A Staten Island mother’s worst fears were confirmed when she caught her nanny smacking her infant daughter on hidden camera.
The baby’s mother went to the store around 4:20 p.m. on Jan. 28, leaving Mamura Nasirova, the nanny, alone with her baby, the New York Post reports. It was during this time that the nanny was caught on “nanny cam” hitting and shaking the 5-month-old baby girl, according to police.
The video, which was later uploaded to YouTube, shows the nanny attempting to bottle feed the infant who is settled in a baby chair in the living room. At one point, she smacks the baby in the face. Then, after the baby refuses to take the bottle, she begins hitting her on the legs and shakes her.
Per the New York Post’s Jessica Simeone:
The family installed the hidden camera in a carbon monoxide detector after they grew suspicious about the Uzbekistan-native nanny, sources said.
The camera was connected to a remote feed that the mother was watching when the abuse occurred inside of the family’s Woodlawn Avenue home, the source said. She immediately rushed home and confronted the woman.
The family then alerted police and posted the video online. The baby suffered some redness and swelling from the abuse, however, she was not seriously injured.
Police arrested Nasirova on Sunday at around 6:15 p.m. at the family’s home. She reportedly fought cops as they tried to cuff her, court records show.
She has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Nasirova is being held in jail on a $1,000 cash bail bond.

Feb. 7, 2013 at 9:11amI’ve made good money and not so good money. The choice for my wife to stay at home with our kids was sometimes hard financially but we traded the nice cars and expensive clothes (which sometimes we did get to enjoy when business was good), the fine dining and trips, because we felt it was more important to create a safe and loving situation for our children to be raised in. Its hard now days and a lot of families have to have both parents working and many people don’t have family that can help. Its sad that in those situations a parent has to fear the possibility that someone they trust their kids to is a debase animal void of the rationale that allows them to act like a human being. Yes, I think in this instance I would find it very hard to control myself once I discovered what she had done. I’d call the police for sure…but while we awaited their arrival….

Feb. 7, 2013 at 10:17amI agree 40. I am a stay-at-home mom right now. Holding my own five month old at this moment. We have had to give up a lot too and stories like this reaffirm my choice. I can’t imagine not being with my children everyday. It is a hard job but is worth it. Moms, do not leave your babies! Especially with someone who doesn’t love them.

Feb. 7, 2013 at 3:05pmAs the son of a physically and mentally abusive father, and complicit mother (both biological), I can’t support a blanket condemnation of hired sitters. I don’t have any statistics to cite in regard to sitters, but I do know that child abuse/murder suffered at the hands of blood relatives is disturbingly high.

Feb. 7, 2013 at 10:59pmI don’t understand how anyone can leave their pride and joy at the mercy of a complete stranger for hours. They wouldn’t loan their car to a stranger, they wouldn’t give their bank number to a stranger, but their own child? Sure, no problem. If a babysitter is needed, ask a friend or relative to do it.

Feb. 7, 2013 at 4:49pmKalshion Your an idiot.First of all it’s unfortunate that you have such a negative perspective on immigrants. This country was built by immigrants.Aren’t you an immigrant? Wasn’t once your parents immigrants? How dear you! First of all most immigrants have more skills and experience than most parents so you sound stupid saying they can’t take care of kids. What that nanny did is awful on many levels and she deserve a painful death. However, she doesn’t represent all Nannies. She certainly don’t represent me! I am a born American & my parents are from the Caribbean.I have been a nanny for many years and it has paid for my education.I chose to work as ,nanny because I love children.I have never put my hands on anyone Children and will never. With that said, I don’t think you should make negative comments about immigrants because your ass isn’t better than us.And the good nannies shouldn’t be looked down on because of something someone else did.I am currently pregnant with my first child and after seeing this, I decided to stay home and take care of my child not because I think all nannies are the same but because I won’t want to take three risk of having a violent person take care of my child.People aren’t always who you think they are and that’s why you don’t go around calling people immigrants or classifying everyone nanny as violent or inexperience.Like I said, there are nannies who are kind, loving and have a great education.I just graduated with a criminal justice

Feb. 7, 2013 at 7:28amLet this be a wake up call for you that leave your kids with strangers. Is it worth it? The newer car, nicer house, the occasional cruise, nice restaurant…. Only to have your kids grow up with mental problems because of the abuse they got from sick demonic care takers?
As you get up in years what will you look back at as the most memorable, most important, most joyful experience in life? It will be your kids of course . Not the lobster meals that contributed to your weight issue…
You leave your kids with strangers so you can go serve the $ god.
You send your kids to public school, and their identity and moral fabric will be that of their school year, with morals carefully scripted by the Department of Education.
In public school they the results are worse every year, nevertheless the homework increases, so that the only time you spend with your kids is forcing them to do their homework during the week.
When the weekends come you drive them around the state with their peers, to all sorts of useless sports…
But you think that because you take your kids to church on Sunday you can undue all that was programmed all week?
80% of children after college don’t return to church. They were not raised there, they were raised by the village!

I am happy for your daughter and she is now more likely to have a great relationship with her throughout her life. Her daughter will probably be less willing to move away, as she will have a stronger bond to her mother.
The bond between children and parents have diminished, as the kids are raised by the village.
It is not uncommon for parents to not like their kids by the time they become teenagers, and look forward to them moving out and becoming empty nesters, because of the lack of bond. When the kids themselves become married and have kids, they don’t feel the bond with their parents and many grand children loose out on having a close relationship with their grandparents, which I think can be instrumental in many cases. When the grand parents then get older they get shipped to Florida / Arizona, to some home only to long after their grand children, and wish they had done something different, if they are half way decent people. If they are Democrats on the other hand, they are more likely to contract some STD’s, as they can act out their moral inclinations with other Democrats.
Home Schooling is the ideal options i would say, as have heard many say it is easier, with no homework, and 3hrs of work pr day and you will be ahead of public schools, up through middle school !
I have also not heard home schooling parents talk their teens in the negative light as is common with parents of people in public school.

Feb. 7, 2013 at 1:44amthe police would have arrested ME in this situation. I would not have been able to stop myself from attempting to KILL that woman. No questions asked. You want to harm MY child? You better be 100 percent sure I can’t get within reach, in any shape or form because I WILL do my dead level best to make sure you are in the ground, permanently.
Also, why someone hires a nanny when they can stay at home and take care of their children is beyond me. I quit my job when I became pregnant with the first and didn’t go back to work until the littlest was in school. We were poor but my children were raised with the way we wanted them raised. No nanny, no daycare. I wanted my children to have our values, not someone else’s. And of course, no one can love and care for your children better then their own parent’s, at least the ;parents who put their children first. they didn’t ask to come into this world, we brought them and its our responsibility to do the best job possible. You can’t do that when you farm 50 percent or more of this never to be gotten back time to someone else.

Feb. 7, 2013 at 10:55amFirst off ,unless there was significant damage, then it wouldn’t constitute a felony.Unless it was premeditated or in the course of another crime, it also wouldn’t be considered a felony. To me the fact it was a stranger, one that was hired, is a foriegn national[muslim likely] would be cause enough to suggest a higher bail.Even though its a misdemeanor.

Feb. 7, 2013 at 11:05amReally.Hum would that be outsiders strangers or family members too?Lets see the vast majority of child abuse cases occur due to domestic violence.I’ve got it now she is beaten worse that farrah fawcett in the burning bed.She begs for help only to be ignored until she snaps then we should lock her up for life?Oh I get it for being the first victim she deserves life and the wife beating piece of filth should be given the keys to the city a job house and everything else his little wife beating self desires isn’t that right?Rather than lock him up for his crimes, lets lock her up for being a victim in the first place.

Who knows how many babies will be spared the torture of this piece of garbage thanks to that monitor. If that were my baby, first of all I sure wouldn’t have left her with a woman from who knows where, but I’d have fed this babysitter a few bottles using the same feeding method she did. Feb. 6, 2013 at 10:54pmGood for her setting up a trap. Would be even better if she stayed home with her children.
I was offered a pretty great job, with our town, when my kids were young. Very very tempting. But I turned it down in favor of part-time much lower paying work that takes place when my kids are in school. My first job is being mom. Hubby worked while I was home and he covered for me at home on the rare occasions & summers off school that I had to work. We never had anyone outside of our family babysit our kids because I knew that noone loved my kids the way we as parents did. If we needed a sitter it was family or we stayed home or took our kids with us.
