Trust Us, This Video of 4-Year-Old Girl’s Reunion With Military Dad Will Melt Your Heart

Video of 4 Year Old Girls Reunion With Military Dad Will Melt Your Heart

(YouTube)

It had been eight months since 4-year-old Carrina Kaluza had seen her dad, who had been deployed in Afghanistan serving in the Air Force. On Monday morning, Carrina got the surprise of a lifetime when her dad, Master Sgt. Tim Kaluza, surprised her during her kindergarten class and wrapped her up in a hug.

“Daddy!” the little girl shouted when she saw him standing in the doorway.

From the Valdosta Daily Times:

Master Sgt. Kaluza with the 824 BDS at Moody Air Force had been away from his family for eight months during a deployment to Afghanistan. This was only one of his several deployments.

“Too many to count, I couldn’t even tell you,” said Kaluza.

His wife Ashely Kaluza was able to see him on Saturday, but for Carrina, 6-year-old Savannah and 20 month old Alaina, Monday was the first day in eight months that they have seen their dad in person and not just on a computer screen during Skype sessions.

We won’t give anything else away. Watch the heartwarming video of the reunion below via the Valdosta Daily Times:

I wonder how many Afghani children were forever denied a reunion with their fathers thanks to the “hero” Master Sgt. Tim Kaluza. Or worse, how many Afghani fathers were forever denied a reunion with their children thanks to the heroic Kaluza.

You disgust me. He went where ordered by one or two POTUS’ The other side had just as much as an ability to kill him and the other way around. This man served his country and no matter what your politics, your disrespect is disgusting.

How about those folks being denied a reunion based on a ‘video gamer’ working the controls on a drone attack? What about the orders for these attacks? There’s so much grey area and hypocricy out there on these issues, but your comments are clear and simply black and white. You disparaged him, and disgust me.

You are missing one key point. The fact that the MSGT and his family are of value to real Americans. That man probably dreams of his daughters growing up to be President someday. The Afghan father dreams of his child shoveling goat excrement, at best, or strapping a bomb on their body, at worst. The MSGT and his dreams are to be valued. The other, not so much.

Yes, we better take his ability away to defend himself and his children by placing him on some “enemies of the state” list! War is a horrible thing, but it’s supposed to be! You blame the military for the wars? You’re an idiot!! Look to the government for whom to blame. Our policy should be: You attack us, we kick your **** then leave. I could give two rats a$$es about the Taliban or the Bathe party. Our Government always screws things up, and your kind wants more government? What a moron.

Perhaps these poor unfortunate, possibly fictional children of Afghani fathers would have been better served by their fathers if the dolts hadn’t decided to take up arms against the best trained, best equipped fighting force in the world.
And besides, how many children have these “Heroic” Afghani fathers killed? Raped? More than Master Sgt. Tim Kaluza I will guarantee you.

Maybe if they didn’t throw acid in their daughters’ faces, shoot soldiers who are there to train them at the request of their own government,, fly Airplanes into office building, hijack airplance and blow them up, or blow up school buses full of children with car bombs, our military wouldn’t be so keen on stopping them and they’d have more chances at reunion.

Thank you all for the responses. I never would have thought that my having empathy for innocent people murdered by an invading force would elicit such sophisticated arguments as – and I quote – “POS”. That does make me think my arguments might be wrong…

Nope. Because my argument (amerika is guilty of killing innocent people) is simple and can be summed upped in two questions.

      1. Who invaded who? It is the absolute right of every person in an invaded country to kill every invader on their soil.

      2. Where exactly does the US gubment have the authority to police the world in order to right every wrong, to liberate the oppressed, to go in search of dragons to be slayed? Although Congress has the sole authority to declare war (it has not since WW2), it is not found anywhere in the “beloved” Constitution that the federal gubment is responsible to spread Democracy and “freedom” to the world.

Show me where I am wrong. And show your work…

The Constitution states that one of the roles of the Federal Government is to provide for the national defense. It is our superior people and capability that says that we can go into their POS country and lose fewer than 4000 men in over a decade (unbelievable statistic through the prism of history, a very low number). The Afghan fathers that do not line up and fight the Taliban and al Qaeda with us are not men and are not fathers really.

This story plays in well with the “support the troops” crowd. I’ve read many comments when stories like this pop up and you are not supporting the troops by praying for them. That is the act of doing nothing, just to make yourself feel better. There is nothing a war time vet hates more than “thank you for your service”. It shows you haven’t done anything to actually be thankful or supportive. If you supported anyone, you would demand they all return to the U.S. Enough with your holy wars.

I want to protect this nation just as bad as the next guy, but who’s really being protected by killing so poor goat herder 3000 miles away in some dusty desert mountain patch of nothing? Al Qaeda is dead in Afghanistan and so is Bin Laden. Bring them all home right now so that some poor child doesn’t have to wait for the mom or dad to come home and they never do, but instead are handed a flag and thanked for their sacrifice.

It’s nice to see a Mother, Father and Kids equals the definition of a family. Could you imagine, Jimmy’s Partner Johnny just got back from afaghan and came to see their adopted daughter as school. First Jimmy walks in with little Toddy and then Johhny comes in uniform and his little daughter says, daddy, daddy, why don’t I have a mommy like the other kids, ha ha ha, what a site. For some reason it just doesn’t seem to be normal to me no matter how much society tries to shove it down our throats. It takes a Man and a Women to make a Family and don’t forget it. I will say it, to each their own and no, I’m not a homophobe, remember, just because I speak what I believe it doesn’t make me that either, so, if you are gay, don’t be a heterophobe, except my ways as that’s what you are trying to get everyone else to do too.

Now get your hugs and kissing in and head back to the sandbox and risk death by killing the bad guy goat farmer from kijacking another plane and flying it into another US building. Oh wait, the guys that hijacked the plane weren’t goat farmers, they weren’t poppy or wheat farmers, or the shoe repair guy or any of that. So why the hell are we killing them? Why does the goat herder turned insurgent have to die so that MSG Tim Kaluza here can go home to his daughter, but the goat herder can’t? If the US government turned tyrannical and say, came into Texas to round up your guns, would you not fight back? If the Obama Administration declared you American Patriots, Tea Party members, Conservatives, Christians, etc… domestic terrorists and started drone striking you, would you not fight back? So why is the poor goat herder any different than you and why is it his child can’t welcome him home every day, but MSG Kaluza’s can? There is hypocracy on the right, as well. Wake up people and bring them home for the love of ALL the children.

These videos melt my heart everytime. I tear up everytime I see this thanks for sharing. My son was deployed several years ago without kids but the uncertainty makes these reunions so special.

Now see that is what America is all about, sad to know there are those that would have something terrible to say about this blessed reunion, lets hope they keep quiet for a change.

    Aw man….that’s good stuff.

I would be interested to get some feedback from Military families, and therefore, live in “Military towns”, what the schools are like. I mean, with all the left indoctrination that occurs in public schools as a whole nationwide, are the teachers in schools in heavily populated Military personnel a little more conservative?

Not only do I live in a “military town” and I am retired military, my wife runs a school 95% military kids-PK through 5th. And guess what…you DON’T tell the kids that guns are bad. You don’t because their parents use guns to keep them safe. You don’t prevent kids from role playing about cops/robbers or good guy/bad guy because that is exactly what you would expect them to do looking up to their families service. They DO stand outside and raise the flag while singing the National Anthem EVERYDAY and they have flag pledge on top of that. They talk about the necessity of war and the desire for peace because that is life and they are scared by bad guys not guns. And they don’t just say “support the troops”, they do regular service projects including “operation candy drop” where all the schools kids bring in ALL their Halloween candy and box it up and send it to soldiers. They visit and sing for veterans at the VA and for families at the Fischer House. And the community comes to pay it forward on school work days. (shout out to the Home Depot who could not be more supportive!) These kids know Guns don’t kill people – Guns SAVE people from people who would kill people. People like their mom’s and dads. That should put the story of the kid “disspelled” from school for his imaginary hand grenade in perspective. We should be encouraging kids who want to save the world, not punishing them.

      @LakeHartwellSailor

BTW in relation to my last post – that is a private school. Our Public schools here that a majority of our military families have to choose from in this liberal state are not nearly as supportive. I’ve heard the horror stories of kids dealing with the same liberal crap in the news. Anti-war, anti-flag, anti-god but “we support the troops” bumper stickers. Our public schools military support might be a little bit better than other non-military towns, but not much. In fact I bet a rural farm town without any military bases near by is better than our liberal public school located .5 miles from seven military housing areas.

      Hi Don!

That’s good information. I thank you for your sevice, sir. I was enlisted 1979-84, married the last year of my enlistment, and never had children, so I was never concerned with the school situations at my duty stations. I do remember that the married guys I served with had terrible housing, but don’t remember discussing schools. Again, that was 30 years ago; and it encompassed a little bit of the Carter Admin..I think it got a little bit better for Military families after a couple of years of Reagan being in office.
