Who Is Time’s GOP ‘Savior’ & What Does He Have To Say About It?
Much like Newsweek, Time magazine will from time to time (get it?) publish a thought-provoking or controversial cover.
This week, it chose Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) as its subject:
And perhaps a little embarrassed by the slightly over-the-top rhetoric, Sen. Rubio responded to the cover with this tweet:
There is only one savior, and it is not me. #Jesus
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) February 7, 2013
Well how about that?
UPDATE — Time magazine responds:
@marcorubio Point taken, but we just said you’re the ‘Republican savior.’

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 5:23pmThe whole crop of new Republicans are a joke.
It took McCain 4 decades to become a joke,
but only took Ryan 4 years,
I suppose that’s some form of progress.

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 12:59pmThe media has branded him as the voice of the GOP, I don’t think we’ve done that yet, but, the beat goes on; the media will do whatever they can to start the process of breaking him down and creating a different personna. There are many voices of the GOP and for sure you can’t rule out the credibility R. Limbaugh has within the party or some of the others like P. Ryan, A. West, M. Love, etc. There are more Republican leaders right now than in the Democrats ranks and that makes them affraid. I mean Hillary Clinton, that’s their hope and changer, please.

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 12:56pmAmerica’s savior is not a person. It’s a macro-economic policy that is nowhere near the discussion boards. A king dollar policy would fix most things in a heart-beat. The problem is that there would be some short-term pain. But un-like the Reagan era, this time we should lower the corporate tax rate instead of income taxes. Stop printing money. Bernanke has put us between a rock and a hard place. Lower the corporate rate to 22% like most European nations. It will pull the 3 trillion on the sidelines and get people to invest. 22% lines up with the now current capital gains and dividend rates of 23.8%. (20% + 3.8% for Obamacare). Investments from overseas would pour in as well. As the dollar becomes stronger so will our purchasing power and prices will fall. Unlike the rise in the service sector industry under Reagan that provided jobs for the amnestied immigrants, this time the rise would be in manufacturing. We would also need to follow this up with some serious regulation reform. We can drift along closing loopholes, raising taxes on the wealthy, cut military spending and all the other planks of the progressives, but they will mean little if there is no growth. Obama simply pushes money around like a drunk date on the dance floor. You can dress her up in heels, pearls and a nice dress but no one really wants to dance with her. Smart and talented people do not want to dance with America right now.

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 12:50pmDoesn’t much matter if the GOP likes him or not. He does not meet Constitutional requirement for “natural-born” citizen, so could not run for President. We don’t need anymore illegal presidents, even though I like Rubio and think he has his head on straight. And besides, even though the media did not have a problem with our CURRENT Liar-In-Chief not meeting Constitutional criteria to be a “legal” president, you know they would be ALL OVER Rubio and would crucify him the first day he declared for the office!

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 12:45pmI like Rubio… a lot. I think he’s a great addition to the conservative movement. But, with that said there’s one simple problem with him. It’s the same problem that the current pResident has. Rubio is NOT a “natural born citizen” of the United States.
The founders didn’t get into the “definition” of that term in the Constitution for a reason. That term was only used once prior to being used in the Constitution and they were ALL very familiar with the definition. If you check the “Law of Nations” (1758) by Emmerich de Vattel where it was first used the meaning and definition are VERY clear.
The current prez is an American nightmare. I get that. And Rubio would make a good president. But, two wrongs don’t make a right. The law is the law and the Constitution is the Law of the Land.
I know there will be those out here on this blog that will vehemently oppose what I’ve written. That’s ok. All I ask is that you read and get familiar with de Vattel’s natural born information. The Founders did.

That is all that this is. It is a preemptive strike against real constitutionalist candidates, by the establishment New World Order bureaucrats.

All you people that RAILED about Obama “NOT QUALIFIED” to be POTUS are falling into the same scenario with Marco Rubio. Marco Rubio is a “NATIVE BORN CITIZEN”. That fact DISQUALIFIES him to be POTUS or be in the LINE IF SUCCESSION. As much as he would be a top candidate he CANNOT BE. The Constitution has been TRAMPLED enough by Obama AND Hillary. Let’s focus our efforts on making Marco Rubio SENATE MAJORITY LEADER! There is where he will SHINE!!!

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 12:19pmAs far as I am concerned, the GOP is dead. I have been lifetime GOP, but the GOP I supported no longer exists. They stand for nothing, therefore they are neither capable of, nor should they be trusted to lead anything. They do nothing but sell our values back to us to get elected, while their actions betray them for the liars they are. John Boehner is a traitor as his vote is not in the interests of the people, but in the interests of the lobbyists. Lobbying is nothing more than legalized treason and the GOP leadership has made it blatantly clear that they are unabashed about declaring war on the true conservatives in their midst. Now they are engineering another spooning session with the Dems by making sure to get that reach around in the next election by putting Karl Rove[the epic loser] at the helm of the party campaigns.
These folks disgust me and prove to me daily that DC truly is the lowest point on earth for integrity. Their silence during the gun debate is deafening. Bunch of yellow cowards with no spine to stand up for the very Constitution they swore to protect. The fact that Obama has not been impeached, especially after Benghazi; that they have not demanded hearings on the Origination Clause Obamacare which emerged form the Senate & Obama’s refusal to defend the DOMA in violation of his oath to uphold the Constitution exposes them for the pathetic liars they are… To hell with the GOP. Time for the American Party to greet them as the vermin they

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 12:03pmMarco Rubio articulates conservative ideals in a profound and engaging way. He reminds me of Barry Goldwater, however, there is another contender… Ted Cruz. I believe the left is playing Rubio. Democrats have made promises to him that they will never live up to and Rubio is falling for it. On the other hand, Cruz, in his first 30 days in office has already ripped into the Democrat machine. I laughed when he told them to stop reading The New York Times. TED CRUZ IS NOT AS NAIVE AS MARCO RUBIO.

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 11:53amPerhaps they are trying to destroy him with conservatives. I see him in front of the cameras with Schumer and then Time puts him on the cover??????? We need a national candidate for president that is vetted and vouched for by all the conservatives we trust and then make sure he is the candidate, not the one chosen by the Repub. elites and the press. We can’t keep doing things in the same way and expect a different outcome. Is Rubio trustworthy??????

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 11:53amI like what Rubio has to say most of the time, but I tell you what, I will NEVER call anyone other than Jesus Christ my savior!!!! No one deserves that title except Jesus, who is God! If Rubio puts his hopes and trust into Jesus the way I have, I will tend to trust his judgement a little more. But if he is just proclaiming Jesus to win votes, the truth will always surface. Just like it has with our muslim in chief!

This libertarian vs conservative BS is just more divide and conquer which is ultimately why I’ve lost respect for Beck. He plays that game to the hilt. Posted on February 7, 2013 at 11:50amThe eligibility question has become easy for me now that I crawled into the minds of the founders.
Wouldn’t you make the rule to mean born of U.S. citizens? I would.
I wouldn’t want someone who’s father was Kenyan and mother was afghan to be our president. It’s not that this automatically makes the candidate a poor choice, just a check and balance on reasonable protections.

The time is coming when the mantra of the left and politically correct in our gov’t “you don’t have standing”( read that to mean “shut-up peasants your masters make the rules”) WILL come to an end.
