Conspiracy Theorists Still Harassing Aurora Theater Shooting Victims

Mike Campbell, from Aurora, shows his ticket from Century 16 theater Saturday, July 28, 2012, in Aurora, Colo. Campbell was in the theater when 12 people were killed and more than 50 wounded in a shooting attack early Friday, July 20, at the theater during a showing of the Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises.” Police have identified the suspected shooter as James Holmes, 24. DENVER (TheBlaze/AP) — Victims and witnesses in the Colorado theater shootings have been pestered by conspiracy theorists, impersonated in court filings and had their addresses and phone numbers posted online, prosecutors said.
In a document made public late Wednesday, District Attorney George Brauchler said some victims are concerned for their safety because of the unwanted attention.
Brauchler asked District Judge William Sylvester to ensure the victims’ and witnesses’ names are redacted from any documents released in the future, although many were identified in previously released court filings and some have granted media interviews, called news conferences or appeared at public events.
Brauchler said it is important to accommodate the victims’ and witnesses’ wishes because the prosecution’s case requires the cooperation of some of them.
James Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 70 at a theater in the Denver suburb of Aurora on July 20. He is scheduled to enter a plea next month.
In a court filing dated Tuesday, Brauchler said some victims have been subjected to “relentless contacts by proponents of purported ‘conspiracies.’”

He also said maps with the addresses and phone numbers of victims have been posted online, and some people allegedly impersonating victims and witnesses have filed court motions in the case.
Brauchler didn’t identify the victims of the alleged harassment or the suspected perpetrators or offer further details. His spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a call.
Aurora police received a handful of reports of calls to victims and survivors from people who claimed to know who committed the shootings and why, police spokesman Frank Fania said.
Fania said police did not consider the calls to be harassment and the callers did not break any laws.
Tom Sullivan, whose son, Alex, was killed, said someone talking about space aliens tried to contact him about the theater shootings through his union, the American Postal Workers.
Shelly Lucido, president of the union’s Aurora local, said the man called her espousing “almost body-snatcher stuff” and wanted to be put in contact with Sullivan. She refused.
“It was really, really weird,” said Lucido, who reported the call to police.
Sylvester has barred attorneys and investigators from speaking publically about the case and sealed many documents. Holmes’ lawyers are attempting to compel a Fox News reporter to disclose her sources for a story describing the contents of a notebook Holmes sent to a psychiatrist. The defense contends the leaks violated the judge’s gag order.
The secrecy surrounding details of the case have prompted numerous objections and requests for information from media outlets.
The city of Aurora has also asked Sylvester to reconsider his secrecy orders, saying they became moot when prosecutors outlined their case against Holmes during a preliminary hearing in January.
Attorneys for the city said city officials have received requests from emergency responders in other cities for details on how they managed the response to the massacre, and from media, academics and individuals seeking recordings of 911 calls and other information.
Conspiracy theorists are also convinced that the Sandy Hook massacre is a massive conspiracy. TheBlaze previously debunked theories proposed by so-called Sandy Hook “truthers.”
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on February 8, 2013 at 9:49pmSince 9/11, everything has become a conspiracy theory of one kind or another. Bush won the 2004 election because of voting machines that were rigged by Diebold, despite the fact they weren’t rigged to throw the 2008 election to McCain or the 2012 election to Romney, and they weren’t rigged to give Bush Sr. the 1992 election over Clinton.
Katrina was also a conspiracy, created by Bush and Cheney with a weather creating machine that they used to create a hurricane and with perfect accuracy steer it to New Orleans. And that wasn’t enough, as Bush also blew up the levees just so lots of minorities would drown.
Then all the lone gunman massacres in the last couple years, every one of those is a conspiracy of some kind. People cannot come to grips with the fact that there are a lot of nutbags in the world who realize in their delusional way that in this era of 24/7 instant news the fastest way to become famous is to become infamous for shooting a bunch of people. Nothing is real to them anymore, life has become a giant video game.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZPS7AdgNgE&list=UU1h3bqESVdqkwm123Ce4ZmA&index=5
The Blaze and the rest of the media could learn a thing or two about real journalism from Ben Swann instead of ridiculing those who point out shortcomings in the “official story”. Nowadays, the media is the mouthpiece of the government and anyone who questions the mainstream media is ostracized, which is a characteristic of a totalitarian regime.

Posted on February 8, 2013 at 11:37amWhy is it so hard for people to believe that true evil exists in our world and that there are people capable of carrying out acts of pure evil on their own?
It’s like a coping mechanism with them, blame something else because no one could be that evil. Well guess what, there are crazy people in this world. I have seen the mental ill up close and personal and do not doubt that a single person could carry out these acts by themselves.
Not to mention the 100′s of people it would take to carry out these hoaxes. Like they would all stay quiet. The guys who killed Bin Laden couldn’t stay quiet for more than a month. Bill Clinton couldn’t cover up that he got a hummer in the Oval Office. You really think our government could pull this stuff off? You must have a higher opinion of them than I do then!
It’s called reality. Try living here for a bit. You might be surprised by what you find.

Posted on February 8, 2013 at 9:44amThere is nothing wrong with conspiracy theorists provided they don’t harass or hack or commit any crime. Being loud mouthed should be celebrated since conservatives have been cowering under political correctness.
Since our gubbmint constantly participates in clandestine affairs it is difficult not to believe our gubmint would resort to creating a crisis.
Remember Obama supporting T. Martin- one would argue “he didn’t know the facts”
BeerGate
gun running in libya
AWOL Benghazi
Fast and Furious
job stress and Fort Hood……….
There just seems to be a lot of “lone mass murderers”
Beck is trying to ridicule those who just can’t accept the narrative. he is also trying to “debunk” them patronizingly. Suggesting that they are all a bunch of whack jobs from the Left.
I just believe everything in the media regardless of politics is propaganda.
There are no facts.

Posted on February 8, 2013 at 9:03amTheblaze writers can not be charged with “harassing” anyone.
They just post what they find from the “main stream media.” This is an Associated Press story. Glenn Beck pays the Associated Press for it.
Mr. Beck, who often said he had the 3rd most listened to radio program, is not only part of the main stream media. He is also supporting the other parts of the main stream media.
Here he is, printing a story denigrating those people who are not part of the media elite in the headline, but the story is really about a lawyer’s ridiculous contentions.

Still, I wouldn’t put anything past our government, either side.
I definitely trust the left less than the right, though.

Posted on February 8, 2013 at 5:32amI don’t know… I’m not a conspiracy theorist at all, but the recent string of shootings one on top of another seems terribly odd. Sandy Hook was timed perfectly in order for Obama to advance his progressive agenda. The media reported so many different variations of the story. Why are people so angry and offended with the fact that the public wants to know more? The government is trying to deny us our constitutional rights, don’t I deserve the details on the case they are basing their argument on? If I was a witness to these events, I would have NO PROBLEM doing interviews and answering questions. I might say I would feel obligated to inform the public on what I witnessed. I tend to believe that it’s all authentic and that the media is CHOOSING to fixate on stories that advance Os Agenda.

Posted on February 9, 2013 at 7:04amIm listening when people say,” you know, people are perfectly capable of doing evil things on their own”. But we have an invisible government that goes far beyond obama that consists of the richest people on the planet who buy politicians and have been behind alot of our evil doings since the founding of this country like eugenics, haarp and so on…These things arent just pushing obamas agenda, their the oil for the gears of ev!il that are ushering in the NEW WORLD ORDER people! Weather they were really orchestrated by our brainwashing secretive cia or weather theyre just pure evil on the part of a solo citizen, they will be used indefinately to deprive us of our God given rights and libertys and its sad that lame, sheepish people who cant pay attention and only believe what theyre told on CNN will buy every aspect of it and unknowingly turn against themselves. So conspiracy or not there are forces of evil at work here that make Hitler look like a pawn. They have everything except absolute power and now theyll be sure theyll get it from us willingly because many of us are so blind.

If Aurora witnesses put themselves out here in CT to testify at public hearings for GUN CONTROL… then they are fair game. Can’t have it both ways… and still here waiting to hear from Sandy Hook survivors, 1st responders, witnesses, to speak or be interviewed… silence… crickets… and The Blaze marches on attacking ….

Is is really that insane that the psychotoxicated James Holmes, the same status as Jared Loughner and Adam Lanza, could have been motivated financially (or perhaps lied to) to do what they did? Drugged up loners with a stagnant future… each incident an escalation in order to get the desired attention for Gun Control. THERE WILL BE MORE!

I would say it would be more likely the government is harassing these folks pretending to be conspiracy theorists. It’s all part of a way to demonize anyone who questions the official government storyline. You portray doubters as dangerous and evil so people start hating “conspiracy theorists”. It’s pretty obvious the government is behind the aurora shooting and the harassment of the victims all to get the public to doubt and demonize anyone who “questions with boldness”.

Posted on February 8, 2013 at 1:34amThe thing that doesn’t make sense to me, is that he went out to kill as many people as possible. He ended up killing 12, wounding 58 and terrorizing hundreds. He even wired his entire apartment to blow, maybe enough to destroy his apartment building. Very intricate setups, took them 2 days to disarm everything…. which could have added even more to his death toll….
…..yet when arrested he voluntarily tells cops his place is rigged? What’s a few more people to his body count? Why even take the time to make the rigs if you didn’t want to hurt anyone with it, and why would you spare those lives but kill as many as you can at the theater?
And who is the man in the front corner seat that opened the door. No orange **** and had a goatee according to witnesses.
