Kim Kardashian Under Fire for Tweeting Pic of Jewel Encrusted Gun After Making Sandy Hook Pledge

Reality television star Kim Kardashian is drawing heavy fire for posting a photo of a jewel-encrusted handgun on Instagram just weeks after signing a pledge to reduce gun violence in honor of the Sandy Hook massacre.

“Today, people in Newtown are making the #sandyhookpromise to reduce gun violence. Sign the pledge with me at http://www.sandyhookpromise.org,” she wrote at the time.

But some are now conflating guns, with gun violence.

Hollywood gossip aficionado Perez Hilton wrote:

Now, Kim has been enjoying the shooting range for years now, and we’re sure she enjoys feeling like she can protect herself. But this was a clear example of a celebrity forgetting the height of their platform, and the social-impacting consequences that can come with it.

Kardashian has since removed the photo, but this isn’t the first time the reality star has posted a gun-related image.

A month before the Sandy Hook shootings, Kardashian apparently shared this picture of herself at a gun range on Twitter:

Kardashian, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Kanye West this summer, has not yet issued a public response to the controversy. But she’s no stranger to political controversy.

After tweeting that she was “praying for everyone in Israel” during conflict in the region in November, she was called a “disgrace” to her people and told that she is the reason at least one Twitter user wants “to die.”

Some, though, are standing up for Kardashian.

“Kim Kardashian posted a pic of a gun on Instagram & now everyone is all pissed off,” one person tweeted, according to ABC. “I forgot the 2nd amendment didn’t count for celebs.”

Ha! I thought she was a complete, trumped up nitwit and never really registered on my radar (besides reading the tabloids shoved in my face at every checkout), but any woman that enjoys the gun range gets a little more respect from me. That was a cool gun. I wish she had enough spine to keep the picture on her account. What’s up with everyone suddenly losing convictions when the whiny liberals start bawling? Come on!

perez hilton is on the bottom of darwin’s list of survivors.
i read through much of the sandy hook promise page and noticed that they talked about changing things, but never mention guns. spineless! only when i went to their news page and read a statement from Tim Makris, their co-founder, did i find anything.

Decent stance. Good grip. Finger off the trigger until she’s ready to shoot. Taking steps to practice and become proficient in firearms use. Way to go, Kim. I’m not a fan, but don’t be afraid to post a photo of you enjoying your 2nd Amendment rights!

Anyone who hates someone for praying for someone else SHOULD want to die. The disgrace is the numbers of American people who fear the satanic cult of islam so much so that they now hate the Jews. Undeniably and inarguably, every non-muslim person who stands with islam against the Jews is the lowest form of coward.

Get it straight, Librotards want you to give up your guns not theirs. They want gun bans that they will be exempted from. The little gun is cute, they come with a fold open handgrip and can shoot .22 lr or .22 mag. If Kim likes her guns ” Good for her”

It’s ok to be against gun violence.. we all are. But it doesn’t mean you have to give up the 2nd Amendment Right! If I were you I would buy more. Having a gun does NOT make you a bad person. Guns DON’T kill people, the person with the gun does!

Here’s the deal folks.. they want it where only the elite and lawmakers have guns.. the rest of us are chopped chicken.. Well I think American gun owners will show both who is boss! Thats the problem.. they think they are either God’s or that they are our bosses. I am wondering though how many Obama voters are kicking themselves now.. with this gun debate. how many of them are royally teed off. Well guess what.. elections have consequences.. so ya better decide quick what side your on!
