demonizing Anonymous, would have cheered them on when they sent a message to Obama backing up gun owners and the 2nd Amendment.
  
  They speak for the Constitution, ALL of them, not just the ones that Liberals like to cling to (1st Amendment) or the ones that Conservatives cling to (2nd Amendment).
  
  If I were to guess on Anonymous’ party affiliation, if they were ever to make such an affiliation, it would be to the Libertarian or Constitutional Party….
  
  ….but since you all just listen to the MSM (including the Blaze which has become part of the machine) you just see them as “basement dwellers”.
  
  It’s clear that elections don’t work. Government officials don’t listen to the people they represent anymore. What more is there to do before a violent, bloody revolution becomes our only option left?
  
  If Anonymous is true to their beliefs, actually believe in what they say in their videos, and they have the power to make the Government and Banksters fear revelations, then I support them 100%.

  Ok, so it looks like we have a draw here. Some folks like Anonymous, some hate their guts. Given that, we need tech savvy patriots to get in the govt’s digital faces and lay out the truth. I personally will take all the help we can get. But, if not Anon, then some of us patriots that can do it must step up. Everybody has a useful skill set. Put it to good use.

  Those Anonymous jerks stole my identity THREE TIMES last year!!! They hacked into multiple databases (Sony Playstation Store being one of them), and released all the credit-card info, usernames, passwords, email addresses, etc. to the public…just for “lulz” (geek speak for laughs).
  
  They are NOT good people, and have teamed up with the Palestinians and Hamas against Israel…

  @diablosho, 150 million people were fuming about the PSN shutdown. Anons were not among the popular during that time. BUT but… some of the issues brought up by anon, with SONY, was taking away the ability to own a product that was purchased. Untill an update was sent, you could use LINUX as an OS on the PS3. The government is trying to make an example of them to scare all of us from doing what is the right thing to do. The Fed is evil. Read your bible and what it says about devaluing money and fair coinage. The Fed is evil. These banksters stole trillions of dollars from all of us. The banks and government lost trillions of dollars through bad investments and then demanded to be reimbursed for those bad investments, by doing that you ended up taking the loss instead of them, and they destroyed the value of your homes in the process. One thing that the conservatives hate is mis-information. Be careful how you speculate the purpose of Anonymous. They are not affiliated with OWS, but they have some of the same arguments OWS had regarding corruption in the gov’t and business. Everyone here knows there is corruption. I dont know what the plan of Anonymous is, but based upon their past statements, they are trying to stop the corruption. The Fed is an illegal entity built with the NWO in mind. Those 4000 bankers are the same people making decisions regarding how to manipulate the economy. Maybe there is a relationship?

This isn’t shocking. I once worked for the Fed in the IT department and it was quite eye opening. Quite a bit of their coding projects are sent oversease. A Fedwire project came back with a Trojan horse in it. The guys who found it reported it to their boss who just shrugged it off. I notified my congressman who didn’t even bother to respond. The Federal Reserve may only be quasi-government but it sure operates like it is fully government.

I don’t have a problem with what they are doing at all. Somebody needs to expose this shadow govt and all of it’s operatives. Heck, every single Congressman, Senator, Supreme Court and upper Executive branch are nothing but NWO puppets. Just look at the legislation they pass. They regard us as the enemy. So I say expose all that crap. Let us see whom it is that are destroying this country.

  Barber, It has nothing to do with the name. If they’re hacking all these sites and releasing the information, where is all that leaked information? Anyone here seen it? So far all of us mushrooms have been given stories from the lapdog media regarding what the government told them. There has been no investigative reporting on anonymous that I have seen. Considering they’ve already passed laws making it legal for the federal government to use propaganda on us, it’s more logical that this is some sort of propaganda.

They went after Holder’s DOJ, the Fed, gun control, etc. Learn about them, don’t just follow the company line (that makes us Huff Post).
